And that is where I got the idea from. Since we already have the Paragon Rewards that do this why not sell a "pack" of decorative items that unlocks for the account.

Heck it might even entice some F2P's into upgrading to Prem.

And that doesn't even take into consideration the players with multiple accounts, whose main account has been active for years but their secondary, tertiary, etc accounts haven't been active anywhere near as long.

And how many parents let their kids play a character on their accounts? I'm reminded of that cool thread about the 6 year old that pops up from time to time. That kids got a better grasp of what makes a good player than the OP.

Yeah I agree with this sentiment. The only reason I still look forward to the Chalet is because I don't get to go there whenever I feel like it.

    I hate it.
Create a macro and simply change costumes by activating it thru your power tray. You can set one up for each costume slot.

I forget the exact way to create it because it's been a while but my Magician Sim Sim Salabim uses the Lightning CCE to activate and deactivate his Superior Invisibility.
  5. This is my favorite line from the OP.

Yes, I too have always wanted them, but it was way cooler to see them on somebody who earned them then somebody who just purchased them.

This ties in with the whole VIP account thing. I was all excited about it when I thought you had to earn your way onto the server. I had visions of a server filled with experienced gamers. Little to no power leveling, no stupid questions, no smack talk, just awesomeness everywhere. Great teams, great people. Like it was way back. When I realized you could just buy into it I was really happy I didn't transfer anybody there. It's no different then any other server now. Somedays I think it has more newb's then all the other servers combined. -Disappointed

The simple answer was Yes. Yes you are the only one!
In what seems a sad attempt to make himself look like he is being picked on.

Gotta love how the forums keep track of people editing their posts.

However I would also like the devs to add a similar emote where the birds are white so I can have a Dole/Dule of Doves. I have a concept for a character that would use the black and white emotes to switch between his good and evil persona's.

True, but they are a small portion of the overall population and the income generated by the items being purchased in the store more than cover the discount they are getting.
  8. What a great idea! I'd love to have some suckers uhm err I mean recruits spend real money to trick out my bases so I can boot them after I get what I want.

I'm all for adding more to bases, but the only things base related that should be "sold" is a decorative item pack that would unlock for the purchasers account that still needs prestige to be placed in a base. That way no one gets screwed if they get kicked from an SG.

So I'm, personally, quite happy with the idea of them eventually coming to the store. And if it's not til a year or more later, that's a fair compromise.

I think a year is a fair amount of time. It's just enough time for people to sell the codes on ebay to morons for hundreds of dollars. Then when the codes are sold in the store for pennies we can laugh derisively at the complainers knowing full well the real reason why they are mad.

In regards to my original issue, Zerg, it was approved by the GMs as fine. I do not want to do anything to put the game at risk. That is why I petitioned them.

I sincerely doubt Dave Chappelle is going to sue CoH over this. In fact, if I thought I had half a chance of getting a response I would write him about it. But I am sure the whole issue would confuse/bore him if he even read it. However, if he wanted to sue he would not have a case, as my poor understanding of these things stand. You see, he had a character in a skit comedy. This is a super hero. The characters/backstory resemble each other insomuch as they are both portraying individuals with two arms/two legs/one head interacting with other creatures with two arms/two legs/one head. "Buck Nasty" was a term in the urban lexicon long before Mr. Chappelle's writers used it, and the Chappelle show has no inherent right to ban anyone else from ever making a pun on the phrase. Based on my conversation with the senior GM and a careful read of the above thread I will not be petitioning this name. I feel it is a waste of GM time. If you feel the need to I guess you will.

p.s., I have never had a single character gen'd in 4 years in the game. (and I alt a lot)
No. You don't understand why and how characters get genericed. I'm not going to repeat what has already been said earlier in the thread as you seem determined for whatever reason to maintain the policy doesn't apply to you.

Personally I think it's pretty obvious that your just trying to bait people at this point to see what reaction you can get. And no one in this thread is dumb enough to look you up in the game to petition your characters and risk being accused of harassment. There's plenty of well meaning players out there willing to protect the game without anyone in this thread getting involved.

Doesn't matter. Changing or adding/subtracting 1 letter isn't going to protect you from getting genericed if petitioned. If a GM decides it's a violation it's gone.

The GM's can also see how many times a player has had to have characters genericed. That way they can deal with repeat offenders with harsher penalties than a simple forced renaming.

Personally I wouldn't call it the 90's. The Man Show only aired for 1 season at the end of 1999 and it ran in the US until 2004. Of the 6 seasons 5 were solidly in this century, not the 90's. The show also had spin offs in Europe that lasted until 2008.

Rough, have you ever done any arts? Writing, drawing, painting, playing music?

For writing, there are only seven plots.

For music, 75% of western music is a variation of the exact song. If there are extended bridges or codas, they are pretty much derivative of something else that's been done before.

For painting, unless your are Picasso, you are also going to struggle to be original. although, to be fair, he created approx 10,000 works of art in his life and only invented like 7 genres. Kind of weak.

So yeah, I am inspired, copy, call it what you like. Glad to hear you never do, get over your genius self.
I get inspired too, but I try to do my damnedest to put enough of a spin on the inspirations so they don't violate the original IP. I don't just take a name someone else is using as their IP.

For example I have an alt inspired by H.P. Lovecraft, an anime show, and Oompah music. Giving me Polkathulu. I have another inspired by the Robocop movie, Hitler's Brain in a Jar, and our current German Pope.

This. I was only intending to remind people that it's easy when doing the math in your head to forget that the monthly stipend doesn't count when adding up the points.

Only the points purchased count towards the $15/1200 per reward token.

If your sure you didn't get the reward token contact CS and ask them to look into it.

Just want to point out a flaw, We don't get auto logged off if we are inside missions or SG bases. So F2P players could simply enter a mission and walk away from the game. Prems with SG's could do the same by entering their bases.

Because of that I have to /unsign number three. I have no problem with the first two tho.

Personally no. But that doesn't mean someone else might. I got genericed because someone was offended by the name "Phart the Dispersing".

Wait, Isn't "Buck Nasty" a character from the Playa Hater's Ball on the Chapelle Show? If so then I wouldn't be surprised if someone petitioned it.

Edit: Why do I know the names of characters on the Chapelle Show?
  21. Please remember that the monthly free bonus point stipend DOESN'T count towards reward tokens. That could easily throw someones numbers off.

I think you should ask if the OP is talking about the number of slots on a build or the number of slots you can have on the enhancement tray. If it's the latter then the OP is right you can only have 30 enhancement slots on your enhancement tray.
  23. Gonna have to agree with the others and /unsign this. Sure it's nice to succeed at these things but the object of a video game is to have fun. Win/lose/or draw as long as I have fun I don't care what happens.
