All stealth powers stack with other stealth powers. However, some stealth toggles are mutually exclusive with one another, which means you can't (for example) run both Shadow Fall and Stealth at the same time. But if you're running Shadow Fall and a friend is running Stealth, the friend gets the benefit of both.

If a tangent is something that leads the thread off in a different direction, and orthogonal means perpendicular, and perpendicular and tangent are opposite one another, shouldn't something orthogonal to the thread be something that is topical?

Quote:List of powers used by any Rikti critter not replicable by existing player powers:a separate Archetype with unique traits, power sets and story-lines along with the costume parts (and, if neccessary, a new body type) sounds far more desirable IMHO.
* Monkey Gas (Rikti Monkeys)
* Transponder (Communications Officer)
* Fusion Pulse (Heavy Assault Suit)
* Fusion Explosion (Heavy Assault Suit)
* Laser Lance (Heavy Assault Suit
* Sweeping Laser (Heavy Assault Suit)
* Fusion Overload (Famine: Rider)
* Paralytic Blast (Famine: Rider)
* Paralytic Aura (Famine: Rider)
* Nuclear Blast (A Bomb)
* Nuclear Blast (Drop Ship)
And even if they did make a Rikti AT, the only power from that list we'd be likely to get is Transponder. -

Quote:Speed on the ski slopes is all about MovementControl/MovementFriction, not about running speed. (The slopes are basically "falling with style")I tried out Ninja Run on the ski slopes on the test server, and it does a great job of boosting my times on the ski runs.
Ninja Run has identical MovementControl and MovementFriction to Super Jump.
And since MovementControl/Friction can't be enhanced anyways... -
Quote:It has been lower in the past, but not by much. Yes, we are currently close to an all-time low for our subscriber count. Yet we're still at 130k, and we're within just 50k of our all-time high.Amazing to see a vet admitting that player activity is low (I'd assert it's the lowest it's ever been).
If numbers alone was all there was to a game, Tabula Rasa might not have been pulled. Staying power is important, too. The fact that we've had such little variance over 5 years means a lot.
Actually, no, it's not. It's not high but 100k is not a small number unless you're comparing to WoW, or the entire playerbase of a free-to-play game. The reason 100k is considered "successful" for a subscription MMO is because that's approximately the number of active accounts needed to keep the game afloat and profitable.
If you can show me where you're getting the statistic for RuneScape's Member population, I'd love to see it (no sarcasm, I really would like to see it if you've got it). The only statistic I've ever seen for RuneScape's playerbase puts it at second in the running behind WoW for largest playerbase (IIRC, RS was at something like ~1.5M players), and I have an extremely hard time believing that statistic is for its paying members.Quote:I mean take into consideration the fact that a game like.. oh.. RuneScape boasts more members ( Paying members, mind you. Subscribers. ) than CoH and I call it a bit disheartening.

Also, concerning RuneScape. It was before the upgrade to full 3d that I did this, but I have previously decompiled RuneScape's Java applet to view its source code. And it wasn't just the client code, either, it was both client and server.
If that glaring security hole remains, it would be trivial to set up a private RuneScape server.

Quote:130k is actually "very good" for an MMO. An MMO is generally considered a "success" at 100k. WoW is a statistical anomaly, so don't consider it's multi-million subscription numbers as disheartening.Recently I had read that CoH released their subscriber numbers for 2009 and it rounded nearly 130,000 people ( Not quite reaching 130,000 - Something more like in the 128's or something, I think. ) and I notice quite a lot of talk.. Well, everywhere.. From CoH players, haters and lovers alike.. Frankly I'm worried for the game..
FWIW, in the past 5+ years (6 years next April) our max subscriber count was somewhere around 180k, IIRC that was soon after CoV's launch.
CoHV is, last I checked (which admittedly was before Aion's worldwide release), NCSoft's biggest cash cow in the West (I think Lineage II or Aion beats CoHV in Asia). They won't be shutting it down any time soon. And as I mentioned earlier, 130k subscribers is far from "grim"Quote:How much is actually riding on the release of Going Rogue being successful? If it's unsuccessful, is that it? Are we looking at dealing with another Dungeon Runner or Tabula Rasa?
I hope the game will be okay, but.. At the moment from looking at subscription numbers, discussion and the facts.. It looks kind of grim.

Um........
O.o
Also, your suggestion is missing /em ImTooSexy

Look into the "speed on demand" binds. Normally, "speed on demand" does things like toggle on Fly when you move, and toggle on Hover when you stop. However, if you simply remove the "powexectoggleon Fly" and replace "powexectoggleon Hover" with "e Teabag", you should get what you're looking for
-
Not possible. For one, the key name that matches the scroll wheel with regard to the binding system is simply "mousewheel". For two, the "mousewheel" key can only be bound to "+camdistadjust". It doesn't work with other stuff.

Quote:Since "Ms" is a contraction of "Mistress", the period is not to conform visually with "Mr.". Ms is an honorific for any woman, regardless of marital status. Including a period or not is more British vs. American writing style than anything.Since "Mr." is abbreviation of "Mister", the period is recommended for "Ms." to conform in appearance.
Ms: A woman ("Miz")
Miss: An unmarried woman ("Miss")
Mrs: A married woman ("Missus")
All three are a contraction of "Mistress" (feminine form of "Mister"), with a period generally being used in the US while being omitted in the UK. -
Well, there is a limit, considering we're only allowed 20 characters and only one may be a special character. But the limit to good names is absurdly high.

I'd rather have Rikti costume parts. Pretty much everything Rikti other than their costumes is possible on some character; we can even get their guns and swords!
(Yes, I realize you can't duplicate a specific Rikti exactly; for example, many have gun + sword, or psionics + sword. Rikti Priests have Empathy and Kinetics powers. Rikti Magus have Electric Blast, Psychic Blast, and Fire Blast) -
Quote:But the case I'm talking about, you can still attack and damage them, they just don't respond.I'm more of the opinion that the radical position change leads to a phenomenon not too different than the occasionally recurring bug where an Ouroboros portal will "follow" the caster. The portal becomes nonresponsive. It has left behind the active portion of the entity and the graphical portion is offset.

Quote:See also, Windows MojaveAs i understand it Windows 7 could just as accurately be called Vista Service Pack 3 or Vista Release Version. It's not a major change in the codebase like most windows releases that are given new names, just a bunch of much-needed improvements. More in the vein of Windows 3.0 to Windows 3.11 than Windows 98 to Windows XP.
So if anything CoH should run better, since Windows now runs better.

Considering the devs have already said it's what they're doing next with Power Customization: Pool Powers.
And I can give you a rough estimate of when it's going to happen, too, also based on dev statements: After Going Rogue.

Name of my first character, created while playing my Booleg Edition trial account. Also the name of my global.
The sad thing is, I've got a small stable of lv50 characters, but Fleeting Whisper only just recently hit 41... -
C: ++up$$powexectoggleon Jump Pack
Enter: tabselect global$$startchat
Shift+Enter: tabselect Repeat Offenders$$startchat
Numpad0: powexecname Rest
Shift+Numpad0: team Resting...$$powexecname Rest
Numpad<#>: teamselect <#>
Divide: powexecname Mystic Fortune
Add, Button4: powexecname <healing power>
Numpadenter, Alt+Button4: powexecname <travel power>
Shift+Lbutton: <complicated teleport bind which hides UI, zooms out camera, reduces shadows, and activates Teleport reticle while shift is held, and returns to default settings when released; only used on Teleporter characters or Kheldians while in Dwarf form>
Decimal: Varies by character, usually an ally buff power (or sometimes a cycling bind, like my MMs have both pet upgrades bound to Decimal on a cycling bind)
Multiply: powexectoggleon chain (toggle on all toggles I want always on)
Button5: some power I use frequently that I don't want to move my hand for (eg, Build Up)
Button4 and Button5 often get overloaded with modifiers for powers I'm using frequently or require drop targets. For example, every location power I have on my Illusion/Storm Controller (Phantom Army, Spectral Terror, Phantasm, Freezing Rain, Tornado) is bound to {Alt | Ctrl | Shift | }+{Button4 | Button5}, along with my healing power (Button4 = O2 Boost) and travel power (Alt + Button4 = Fly$$Hover)
I have on occasion bound something to Minus. My main MM has Alt+F<#> bound to various instances of inspexecpet to feed inspirations to my henchmen. I occasionally bind ~ to a targeting bind while badge hunting. Beyond that, I use the default control layout. -
Quote:Come to think of it, I believe you may be correct, at least partially. On occasion I have seen Bane Spiders standing around ground floor of Grandville (where there aren't normally Bane Spider spawns), underneath the Web (where there are Bane Spider spawns). Except they don't respond to attacks.I think mobs can be killed by fall damage...unlike us. Im pretty sure I've punted one or two off the Web or some such high point, to cackle madly as the health bar hits 0 on contact. I can almost here the 'Thud' ^^
As I recall, the conclusion that was eventually drawn after some discussion was that the Bane Spiders fall off the Web, and get hit by falling damage. The bane Spider's AI thinks that it's dead, and so stops responding to anything - after all, I'm dead, right? But the actual entity is saved by the falling-damage-won't-kill-you code with 1hp, and then regenerates that HP. This results in a full-health Bane Spider, standing where no Bane Spider ought to be, which does not respond to the presence of aggroable targets or to attacks.
