Norton tends to attract big businesses so I'm not surprised that's what the IT guy recommended. It's good for IT folks as it lets you do a lot of remote management stuff.

But it's still a bloated piece of crap. I apparently it's gotten a bit better with norton 360/antivirus 2009, but you really can't go wrong with Avast, to be honest.

Caves in general for me. Easier to see where I'm going in the small spaces without my character model in the way. Otherwise, I'm a camera zoomed out guy.
  3. Gotta go with Shia this month. All sorts of little things hidden in that piece.

Lousy Day was my second choice

And the reason is gameplay. Purples are part of the level 50 content. It gives characters at the level cap something to work for.

Yeah, I'd go this route if you want to solo with ice control. Ice is probably one of the lower damage sets and while ice/kin can do some good soloing, you really need to be level 32+ (and preferably level 38) before you really get going, solo speed wise.

It's a very rewarding character though, as long as you're not planning on soloing much.

I think that would be contingent upon CoH itself (for windows) going 64-bit. I'm not a dev so I'm not professing any sort of inside knowledge or something like that. But this late in the game I'd consider an architecture change of that magnitude to be unlikely.

Yeah. The broker will be a contact icon on the map. Alternatively, there's a broker/detective tab in your contacts window which should help you find the person you're supposed to be talking to.
  8. Ah ok. Just checking.

Not sure if there's an easy way to switch between EU/US training rooms like you want. Especially on Mac since that involves it's own complications.

I'd let it just run out the download on it's own. Maybe CuppaManga knows something that'll help out.

You might be able to copy the files between the two apps, as detailed somewhat in the CoH Mac edition guide (http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showthread.php?t=143743) but...not sure what tells the client that it's a US or and EU client, so you might be resetting that bit too when you copy stuff over
  9. He needs a credit card/paypal/game card on file in order to play the game.

His card will not get charged until next month. The first month of gameplay is included in the game.

If he cancels his account before the first month us up, he won't get charged (except for the game purchase price)
  10. Question for you...you do have a North American account right? You can't play on North american servers unless you have a NA account. An EU account won't work on the US training room

Those aren't TFs in the traditional sense of the word though. They use roughly the same code, yes. But task forces/strike forces they are not.

If you disconnect on a task force, you're still counted as "on" the TF and therefore count as being on.

A TF will remain active as long as two people are on the team. Meaning, if you have an 8 man posi TF and 6 of those people hit the "quit task force button" the task force will continue as per usual. But if the 7th person hits the button, the task force disbands.

I remember being up against Pilcrow in the most helpful poster category. I also remember thinking that I was screwed.

    Man, I miss pilcrow.
  14. Yeah, I missed the addition of assualt in the OP.

    Assault works. Set bonuses...no.

Yeah. I'm 99% sure that set bonuses only buff your damage and they don't get carried over to pets. Well, maybe with the exception of pet like entities...like the rain powers. But don't quote me on that one.

    A little unfair?

I think the main problem is with your subject line.

"A little unfair?" has a lot of connotations attached to it. It makes it look like you feel you deserve something.

I'd totally agree, too. I'd love to see a hero planner for OS X. I thought about making one for a while, but I don't really have the time to spend on it at the moment...

I'm going to assume that because CoH and CoV are now the same, you can no longer apply a old standard CoH code and an old standard CoV code to the same account since doing so gets you no benefit.

That's a seperate ATI bug and happens regardless of OS version

If it were the OS, everyone running that OS would be having the problem, and that isn't the case.
Vista WAS causing that to happen and everybody who ran vista needed to enable that setting manually. But a while ago, the devs coded it to detect vista and auto-enable that setting, so it's no longer necessary

The game runs on Vista without any more issues than anybody trying to run it on whatever OS would have.
  22. It could be slightly annoying if you're doing a task force, ex-ed down and your forgot to check how much time you had left on your raptor pack.

    But it's quite doable.
  23. You might want to check to see if you have the most up to date video card drivers.
  24. Pretty much as long as you don't have an integrated video card, any laptop you'd buy these days (excepting netbooks, but those usually have integrated video) can run CoH quite nicely.

The _NA is due to the forum mergers between the North American servers and the European Servers.
More specifically, when they merged the EU and NA forums (not servers...servers and accounts are still separate), if there were two people with the same name, they appended an _EU or a _NA to the end of it until they could sort it out. Which they can now. Information at the previously mentioned link,
