Quote:When I said I have characters who always hover, I didn't mean to specify ranged only. The only Scrapper I've put any realy work into is a BS/Regen that hovers aroundI made an exception with one melee character just because I wanted to be able to fight while flying and didn't feel like he needed another attack, beyond his primary attacks.
Another +1 for Hover: it lets you move while performing emotes. Moving down while flying doesn't break the emote, and if you angle the camera right, you can move around on the ground while flying down. I sometimes amuse myself doing this with ;pushups, or I make my character into a guru and scoot around while using ;lotus. -
Quote:It will take you to all of the story arcs, which is where the story takes place.the Oro flashback system won't take you back to ALL the content.
The missions which are unavailable through the Pillar of Ice and Flame, while the contact has dialogue giving some form of meaning to the mission, are not really a part of the game's story. -
Quote:Not every option is a useful option to have. Ever played Fighter Maker? It's a fighting game, but the core concept is that you can design your own fighter. It's optional, of course: you can just fight with the pre-made characters. But the game is Fighter Maker, why not make a fighter? It utterly amazes me how people will rain all over a request for an OPTION. As in, "Here's something that you don't have to use and won't get in your way at all, but it will make some other people happy." As if whatever doesn't benefit you personally somehow weakens the game.
So you design your fighter's appearance. Then you realize that you're tasked with designing your fighter's moveset. Including the animations for those moves. With a PS2 controller. GLHF.
I'm not saying that's the case here. I'm pointing out the problem with your assumption that more options are always better.

From another angle, Patrol XP is "normal" XP. After playing "too long", as determined by how long you haven't been playing, you are penalized 33% of your normal XP, to encourage you to do other things with your time than to sit and play games all day. -
Quote:Is this the part where someone posts a detail about a game system, like saying you can only have 5 copies of the same set bonus value... then someone else chimes in to add clarification that is rarely useful to the person being informed, such as the limit being set by the name of the bonus... then someone else starts to talk about the hows and whys which clarifies the first clarification, such as pointing out that each set bonus is treated as a power and all of the current set bonus powers are set to be limited to five copies, but it would be a trivial matter to create a set bonus that allows 10 copies or 2 as the difference is merely a single number in a spreadsheet....Technically it's not the value of the set bonus that matters but what it's named.
Is that the sort of situation going on?

Quote:When my sister was in Costa Rica, she sent my mother an email (in Spanish). My mother, who has a poor grasp on Spanish, used Babelfish to translate. According to Babelfish, my sister loves to eat fragmentation hand grenades for breakfast.I still usually double-translate- translate TO the language I want, then back to English, just to be sure.... Had a few scarring embarrassments back when Babelfish was the translation service of choice. Most were horridly maligned phrases that I can't specify here.... I'll just say they were terribly suggestive.
You'd think the more common translation for "piƱa" would be "pinapple". -

Quote:No complaints! My Fortunata runs all three Leadership toggles, twice! Not true. On Test, I respec'd into Leadership on my main. My Recovery was only 2.something, while my Use was 3.something. On a /Regen. With QR, Stam, and PhysPerf all 3 slotted with L50 Common IO EndMods. And L50 Common IO EndReds in all attacks.

Still, glad to see others are enjoying it.
And Kheldarn, I shall stand firm against even the awesomeness that may very well be Issue 20.

Quote:From another angle, Stone Armor characters can build up enough +Speed set bonuses so that the -Spd from Rooted and Granite Armor can be counteracted, and then you don't have to rely on finding a Kinetic in order to even move.anything with the Stone Armor powerset, once you hit 32/38 (depending on class) if you knew to be a good Stoen Armor character you need Granite Armor, well, that Armor gives a -65% Recharge, which is 5% less than what Hasten gives you in benefit for 2 minutes, with Granite Armor on, if you do not slot IO Sets that give the +X% Recharge Reduction Set Bonuses, your really in the hole when it comes to using your attack powers, since with Granite Armor, Hasten is not able to be put on Perma, and it barely negates any of its own Recharge when used with Granite Armor, to me this is where Sets come in - slot Sets in your Powers that give you Recharge Redux bonuses, and if your like me, you went on Mid's Hero Designer and actually tested out how many Sets with Recharge Redux Set Bonuses youd need along with normal Recharge Redux IOs to reach default non-enhanced Recharge of your powers WITHOUT hasten

I have a few characters who always hover. With them, I slot 3x FlySpeed, which brings you up to 28.4mph. Add Swift with 1x FlySpeed (I'm never running or jumping anyway) to bring it up to 32.1mph. For comparison, Ninja Run is 39.4mph.
For my other characters who I want to Fly, but only for travel, I pick up Air Superiority (easily the best pool power attack) instead. -
I'll give a reason why changing the ally-buffs into self-buffs is a bad idea: "Adrenalin Boost". It's like Instant Healing on crack, and if you could apply it to yourself, you could easily make it perma with slotting and Hasten.

Quote:Au contraire, they made XP itself optional. Not only do the devs realize that someone might not want to level faster, they recognize that someone might not want to level at all. It's just weird that when PvP, Inventions, Mission Architect, and other big changes hit the scene, CoH was all like, "It's optional! It's optional! You don't have to do this if you don't want to!" but in this one instance they're like, "Please...who's NOT going to want this?"
-
Well, the MM version used to debuff the caster's jump speed, too. I don't recall when it was changed, but it was the only version of Shadow Fall that did.

Of course, some powers are autohit, but one of the effects of the power says "Not auto-hit". For an easy-to-find example, look at any instance of [Taunt]. "Entities autohit: Foe", but "+10.25s Taunt (mag 4) PvP only, Not auto-hit". The taunt requires accuracy in PvP.

According to the lore, a Bright Nova could be a transformation for any Kheldian; Peacebringer or Nictus. The transformations are merely the echoes of the form of a previous host. The only reason we associate Bright/White with Peacebringers and Dark/Black with Warshade/Nictus is because of the limitations of the game's powers system.

Yeah, bug brains are too small to eat easily.
YOU FOOL! That which holds the image of an Angel becomes an Angel itself!
Quote:There are some random coh players whose footprints get (intentionally or unintentionally) fossilized in the game from time to time. Kiyotee (*respectful head bow*) is the primary example. It's fun to think I might be another example, though maybe all that means is that the devs want to wield a generic-name bat over my head like a sword of damocles. -
If there's any revenge going on (and I don't see anything approaching that, TBH), it would be for GG's incessant one-liners punctuated by a smiley.

Quote:Depending on the order you did the original Portal Corp. arcs, Praetoria may have found us before we found them, or we may have found them first. How's that for a monkey wrench? We'll call ourselves Universe 1 since we found everyone else first.
Everyone else will be numbered in the order we found them. Rikti is 2, for example.
Pocket-universes will be numbered as a decimal of the universe in which their creator originated. So the Shadow Shard and Pocket D are 1.1 and 1.2.
If someone finds us before we find them, they get to be Universe 1, and everyone else (including us) will move down a number in line.
