I hate my mouse. Help with keybinds

Hello Everyone,

First let me say that this is my first post and hopefully I'm putting this in the right spot..if not, please forgive me. I've just earned my 3 month vet award and I'm loving the game so far. Like many others, I am primarily a keyboard player, meaning I'd like to forget that I own a mouse. I've recently rolled a Plant/Kin and while I love the toon I hate that one of its most useful powers requires that I use my mouse as a trigger. I'm speaking specifically about Carrion Creepers.

My question is, has anyone determined a way to auto target and trigger this power with the keyboard? I.E. Tab or Sift+Tab and some keybind to trigger it in a mob? If this is at all possible I would LOVE to know how to use it. Its the only thing that keeps me from completely falling in love with this toon.

Searing Justice

The best I can do for you, is to make a "drop power" like that a single click. The power has to be aimed, but with this bind you can activate it at the spot your cursor is without creating the spot first.

/bind ctrl+lbutton "powexecname carrion creepers"

One thing I will say is even though you may not like the power setup as-is, I hope you learn some of the tactical advantages of it. With a drop power and a little patience, you can drop it from around a corner or on enemies above or below you, without being in sight.

In any case, enjoy. Plant Control is one of my favorite sets. I love my Plant Dominator, and my Plant/Rad controller is also very good.

It is impossible to avoid using the mouse entirely for location powers (pet summons, teleport, etc.)

As Lemur Lad points out, it is possible to make the drop a single action, (lbutton with modifier key held), rather than two separate actions (activation key or mouse click followed by mouse click)

Thank you for your help. I'll look into this. I'm assuming I will be able to choose which of the 5 buttons on my mouse will do this. A shame that it is not possible to do.

I do realize the benefits of being able to strategically place powers like this. I regularly do this for my Bot MM. I'm simply one who would like the option of being able to select a target using my tab key and lay down a power quickly when simple placement in a mob will do. Hopefully one day we'll see this ability for those of us who would rather work entirely without a mouse. Maybe even allow us to target with the arrow or wasd keys when this power is selected. One can dream.
