Quote:But even as your linked article points out, whether a serial comma is acceptable or not varies by media, reader, subject, and the color of a frog's leg hair.Incidentally, you've correctly omitted the serial comma in the thread title.
That's 'alicorn', thankyouverymuch!
What about for depicting accents in dialogue? -
Quote:Pretty sure BAB has said it in jest, just like GGSeriously, If they hated villains then they would hate money. I doubt that is the case, so please drop this stupid devs hate villains crap. It's old, tired, untrue, and makes people think that CoV is second rate, when it is really superior.
And to Quote Back Alley Brawler, they are the same damn game.
Lighten up. "Devs hate ________" (usually "villains", but occasionally it changes as appropriate) is a board meme. Live with it.
...
Devs hate Vega.

Eh? With few outliers, the only problems Mids' ever has are due to being out of date, since it's a third-party application. Considering the changes to flight are pretty old now, and Mids' is up to date, this assertion is silly.

Howling Twilight only theoretically self-stacks its debuff. At the recharge cap, HT's recharge time is equal to the debuff duration. Add in cast time, and it's impossible to stack.

Quote:It's only "Vast Majority" if you're counting the animations using Mantid and the animations using Ghost Widow. If you're just counting the emotes he had on his animated emote guide, then it's actually "All", not "Vast Majority". I asked him if I could transfer his animations to Paragonwiki when I found out he was leaving and that his site would shut down. After some discussion with other Paragonwiki editors, I uploaded the Ghost Widow animations in preference to the Mantid animations, filling in with Mantid when the GW version was missing. If you are specifically looking for the emote animations, the vast majority of them were copied to the ParagonWiki before his site shut down.
Along with the emote animations from Mantid, I also added an updated CoH Size Chart (along with detail images) which Mantid created. Eabrace also uploaded Leveling.gif, also created by Mantid:

I've also added a number of emote animations to the Emotes page of Paragonwiki which weren't in Mantid's guide (either because the image was missing from his directory, or because the emote was released after Mantid stopped playing). -
Bad example. The "caster" for the debuff from freezing rain is a pet; if you cast Freezing Rain a second time before the first wears off, you've got two pets: two different casters. So it still stacks.

Sprint is not a travel power.
Ninja Run suppresses just like SS and SJ.
I don't believe Teleport suppresses in PvE (I'd have to check), but in PvP Teleport's range is suppressed to damn near zero. You're unlikely to find a skilled PvPer using Teleport in PvP. -

Quote:On the other hand, debuff powers which create pseudopets to do their dirty work will always stack, because the "caster" is the pseudopet, and if you stack the power, you're summoning multiple pseudopets. Not quite.
Most "Debuffs" (powers from a Buff/Debuff powerset which's main purpose is to debuff) don't stack from the same caster. Now, most "Secondary Effects" (powers from a blast or melee set which's main purpose is to do damage, but have a debuff attached as a secondary effect) do infact stack -
Quote:What bug? Level 53 set enhancements exist in the game. That's why you can view them on the market. There just isn't anything in the game anywhere that drops level 53 recipes.Until they fix the bug.
That's a clever use of the system, but man, I'd scream bloody murder if I saw 40B disappear after a patch...
The same goes for the Black Market/Wentworth's teleport inspirations. The inspirations exist, but nothing drops them. Instead, you can buy a Black Market/Wentworth's teleport power. -

Quote:There are three current problems with CoD that I know of:You realize that my point is that the site is broken, right? Some pages will come up with a dozen error messages.
- It is not up to date (without checking, I want to say it's at I14, but I'm not certain of that)
- Damage graphs generally produce PHP errors (not a problem, since it's just a convenience - the actual damage is still listed, it's just not graphed)
- Some effects list the decimal rather than the percentage for the effect (not a problem in most cases, since common sense should be able to tell you when the effect is off by two orders of magnitude exactly)
CoD isn't perfect. But then, it's also only managed by a single person. You're welcome to create a replacement if you wish. But it's far from "broken". -
...? Fallout is -30%
RI is also autohit, is a toggle, and has higher magnitude.Quote:My vote would be Quicksand. With -25% def, a 25' radius, a 45 sec duration, *auto-hit* and the ability to stack (does the -def actually stack? probably not...).
Maybe not the biggest contender in the value of -def but being auto-hit is a plus considering you're making it easier to hit the target without a ToHit check. -
Yes. It's also -damage debuff resistance. But neither of those facts are relevant to the topic...

I think Liquefy (Sonic Resonance) has the highest magnitude Defense debuff (-37.5% for Defenders unslotted), but it only has a 30s duration, with a 300s base recharge (~150s recharge with slotting, 60s recharge at the recharge cap)
Edit: Whoops, I forgot about Radiation Blast; Silverado beat me to it; Atomic Blast (the Radiation Blast nuke) has the highest magnitude debuff, but lasts 20s with a 360s base recharge, as well as a nuke crash.
Radiation Infection (Radiation Emission) is probably the best Defense debuff over time, since it's strong (-31.25% for Defenders unslotted) and is a toggle. -

Quote:This is the intention for the Super Booster series, and yes, the next Super Booster (SB5) will be mutant-themed in some way.So far we have seen 4 booster packs themed (mostly) along certain origins: Cyborg/Tech, Magic, Science & Martial Arts/Natural. This seems to indicate that the next booster pack will be mutation origin themed, but what comes after that?
I suspect, though I can't say for certain (since I'm not a dev), that if they continue the Super Booster series past 5, they'll loop through the origins again, with different themes this time. There's more to Technology than cyborgs, more to Magic than witches and stage magicians, more to Science than the mad scientists themselves, and more to Natural than just kung fu.
They may still release booster packs that aren't origin-themed, but I don't think they'll be under the "Super Booster" moniker (see: Wedding Pack) -
Quote:I believe Oneirohero was referring to "Martial Arts", the powerset, not martial arts the concept. In which case, Martial Arts does not use weapons. You can maintain your prejudice to make Martial Arts strictly describing the Non-Weapons Systems, but it is not strictly accurate except by twisting the definition to suit your PoV.
More on-topic, I think I'd prefer to see a Seven-Section Staff than nunchaku. If the animations could be properly varied, it'd even be nice to see weapon customization for it in the form of samjitbin (three sections; similar to nunchaku with a third rod added, though the size of the entire weapon would be more akin to a staff than to a fighting stick), qijiebian (titular seven sections), and jiujiebian (nine sections). -

While I admit that I haven't played on every server, I've also never been to Pocket D to find it totally empty, either.
