Correct, from the information we have now, GR will be a separate expansion much like CoV. However, the assumption that GR will be released near the same time as I17 (in much the same way that CoV was released near the same time as I6) is a reasonable one to make.

Quote:The heal you saw (Empathy > Healing Aura, Radiation Emission > Radiant Aura, Thermal Radiation > Warmth, and Pain Domination > Nullify Pain all have the same stats) is actually the weakest AoE heal in the game (unless you count Pain Domination > Soothing Aura, which is more like Heal Over Time). Healing in general is also the weakest form of team defense (since healing repairs damage, while other defensive powers stop the damage from ever occurring). If I were to try to defend my team, what is the powerful heal that I see being spammed all over the place.
Powers which are much more useful to defend your team with:
Cold Domination > Ice Shield and Cold Domination > Glacial Shield
Dark Miasma > Darkest Night and Dark Miasma > Fearsome Stare
Empathy > Fortitude and Empathy > Regeneration Aura
Force Field > Deflection Shield and Force Field > Insulation Shield
Poison > Weaken and Poison > Noxious Gas
Radiation Emission > Radiation Infection and Radiation Emission > Enervating Field
Sonic Resonance > Sonic Barrier and Sonic Resonance > Sonic Haven
Storm Summoning > Freezing Rain and Storm Summoning > Hurricane
Thermal Radiation > Fire Shield and Thermal Radiation > Plasma Shield
Traps > Triage Beacon and Traps > Force Field Generator
Trick Arrow > Poison Gas Arrow and Trick Arrow > Oil Slick Arrow
None of that is to say that healing powers are bad, or that HA/RA/NP/Warmth are bad powers to have. In fact, if you're a Radiation Emission Corruptor or Controller, an Empathy Controller, or you have Thermal Radiation or Pain Domination, you're forced to take that AoE heal. It's just that claiming the heal you saw is "strong" is false, and healing is the last line of defense, not the first. -

IOs cannot. But "other special enhancements" is all of: Hamidon Enhancements (Hamidon raid), Titan Enhancements (Eden Trial), and Hydra Enhancements (Abandoned Sewers Trial). All of which can be combined just like Training Enhancements, Dual Origin Enhancements, and Single Origin Enhancements can.

Really? I thought they were built after the first invasion using salvaged Rikti technology.

Quote:Quoting the HELP menu in-game:Interesting. Note that I hadn't noticed that yet. Could it be bigger, or something?
Quote:Target Window
Whenever a player left clicks on a villain or another hero, information appears in the Target Window.
A targeted villain's name will appear at the top of the window. Directly underneath is his Villain Group... -
Quote:The program(/widget) needs to be coded to allow for the Always On Top state. Whoever makes the program(/widget) needs to specifically code it in.But the fact that HeroStats stays on top shows that there's a way to do it... I just don't know what that is...
Widgets are generally a container system and then third parties write scripts/whathaveyou to make the actual widgets; in which case, the widget system would probably be the one that needs to include support for Always On Top, rather than the widget writer. For example, all Vista widgets have an Always On Top checkbox in the context menu. -
And Mantid is also the source of the new Size Chart, as well as an animated graphic of the level up explosions

Well color me embarrased. I didn't realize the forum the release candidate was posted in was closed access

I suppose you'll just have to wait until the RC version becomes the official version. My apologies for getting your hopes up. -
Quote:Not technically, but if you're at the recharge cap, HT's recharge exactly equals its durationHowling Twilight has a pretty nice chunk of it (though it's not perma-able).

(Of course, you've still got to account for the cast time, and getting to the recharge cap is rare) -
Quote:If you're asking whether each tick of the DoT would have a chance to trigger the procs, then the answer is 'no'. (The procs will trigger once every 10 seconds in a toggle)Would it be more beneficial to slot the proc enhancements into someone who has a DoT aura?
If you're asking if it's a good idea, then the answer is most likely 'yes' (many damage auras do low damage compared to actual attacks, while the procs do a fixed amount of damage regardless of where you put them) -

It is impossible to avoid using the mouse entirely for location powers (pet summons, teleport, etc.)
As Lemur Lad points out, it is possible to make the drop a single action, (lbutton with modifier key held), rather than two separate actions (activation key or mouse click followed by mouse click) -
If you can't handle a boss by level 30, you're doing something wrong. I went through the EBs in Faultline on my WS mostly solo with little trouble, and that's in the 15-25 range.

Quote:You're linking to information Stoney's unofficial patches to Mids'. Since releasing those, Stoney has been added to the official Mids' development team, who are currently working with Release Candidate 1.6001, which should become the official Mids' version soon. The release candidate should be up-to-date with the current build on the Test server.

Quote:I used High Logic Font Creator. The free trial runs as if you've got the Professional Edition, lasting for 30 days. The program is a bit expensive to buy, but if you just want to make one or two fonts, the free trial works great.Oh my god that is awesome. If I had ANY clue how to do a TTF file I'd go and do up the writing for one of my D&D races. That so inspired me though!

So your solution to a zone that everyone travels through... is to create a zone for the express purpose to have everyone travel through it?

Quote:Oh, I agree. I'm just saying that against a lv50 AV, all your tohit debuffs together amount to as much protection as a slotted Flash Arrowstacking all your ToHit Debuffs onto an AV does produce a noticeable effect, especially when stacked with Shadowfall's defense (I think it ends up being around -15% ToHit, which isn't insignificant).

I will admit that Dark Miasma has one major problem: AVs.
Dark Miasma, doing everything it can do, it about equal vs. a level 50 AV as a Trick Arrow Defender who has 3 -tohit SOs in Flash Arrow.
DM also has a minor problem: No source of defense debuff. However, Petrifying Gaze's combat spam claims it reduces the target's defense (it doesn't), so I'd love to see PG get buffed so that its combat spam isn't lying to me

Quote:"No, because CO has it" is a bad reason to be against something, I agree. That I can understand perfectly. What boggles me is the "No, because CO has it" or the "No, because it would look stupid" mentality. Balance of Cost vs Reward for the development is a very valid concern.
"No, because it would look stupid," however, seems perfectly reasonable to me. It's entirely subjective, sure, but it's fine as a reason to not want something.
(For the record, I do think that the swinging in CO looks stupid)
