Quote:Yes, absent the recent gift from the devs, server transfers are $9.99 (+tax) each (one-way).One thing I am curious about that isn't related to the thread is why there's a $10 charge to transfer normally. Having transferred as many as I have recently it's obvious that it doesn't take much effort for it to take place, every transfer I've made so far (about 10) has been instantaneous.

Quote:Note that soon we will see a game enhancement that lets us know the location(s) of glowies and enemies below a certain amount required to complete the mission (maybe around 10% remaining). So it will be much less frustrating to find that last glowie to click, or those last few enemies to defeat in a "defeat all" mission.I really tend to agree with this. I depend on the mission map and knowing where I have been. When I'm alone I will even go down corridors I know are empty so that the map fills out and I know I don't have to look down there again in those instances where I'm looking for a hider (you know, it's a defeat them all and you've gone through the entire place and you need to find that one baddie hiding behind a crate somewhere).

Quote:That's because the set level range for the recipe you received extended to level 50. In that case, you get the recipe at your toon's or the highest level available, whichever is lower. It's not exact. I recall having a level 46 toon and rolling randomly in the 35-39 range. I ended up with a level 46 junk recipe
If you'd received a recipe from a set whose range maxed out below 46, you would have received the recipe at the set's max level.
The ONLY time you can specify a recipe level, as far as I'm aware, is when directly purchasing that exact recipe using Reward Merits. All other times you simply pick the range, which doesn't have anything to do with the level of recipe you receive -- that's tied (as above) to either your level or the set's level range. -
The three Warburg Nukes can take a mediocre team and make it effectively great (for a few minutes, which can make all the difference in the world), and can take an inferior team and make it mediocre for the same amount of time.
Since Shivans are quicker and considerably easier to get, I usually prefer those for soloing or small group activities. When the Nukes really come in handy is the higher-level TFs/SFs. For instance, the final encounter with the Freedom Phalanx in the Lord Recluse SF is made VASTLY easier for many teams (especially with less-experienced players) by doing the following:
1 - Summon all pets (i.e., MM pets, Shivans, Snow Beasts, Wolves, Amy Jonsson, etc.)
2 - Send one toon off to get killed so that Vengenace can be cast (if available)
2A - If more than one character with Vengeance is available, and another toon has Recall Friend, have the Vengeance casters "queue" the power on the deceased while out of range, then have the TPer bring the deceased into the massed group, causing all Vengeance powers to fire off simultaneously and stack
3 - Have everyone who has them drop the Bio Nukes, buffing everything ridiculously
4 - Pull Hero(es) and engage as per team preference
5 - Drop Chem Nuke(s) on tougher Heroes (particularly if a group of Heroes can be caught in a blast together)
6 - Enjoy seeing usually tough to defeat enemies fall ridiculously easily
This very general outline can be used in all sorts of situations. Nukes are a pain to get, particularly in multiples, but in my experience are very useful in getting a team "over the hump" performance-wise. -
Quote:Absolutely there is, and it's certainly fine to do (at least I've never heard an argument that tried to state that it WASN'T okay). The real question is:
Is there a way to share saved costume files and is that legit?
So that another person could design my character's costume for me without logging into my account.
Saving a costume simply creates a "costume file" that is saved in your CoX directory. It's a small file that can easily be e-mailed to other users. If that user or toon doesn't have access to pieces on the saved costume, however, errors will be displayed.
As always, much more info available on the wiki: http://paragonwiki.com/wiki/Costume_file -

Welcome to the game and forums, Sketch! Glad to hear you like CoX! Hope you get your issue taken care of soon, best of luck.

It used to be a viable alternative to the temp travel powers that can be earned (from Safeguards/Mayhems), until jetpack vendors were added (to Grandville and the Shadow Shard zones) and then I16 released the minimum level to access Hazard Zones. Now a character of any level can travel to GV or FBZ and purchase a 2-hour flight pack for 10,000 inf, a pretty obtainable amount for most.

Quote:Good luck fitting "George Washington Bridge" into 20 characters or less name-wise!The thing I've been wondering- I've got characters based on iconic landmarks, like Brooklyn Bridge and the Statue of Liberty. Would I be able to do George Washington Bridge as well? Of course my bio would make it clear that the character was based off the actual bridge, not a character whose name happens to be similar. That and his looks would be waaay different.

Didn't believe me last night, huh, Hera? Tsk, tsk, tsk...

Quote:I don't bother anymore -- I just go to The Flop in northeastern St. Martial, where they quite literally spawn in droves. I've been able to stand in one place and have line of sight to 8 or more of them at one time (many of the mobs in that area contain two Marcone bosses).Yeah, this one annoyed me. I've yet to find a good way to sort Marcones from Mooks when hunting for Gangbuster on PO.

Quote:However...if the OP hasn't claimed it, that could explain its absence.I'll assume that you have claimed the power from the veteran rewards list. The click on powers, it should be "Reveal" in the Inherent section.
OP, in the badge listing, choose "Veteran" and then scroll all the way down to the proper month entry for that reward. If you haven't yet claimed it, there will be a "Claim Reward" button present within that Veteran badge's border. Click it and the Reveal power will now show up in your powers listing.
Apologies if you've already done this, but I thought I should mention it just in case. -
Quote:I have to note here that Vent supports individual-user volume levels (both up and down). I've run into this volume issue as well, but Vent's easy-to-use interface allows me to usually bring them to the sound level I prefer very quickly.I used Ventrilo with my WAR guild and while I'm sure part of it was that there were 30-40 people on a city raid instead of the 4-6 people on a CoX team, I didn't like the sound quality at all.
Some people were extremely loud while some were very quiet and I for one experienced significant lag (being in Sweden was probably part of that) but I imagine that all depends on the server itself. Either way I approve of Voice chat!
Our SGs use TeamSpeak, and I've (obviously) used Vent quite a bit as well. I think they're really comparable to each other, with the huge difference of Vent's individual sound levels as noted above. -
I can give you my (completely just from my own experiences) take on this.
I "park" most of my toons in Ouroboros, just because it's fairly central travel-wise, and the Chronologist benefit isn't too darn bad. I've noticed that I receive a single recipe drop at the end of a mission well more than 50% of the time (I'd guesstimate about 60-70%), and I receive two drops probably about 10-15% of the time.
Not great drops, but like you said, more chances are better, and free is always nice. -
I think the folks bringing up an additional device to use are vastly overstating the situation for most. A fob can be easily stored physically nearby the PC(s) used to play the game and accessed only when needed. It doesn't need to be carried around (except for people who play in different locations, of course, and for them the physical inconvenience argument holds some water).
Sure, I'd happily use and even pay for an authenticator, given the relatively low cost and, since I play only at home on my own PC, the lack of any inconvenience whatsoever. I'd just hang it off the monitor or something and there it would be whenever needed.
More security just can't be a bad thing in my opinion. -
Quote:Really? I thought they did. Hmm, maybe I'm misremembering. Thanks, M.Last I knew, arena kills did not give rep. Base Raids used too, but they have gone the way of the dodo.
Anyway, on topic, if I'm able to be on when you do this, Astrolynx, I'll be happy to help out. I have a bunch of 50s that I can bring to wherever you're holding this (Warburg, I assume?) and help you guys out. Please shout out in the Victory global channels so I have a shot at seeing you guys are on and ready to go. Good luck! -

They've had them for sale the past two years and haven't sold out yet -- so it seems likely that they'll have them again next year. Anyone absolutely DYING to have them has had ample opportunity to arrange something to get it. And there are other online options as well. All that together, in my opinion, makes it anything but "hard to find".

Quote:Not entirely true -- global bonuses DO affect these powers. So on any toon with additional Accuracy, either power will generally hit more often than without. The other problem: The vet powers can't be slotted for anything, including Accuracy, so they attack at your base Accuracy/ToHit. The Ghost Axe is primarily when fighting against foes that drop ToHit DeBuffs, which makes the problem worse.
I choose Sands 100% of the time (with only 1 exception for character concept reasons), but used to mostly ignore it. Once IOs and set bonuses came on the scene, however, the Sands has become an integral part of my attack chain on all of my melee toons.
