    A few Ideas

    [ QUOTE ]
    1) Wasn't in beta so I don't know.... but I think that it would be nice if we were able to pick the background music for our missions. Nothing uploadable just access to whatever sound files the devs have with maybe a pay for it pack for new sounds.

[/ QUOTE ]Music effects are attached to the map. They're essentially invisible boomboxes.

    [ QUOTE ]
    5) Lastly create power packs (buyable through tickets) that unlocks powers that are available to npc groups and not us. This would probably go hand in hand with the "complex" custom builder.

[/ QUOTE ]This might work for some NPC sets, but not for others. I mean, what's the animation for a custom critter using Incendiary Swarm Missiles (from Malta Titans)?

Also, NPCs don't treat powersets in the same way that we do. Often, an NPC will have 3-4 powersets that have maybe 2-3 powers each. So developing the Mission Maker versions of the set would require some work.

Hmm, so they are. I hadn't even noticed until you pointed it out.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I'm still not seeing it... I played on various characters, hoping through zones and missions, and I don't just see this happening. My FF bubbles are still sticking to people when they zone, and I know Sprint and PFF are still working, as are click powers like Hasten and Eclipse on my Warshade.

    Am I doing something right?

[/ QUOTE ]Well, toggles won't really be affected by the problem, since they reapply their buff extremely frequently (sometimes as much has five times per second)

When I went to check that it is, in fact happening, I looked at my AoE defense in the combat monitor, without running any Defense powers (I've got a few AoE defense set bonuses). The defense was 0 for several seconds after zoning, until jumping up to the correct value.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Did you check with anything else to verify? Because FF bubbles I placed on other people maintained, as did click powers I had activated (two things Luminary said was broken).

[/ QUOTE ]While working on Bard, someone cast Speed Boost on me, and the buff was gone when I exited the mission, though it was there when I entered. (And the mission was taking seconds to complete, so it didn't just run out)
  3. [ QUOTE ]
    1. Don't show Dev's Choice
    2. Don't Show Hall of Fame

[/ QUOTE ]To be fair, you can do this already. Just select No Ratings and 1-5 stars, and you won't get DC or HoF arcs.
  4. I was thinking something along the lines of El Kabong

  6. Every recipe except purples and the PvP IOs are available with tickets if you get lucky on your rolls.

    You answered your own question...

    [ QUOTE ]
For someone who plays many many alts (like many of us), how is one to tell which have done it and which have just been in the building?

    [/ QUOTE ]

    [ QUOTE ]
...the Instructor vanishes from your contact list when it is complete.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    [/ QUOTE ]

    I said that, man.

"... short of noting that the contact doesn't appear on your list."

When you play 147 characters, most of which are above level 30 at this point and have active and inactive contact lists a mile long, it's not really an easy task to track down a contact which is not there.

If the contact was there, with a little filled up progress bar, that would be a different story.

[/ QUOTE ]Why do you even feel the need to do the tutorial? It's not because of the reward (there isn't one). It's probably not because of the information you get (you can get the same info from talking to the NPCs without doing the mission, and after your first time you probably know it all anyway). It could be because you're OCD about clearing out your contacts list, in which case you'd find him when you look at your list.
  8. Hmm, so they are. I hadn't even noticed until you pointed it out.
  9. Err... what's "happening now"? I haven't had any powers-related issues.

There are a couple of Temporary Auto powers that have an aura associated with them.

Plus it FITS the D better than it fits the RWZ, don't ya think?

  14. I haven't been dropped from a MA team since the last time I was on Test. It seems they've fixed that.

Re: Giant Monsters: pohsyb said they're looking into allowing GMs on outdoor maps.

I don't expect CoX to last much more than three more years. Either the monthly-fee MMO market will bottom out (very unlikely), NCSoft will shut it down due to insufficient profitability (unlikely, but possible), or a sequel will be developed and announced (likely). Launching a sequel would allow them to not only improve the game's engine (which can and is being done gradually already, it seems), but overhaul its playable mechanics and generate new interest in the franchise.

CoX predates WoW, and I don't even expect WoW to last for more than three more years without a proper sequel... or if not a sequel to WoW directly, at least a new property for Blizzard.

    [/ QUOTE ]

You young whippersnappers don't have enough perspective. Some MMOs hang around for a very long time. Kingdom of Drakkar, a 2-D graphical MUD, is still going after 20 years. Ultima Online is still around. Everquest is 10 years old, and that's a very dated game now, likewise Diablo II. If a game like EQ is still hanging in there, I'm not expecting any plugs to be pulled on CoH for 5-10 more years, longer if they update the graphics periodically.

[/ QUOTE ]There isn't an MMO in existence that has closed its doors due to age. We really don't know what the maximum lifespan for an MMO is, yet.

So it's an even worse idea for NCSoft to start a lifetime subscription program. They've already paid off the startup costs; there's no reason for them to do it.

I think I may have broke Fleeting...

I'd consider it, but the only instance I saw of it being offered in an MMO was, specifically, for those people that were upgrading from Beta to Live, or for people buying in the first month (Founders, essentially).

[/ QUOTE ]Exactly. Lifetime subscriptions are generally offered at the start of an MMO's life, to help cover those initial costs that sunk the company into the hole, which they need to make up before they can turn a profit. Not for a game that's already been going for 5 years (and is one of the best moneymakers the producer has)

I was getting my butt handed to me by spawns of 3, even con, mutated, bunnies. BUNNIES!! I don't know what was more humiliating, that I was having trouble with even con spawns, or that I was being beaten down by bunny rabbits.

    [/ QUOTE ]

If it makes you feel any better, I think Ninjitsu was bugged for a while. Wasn't it granting the mobs a large damage bonus?

[/ QUOTE ]Yeah, Ninjutsu was making all attacks double damage, all the time for a while on Test.

Pairing two control sets together is murder, too, even for a melee AT if they're not careful. I ran into a group of 4 Plant/Earth lieutenants while testing one of my arcs once, and managed to get about 10 immobs and 5 or 6 holds stacked on me
  23. The MA tutorial all but forces you to walk within range of the exploration badge in the AE building. Tada! Your tutorial badge.
