It is a little known CoH fact that whenever you go to another earth you end your timeline. Upon returning you are a fragment without a past. Luckily your perception of your past events allows Quantum mechanics to rebuild your timeline, therefore allowing you to exist.

When you leave our world, then change your alignment, then come back your perception changes. Therefore where you arrive Quantum Mechanics creates a history for you that better reflects your current alignment.

We like to call it "Positrons theory of MMO Realignment to allow for Story Consistency."
Someone's been doing their physics homework, I see!

That's my point: English District 1 is like AP on Freedom. If you don't play on Freedom, why would you stay in English District 1?

As for removing broadcast from chat, as I recall it's just a checkbox when you open the chat window fully (default key: ~)
(Edit: If you're standing near someone when they send a message to broadcast, you can still see their speech bubble pop up over their heads, but it doesn't show in your chat window, and only happens for people you're close to)

To be fair to Runescape, some time after they went full 3D they changed it so you don't have to click each time to repeat an action (ex: click once to begin mining, not click once for each swing of the pickaxe), and they added in random events to those style of actions to help prevent botting.

I remember I played Runescape way back when the Crafter's Guild was members-only, and members didn't have anything west of White Wolf Mountain. I was there when they introduced the thieving skill to members, with an entire town pretty much devoted to grinding away at it, full of people stealing cakes from NPC bakers, getting caught, and attacked by town guards.

But yeah, despite the improvements RS has made in recent years, I still wouldn't recommend it.
  3. I like the third one the best
  4. Specifically, you would want /target_custom_next, but none of the parameters to the command differentiate between player and NPC.

While I haven't done anywhere near all of the missions in the game, the only missions I've actually had real trouble with are:
    • Glint's Challenge (but the one reward I want from the mission is a Cloth of the Brotherhood, to get Brotherhood armor for one of my heroes, and I can buy that off a player)
    • The various Polymock missions (because I'm terrible at Polymock)
    • Kilroy's Punchout Tournament (though I haven't tried it recently, and I haven't tried changing my secondary profession to Assassin to get bonus damage with the brass knuckles)
    • The Norn Fighting Tournament (I can get up to Magni the Bison, but I'm an Elementalist and he can squish me pretty quickly)
    • A Time for Heroes (the last mission in Eye of the North, and since the floor of most of the boss room is lava, my AI allies die quickly)
The first is a "challenge" mission, so it's supposed to be difficult. Polymock is just a minigame, and the rewards are more Polymock pieces, and Asura points (which are obtainable in other ways). Kilroy's Punchout Tournament only rewards Dwarf points (which can be obtained in other ways). The Norn Fighting Tournament rewards Norn points (which can be obtained in other ways), a focus item which is inferior to what I've already got and can't be improved, and a token which can get me a tankard of Dwarven ale or an ugly headgear which is no better than what I've already got (and those last two require beating the tournament 5 times). The other rewards from the tournament (Zho's Journal, unlocking two Heroes, and Zehtuka's Horn) don't require beating the entire tournament, and I've had no trouble getting.

Polymock, Killroy's Punchout Tournament, and the Norn Fighting Tournament don't allow for teams of any sort, anyway. I've teamed on maybe 3 missions throughout my gameplay, other than that it's been all Heroes and henchmen. (For a long time, I had all my Heroes set to /Ranger, and had them tame a Flamingo for a pet. ARMY OF FLAMINGOES!).

Also, the only storyline mission I've been unable to beat to date (A Time for Heroes) can be soloed without any support whatsoever, so it's more a matter of build than team size.
Edit: After I reached Ascension in the Prophecies campaign, I set my Hero team up as a Sabway build with Master of Whispers (obtained near the beginning of the Nightfall campaign if you skip over Magrid the Sly, or at the end of the Nightfall campaign if you follow Magrid), Olias (obtained near the beginning of the Nightfall campaign if you have both Nightfall and Prophecies), and Livia (obtained near the beginning or middle of the Eye of the North storyline, depending on the order you complete the quests in) - the team is actually very effective. My elementalist used to be an AoE fire nuker, but after getting Sabway set up, I swapped to a single target air spiker.

You can switch districts, or take broadcast out of your chat window. (It's not like Atlas Park on Freedom is much better...)

It's obviously the source of the Thread. Sure, the Red Star gets Thread from Rukbat's Oort Cloud, but where do you think the Thread comes from, hmm?

Greater discussion of it and the continuing calls for it to happen are the best way to insure that a might be turns into a will be.
I'm pretty sure they said explicitly they're implementing this in GR. But then, I wasn't at HeroCon.

Doctor Aeon is definately the Governor of Cap
Aeon is mentioned as being governor of Cap Au Diable, but Efficiency Expert Pither also says that Olivia Darque is the governess of Aeon City. It's either an error in Pither's text (and error like that by his character is very far out of character), or there's a relationship between Olivia and Aeon we don't know about...

There are actually two missions where you rescue her. One from Peter Themari, and one from Efficiency Expert Pither. You don't know much about her, because not much is said about her.

With the Themari mission, she's said to be an assistant to Marshal Brass, and a big player in Cap Au Diable. With Pither's mission, she's supposedly governess. And that's about all we know about her.

No, it's wrong. The OP is asking about the Fail Safe Devices during the last mission of the Barracuda Strike Force. They're behind laser doors which instantly kill anyone except a Stalker with the [Power of Captain Mako] temporary power. The Fail Safe devices, when activated, instantly kill the huge ambushes that appear as you're killing Reichsman.

Well, there are 4 rescues during that mission, but none of them have anything to do with the glowies that only stalkers can reach

    Guild Wars
    1. You're still giving money to NCSoft (though ArenaNet rather than Paragon Studios)
    2. Fantasy setting
    3. No monthly fee (you've got to buy the box for Prophecies/Factions/Nightfall/Eye of the North, though)
    4. I think you'd have to really try and be really good at the game in order to finish any of the campaigns before hitting level 20 (the level cap). And the stories are pretty good

(Note: While getting to the cap and going through the campaigns isn't grindy, those who want to grind have things to grind for. For example, Prestige Armor looks cool, has the maximum rating for your primary profession, and costs 60 platinum for a full set, along with hard-to-find crafting materials. And yet you can get normal armor with the same armor rating with more common materials and just 5 platinum for a set)
    5. While there are "outdoor killquests", every area in the game that contains enemies is instanced, so "outdoor" in GW is more like a mission in CoH.
    6. While there aren't travel powers or mounts (there are powers which increase your speed, but they aren't really "travel powers"), you can open the world map and instantly travel to any city/town/outpost (non-instanced areas without enemies) you've already been to.

If you ever do decide to try PvP, you can create a PvP-only character, which has access to every power you've gotten on every single one of your other characters, every Hero (a type of NPC ally) you've picked up on other characters, and can buy any equipment buff item you've found on another character. (Or, you can buy the the various Skill Unlock Packs and the PvP Item Pack and have every skill/item in the game available to your PvP characters)

I hear Guild Wars 2 (targeted for 2010 or 2011) has a sidekicking system and (gasp) jumping
(If you do get into Guild Wars, I recommend getting and playing through the Eye of the North expansion on top of one of the campaigns, since GW2 is supposed to take place 250 years after the EotN storyline)

Edit: Also, Genius Operated Living Enchanted Manifestations (or, GOLEMs) are lots of fun

This is generally an indication that it is a good idea, since nobody is disagreeing with it and causing long flamewars.

Your best bet at this point would probably be to send a PM to pohsyb with a link to this thread.

    -Threat

"Threat" is what the AI uses to decide whot o attack. You actual Thrat value is a combination of your Threat AT modifier, how much damage and debuff you're dealing, the specific AI you're dealing with, how far away you are, and 1,000 times the remaining Taunt duration you have on the AI (that's correct, Taunt is not binary, and longer-duration Taunts are stronger).

There are also other factors we don't know about in the Threat calculation, and we don't know exactly where Threat gets floored (probably at 1, but we just don't know). I believe when Castle told us the portion of the calculation we know about, he also mentioned there's a "KillTheHealer" variable which is currently being ignored by all AIs in the game.

In short: Solo, -Threat does nothing (you're the only target to attack), though since most -Threat powers come alongside stealth powers, you may be ignored due to the stealth component. On a team, -Threat makes it less liekly that the AIs will target you.

That's also not just moving from A to B, that's a quest/mission/assignment that involves more than just killing anything that moves.

Don't remember if that was the case with this one, but it seems likely. Anyways, I've used it on enough posts that I feel it it is now an "established" tag, and I will be continuing to use it.
I think whoever it is has a problem with it, because "Mids' Hero Designer" uses the posessive form of "Mids"; since his name ends in an S, the apostrophe is placed after the S, rather than before. "Mid's" implies that the original creator's name is "Mid", while "Mids'" correctly shows the name as "Mids".

Edit: Also, you're capable of removing tags that you put there
