It's like you read my mind! I've been wanting backpacks and quivers for a long time. Holsters and sheaths as well. I don't like how the weapons and shields dissapear. I'd love to see them sheathed, holstered, or slung on the toons body when not in use.
With the sheaths, I don't see why it would be a problem for the players to have them since the Jonin ninjas have double sheaths on the back.
While reading your thread I had another idea: Instead of being drawn from the back when in use, the assault rifle could be slung to the front at the low ready position when not in use. And when it's been inactive for a significant amount of time, it could be slung to the back.
Pistols seem to be drawn from the hip area, so I think that belt holsters with leg straps should be available. It would be really cool to see them filled with the pistols when not in the toons hands.
I'd also like to see shields strapped to the back when the character's shield defense powers weren't activated or if the toon is inactive for a time. -
Bring back raids. Those were some of my favorite game experiences.
There have been many great ideas in this thread.
Nowadays I usually only join SGs so that I can spam that I'm LFT to the entire coalition, and sometimes use the teleports. -
I'm making an elec/elec Dominator as a Preatorian to try new things out.
-
I wouldn't get the Super Jump pool unless I wanted Acrobatics. I always get Hasten and Superspeed.
Voltac Sentinal is about usless in my opinoin. It's cool to have the electric ball follow you around and zap stuff, but it's not a great power. You would do better with another power in it's place....like Acrobatics or whatever the very first Electric Blast power is.
Shocking Grasp is OK, but not that great. I have it on mine, but it's not one of the goto powers.
I'd skip Lightning Field. It's just an aggro magnet. I didn't realize it was available in the secondary, but it's been awhile since I chose powers for that guy. I skipped it on my elec/elec scrapper for that reason.
I did a secondary build with a more blapper style that included the fighting pool, but on my main blaster build I don't have those. -
I also have a MA/Regen scrapper that's awesome. I'd go MA or Electric for the primary.
-
I'll probably try KM on a Stalker since I'm currently playing with one. I go through different phases and right now I'm in a Stalker one. I've gone for almost 4 years of playing without ever giving one a serious try, now I'm addicted to Assasin's Strike. I'm always curious about what AS is going to look like from different sets. KM is no exeption. I'll at least play one to level 6 to see what AS looks like.

I've been on many teams, had a stalker quit, and then someone on the team says "No big deal; it was ony the Stalker". Other times it's "invite anyone....but a stalker". Stalkers suffer from being the little brother to the big brother brute. Unlike the scrapper/tank relationship where scrappers do more damage than tanks, the stalker usually does less damage and is much more squishy than a brute.
Plus, virtually everyone has been on the team where the stalker races ahead on the map and leaves the team behind, exposing the map and making it difficult for the rest of the team to know where they have been, while contributing nothing to the team execept for an AS every once in awhile, where he usually dies immediatly afterwards and then lays on the floor begging for an awake or somethign while everyone is tryign to fight the huge mob that he has aggroed. I think that stalkers have a ****** magnet or something.
I think that's why most people think that they can do much better by picking another AT for their team or TF.
I recently made and elec/elec stalker and I think that he contributes greatly to the teams, as do the other players on the team. But the thing is, i don't AS and then jump out. I stealth strike with an AoE and Crit hit most of the mob, and then Placiate and AS a Boss or Lt. then just start going through the normal melee rotation. This has been my first positive experience with a stalker. The rest of the sets that I've tried have met with similar responses from players as the original poster and my own experiences with stalkers on the teams.
I'm looking forward to taking my new electric Stalker to Paragon City to see what he can do after GR hits. -
I made an electric scrapper after it got ported over. It's one of my favorite toons. I went elec/elec. I think it's awesome.

I haven't tried DP with a Corr or a Def, but I tried a TA/Archery Defender awhile back and ended up deleting him. I started an Archery/TA Corr after Archery ported over and I've loved the combo ever since. Yes, I don't feel like the debuffing arrows are doing as much for the team, but I get to kill stuff and love seeing "Scourge" pop up over the bad guy's heads.
I'd go Corruptor for your DP/TA, but really, I'd just go Archery/TA so you only have one weapon. -
I want an ice/ice scrapper or stalker since there is no Fury to worry about and that was one of the main reasons I saw that they don't want Ice Brutes.
I want shield defense for stalkers. I also want a new Shield Melee set, but that's another issue.
I think that people had an interesting point about Defenders getting melee secondaries. It seems like a cool idea to me. A healer/martial arts Defender immediately comes to mind. A healing warrior Monk or something.
I would love Trick Arrows or something suitable for blasters. I've wanted this since I made an Archery blaster a while back, but I want it less now that Archery is available for Corruptors. Still, some form of TA for blasters would be awesome. -
Quote:I have all of those with a fire/energy blaster. It's cool because I run into a mob and hit Inferno, pop a blue, and then hit Personal Force Field so I don't die.....always. Plus when things get hairy and the health is getting low, I hit PFF and then Self Aid.I'm getting nearer to 41 with my main character, Starflier, and I'm curious what veteran blasters think of the powers in Force Mastery. I'm thinking I'll take PFF and Temp Inv, possibly FoN.
Any reasons I should reconsider the other powers, or are those fairly solid choices?
Temp Invulerablity and Force of Nature speak for themselves in terms of usefulness. -
Wow. I want a fire/fire blaster now!
I made one awhile back, but I didn't really like it. I deleted him and went with a fire/energy blapper instead. Now I wish I'd stuck with the fire because of fire sword circle. -
Quote:I went Mind/Psi for the one I just made yesterday. I started the concept character years ago, but I found the guy to be unplayable, at least for my inexperienced tastes, but now with the recent buffs to Doms, he's quite formidiable.Best safety primaries: (in order, from my estimation)
Mind/
Earth/
Plant/
Best AoE secondaries: (in order, from my estimation)
Fire
Thorn
Psy
Note: Fire/fire for AOE goodness is HIGHLY damaging, but sacrifices safety for a while until you get flashfire well slotted. -

I don't see how anyone could stand drawing and redrawing two different types of weapons.
-
I recently leveled an elec/elec blaster, Electroblast, up to 50. I went with Elec as the third, Epic, powerset as well. it's one of my favorite toons. I'd recommend at least trying it.

Quote:I got a thugs/poison mm up to lvl 50 thinking the awesomeness would kick in at some point.....it didn't. I ended up deleting the guy and restarting a thugs/dark.I'm trying to use the set on masterminds but it isn't easy - the end costs are huge for the first 3 powers, being single target and all. Granted, I'm only level 10...
To put this level of dissapointment into perspective, I actually played through 49 levels since I hate farming. But maybe it would be better on a corruptor....
Quote:I'll echo the sentiments here that Posion needs help.
It seems to have a bunch of single target debuffs that arent particularly stronger (in fact often weaker) than AoE counterparts in other sets. Its often referred to as a "king of ST debuffs" but I've never seen that myself in 35 levels of play (admittedly with Ninjas...)
Anyone wanting to make a Poison-themed Corrupter would be better of taking Radiation Emission and colouring it green IMHO. -
Sheild melee could be awesome. Toons carry axes and other weapons that make repetitive attacks, so why not let it be a shield that people hit other people with? Ah yes..it might seem strange to see a shield melee/super reflexes scrapper or a SM/fire armor brute, but is it really all that strange? I think not when considering some of the other power combos available in the game. I see no reason to limit sheild offense to being available only with shield defense. That's just limited thinking by the powers that be.
Big discussion about it here: http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showt...shield+offense -
I've found that many kins get very annoyed when I ask for SB. I usually just make a statement that I would like SB, and leave it at that unless I see other team members getting it when I'm not.

Quote:Good list, but I've seen a kick-*** Iron Man clone. He was an energy/energy blaster with one of the robot armor sets with the gold and yellow themes. He looked like Iron Man and the guy played him like Iron Man. It was pretty awesome.Hawkeye - Archery/TA Corruptor (or Archery Blaster for the non-sucky version)
Iron Man - Can't really be done IMO. NRG/NRG Blaster, or Doc Mike's Defender version I guess. Although a squishy Iron Man makes my eyebrows twitch, as does an Iron Man with visible force fields and gimpy blasts.
I would say that any archer character would almost have to be a archery/ta corruptor....that is if you like actually killing the enemy. I've had archery/devices blaster and a ta/archery Defender.....they both ended up being deleted. Finally Archery became available for Corruptors and now I'm rolling Bloodbow. a kick-*** Archery/TA Corruptor. It's awesome with TA as the secondary and archery as the primary. The main gripe about the Defender with that reverse combo was the inability to easily kill the enemy, and as far as playing a Defender, the expectation was for me to be buffing the other players and at least debuffing the enemy. I was, but TA just isn't the set for it. I would argue that the Archery/TA Corruptor is the only viable build for a concept character based upon the comics characters that use arrows, trick and otherwise........unless they come up with a version of TA for blasters. -

I had noticed the lack of end drain that I used to get from having brawl as the auto attack for my brutes to build Fury. I'm very glad that they made that change. I haven't gotten around to respecing any toon or adding any extra slots to brawl, but it's something that I've actually considered, which is saying a lot because I never used it past lvl 5 or so in the past.

They are a bother and a nusance for me. I don't craft to make them and I hate the way my recipes get filled with them so I might miss the opportunity for some rares that might actually be worth some money if I dont' drop what I'm doing to go sell, which they aren't worth anything, or just taking the time to delete them is a pain. I wisht they would come up with a separate storage place for them or allow me the option to not get them.

I was in a place where it was difficult to find teams that didn't just want to farm all the time, and I absolutly hated playing new characters due to having to sprint across huge zones to get to one contact, only to tell you to see another contact that was across another huge zone just to tell you to go to a PvP zone, that I have little to no interest in, filled with baddies that could kill you with one shot and force you to start the whole process over. (long sentence)
Anyway, I was getting frustrated with farm mania and playing lowbees sucked, so I was just about to quit playing. In fact, I'd all but quit since I didn't shut off my account, but I wasn't playing much at all. Then, along came Ninja Run. It's awesome! My ONLY gripes with it is that you stay in the crouch pose even when you are being still, and that you have to wait until level 4 to start using it. But now that they have changed the low level missions and contacts, by making them closer to the start points, they have eleminated all my previous frustrations with playing a new toon.
I, too, would like to make passionate love to whomever created Ninja Run.
