    Moth Cathedral

Leon's face turned white at hearing the name Impervium Tower. He turned to the rest of the team with their own shocked looks.

Leon quickly took out his PDA and loaded an archive picture of Impervium Tower. He turned back to Pious and responded anxiously, "Reverend, I need you to confirm the identity of your attacker. Is this the same Impervium Tower you speak of?"

He holds the PDA in front of Pious to check the photograph.

The team look at each other somewhat confused at Pious calm attitude.

Leon says to the team "OK, lower your weapons but keep frosty"

The squad ether lower their weapons or outright holster them as they enter the building. Leon ahead of the group walks up to Pious and says "As I said, my name is Brigadier Leon Tasker, I am the lead combat adviser to The Dunelm Group behind me. Something has assaulted Talos Island in order to get to Dark Astoria and we can only surmise that whatever it was was targeting here. We have come here to investigate and assist in the situation, so I can assume that you are ok? Has there been an attempted assault here?"

    Moth Cathedral

Leon Tasker arrives at the Talos side of the Dark Astoria gate. He surveys the damage at the site while watching the guards that were attacked get loaded into rescue helicopters. He breifly talks with members of the Paragon Police who are still standing but they are unable to give him anything to help

Emma Tasker and Iron Works are in Talos looking at the devastation caused by whatever rampaged through.

Leon taps his communicator, “Iron Works, can you scan the damage and determine anything?”

Iron Works responds, “Insufficient data. System can not offer a conclusive report of what has caused damage to Talos Island.”

Leon taps his communicator again, “Emma any of the police officers you're talking to know anything?”

Emma responds “Not a great lot I'm afraid hun. The ones still conscious say that it was big, heavily armoured and didn't stop for anything. Picked up police cars like they were nothing and threw them at the squads with ease. Apparent it does not look like any of The Freakshow. Least they say it did not fit the profile. So we're still speculating what could have done this” she replies.

Leon responds “Ok, so we can safely surmise we are not dealing with Freakshow however it could be a hundred other things that have done this. I guess the only way we are going to get more intel is by following the path of destruction. Iron Works, what's so special about Dark Astoria?. Why would anything be so determined to charge in there?

Iron Works responds “Accessing database....searching Dark Astoria.....Dark Astoria profile loaded......Dark Astoria. Hazard zone requiring security clearance level to enter. All members of The Dunelm group have the required security clearance. Area overrun by Banished Pantheon and perpetual fog. All inhabitants are dead. Only active civilian site is Moth Cathedral, administered by Reverend Pious.”

Leon realises that incidences are happening all over Paragon City, and Pious' name has been mentioned in a number of them.

Leon responds “So considering what is going on in the City at this time, and that this path of destruction is heading towards the only active area of Dark Astoria, which happens to be the workplace of a man who's name is referenced quite a bit in what's been going on lately, can we assume what ever did this is aiming for Pious?”

Iron Works “System agrees with consensus based on current data. I have calculated a probability of 97.6% that this unknown assailant is currently targeting Moth Cathedral.”

Leon responds “I reckon what ever it is, it will not have taking it long to reach the Cathedral so we are working on borrowed time here! Emma, Iron Works, meet up with me here at the Astoria entrance ASAP. If we are going in blind though, we're going to need everyone here for this one!”

Leon taps on his communicator to open a channel to the whole of The Dunelm Group.

“This is Brig Tasker with a priority request to all squad members. Clean up whatever current assignments you are on with and regroup with me at the entrance to Dark Astoria in Talos Island ASAP.”
Within 30 minuets, the rest of The Dunelm Group make it to the Dark Astoria entrance. The Prince Bishop arrives first flying in from his patrol. Adam Dennison and Do Lo Might use their teleport powers to arrive while also carrying Steel House with them. Eleven and Elveyn quickly follow having ran to the entrance after being dropped into the centre of Talos by Freedom Corps.

The team line up in front of Leon ready to hear his orders.

Leon looks to Iron Works “Fire up Steel House Iron Works. Feel we are going to need him in defence for this mission.”

Iron Works nods and connects to Steel House over a secure network. Steel House activates and responds “Steel House online.....Defence mode activated”

Leon looks over the team as he continues “Ok team, our mission is to head into Dark Astoria an get to Moth Cathedral. Whatever came to Talos, its aim was to get to Dark Astoria and to its likely target Reverend Pious. Now you know there has been a lot going down in Paragon City lately. We've not been involved because we've been pre-occupied with other matters. Today though, we start to get involved! We get to the Cathedral, we get our intel on who did this, help the Reverend and put a stop to this destruction.....Ooorrraah?”

The team each launch their right fist into the air and respond “OOOORRRRAAAH!”

Leon responds “Let's go!” As he walks into Dark Astoria with the team behind him he taps his communicator to send a message to Dr Roberts back at base and Freedom Corps. “This is Brigadier Tasker. The entire Dunelm Group is Oscar Mike to Moth Cathedral!”

A member of Freedom Corps replies back with a good luck message as the team venture into the area. The bright day of Talos slowly fades until all that is left is the dark fog of Astoria. Leon and Emma sweep the entrance area with their flash lights turned on and their guns primed.

Emma remarks “They're not kidding about the fog! Can't see a bloody thing!”

Leon responds “Bishop, can you hear anything in the distance?”

Bishop moves ahead without fear or hesitation and attunes his hearing. He replies “Nothing. Other than the wind there is a deathly silence all around.”

Leon responds “Iron Works, can you scan anything?”

Iron Works replies “Negative. System is unable to scan area. Low visibility. Infra-red mode is also proving ineffective”

Leon responds “Ok then.....Adam can you at least sense anything in the distance?”

Adam focuses and replies “I am afraid not Brother Tasker.........Should have brought the worlds biggest torch......or vacuum cleaner!”

Leon responds “Heh! I doubt they would even help us here. This fog is supposedly not natural.”

Eleven moves closer to one of the buildings ahead of the team and notices that the damage to the building is the same as that in Talos.

Eleven remarks “Great!.......If this place wasn't busted up enough already they'll be all the buildings leading to the Cathedral with massive holes in them where this things charged through......Guess we can follow through to get there quickly.”

Leon quickly responds “Negative, its too risky to enter the buildings that have been hit. They could very well collapse on top of us”

Elveyn replies “Yeah...and you think that is going to bother most of us?”

Leon responds “Fair enough, aside from me, Emma, Adam and Iron Works, most of the team is not going to suffer too much with a building falling on top of them. However consider how much time it will take to fish you out of the debris and time is not on our side right now!”

Eleven replies “So we can't go through the building, we can't get flown or teleported there in case we run into a building in the fog, so what do you suggest we do?......A slight jog?

Leon responds “Well, yes! This blind we can't move any other way. Iron Work, do you have the co-ordinates for Moth Cathedral?”

Iron Works replies: “Confirmed......co-ordinates to Moth Cathedral established.”

Leon orders the team “Right then, we follow Iron Works on foot. We jog our way there as quickly as we can so that we don't run the risk of running into anything and having to quickly find a way around and lose more time. Iron Works, take point, Bishop stay close with him. The rest of you, we keep in a close, diamond formation pack. Me, Emma and Adam will take the centre behind Bishop and Iron Works. Eleven and Elveyn, watch our side. Do Lo and Steel House cover the rear.”

The team nod at the orders and move into formation and start jogging towards Moth Cathedral. Moving around buildings and other blockades they see the bodies of Banished Pantheon and Circle of Thorns that were unlucky to be in the way of Impervium Tower's charge.

Do Lo Might remarks “Crikey marra! Looking at this lot, do you think were going to find that Pious guy alive when we get there?”

Bishop responds “We have to hope he is alive, or better yet fighting and surviving and we get there in time to help.”

Eleven adds “Whatever state we find Pious in, we should find out what did this an stop it from happening again!”

    Elveyn “Ooorrah”

    Do Lo Might “Oooorrraaah!”

The team continue to move ahead and make good progress towards Moth Cathedral. All of a sudden Bishop says “Wait!”. The team pause and look ahead as Bishop slows walks on.

Bishop listens to what is ahead of him “I hear movement in the distance. Its a rumbling.”

The rumbling begins to be noticeable by the rest of the team. The surrounding buildings and vehicles begin to shake. Leon shouts over to Adam “What's heading out way Adam?”

Adam moves forward and stretches his right arm out to try and sense what is coming towards the team. Quickly Adam has a panicked expression on his face and shouts “GET OUT OF THE WAY!”

Out of the fog, the monster Adamastor charges down onto the team diving out of the way except for Bishop who stands defiantly and determined. Adamastor bring down a heavy right handed blow to Bishop but Bishop manages to catch the blow with both his hands. The ground beneath Bishop cracks as he tries to resist the power Adamastor's fist. Eventually Bishop powers the fist away causing the monster to stumble. Bishop flies up quickly and hits Adamastor in the face with a fierce uppercut sending the monster crashing to the floor. Bishop lunges towards the beast for a second strike but is swatted away by Adamastor's left hand sending Bishop into a nearby building. He emerges seemingly unphased and charges towards Adamastor again but not before telling the rest of the team “Guys! I might still need a hand with this!”

The team pick themselves up and ready to take on the giant monster but Iron Works shouts “Alert! Multiple hostiles converging on our location from all directions!”

The team look all around and begin to see mobs of Banished Pantheon come into view. One of them proclaims “There! They brought the death machine to kill us! Tear them apart!”

Leon loads his assault rifle and shouts to the team “ROUGH EM UP!” and fires and M30 Grenade into one of the charging mobs dispersing them. As another mob runs towards the squad yelling and cackling, Eleven steps forward and lets out a ferocious, rage filled battle roar and leaps into the oncoming mob. He gets onto his feet quickly and begins to beatdown the continuing flow of enemies with punches, kicks and fire attacks.

Elveyn charges in close by, with her own scream of rage as she slices her attackers with her Katana.

Adam teleports himself all over the rushing mob taking out enemies while shouting “WOOPWOOPWOOPWOOP!” Do Lo Might changes into his Granite Armour and simply swats away piles of Banished Panteon with is Stone Mallet.

Leon and Emma stand back to back firing their guns at the attacking mobs. When he thinks they are going to be overwhelmed, Leon grabs his wife and fires his jet boots to fly themselves into the air while dropping a frag grenade to take out the group below. A shaman manages to climb a broken van and jumps towards Leon and Emma but is caught in mid air by a leaping Steel House.

Steel House gets onto it's feet and unleashes it's Impervium Claws and begins to hack and slash the hoards of zombies surrounding the machine. Steel House then moves close towards its brother unit Iron Works as backup with Iron Works continues to fire blasts of energy at the mobs. Occasionally an enemy gets close to Iron Works but is punch away heavily. A large gathering of Banished Pantheon aim for Iron Works however they are devastated by Iron Works detonating a huge nova burst of energy. Iron Works then quickly rockets into the air and turns towards Adamastor still battling with Bishop. Iron Works locks onto Adamastor and fires a missile at the monster. Adamastor stumbles in pain as Leon and Emma fire their own grenades at the creature.

Do Lo Might juggernauts his way towards the monster and cracks Adamastor with his stone mallet in the back of the creature's left leg causing it to crash to the floor. The monster attempts to get back up but is instantly punched back down by an almighty strike from Bishop. Adamastor tries again to rise up but struggles to lift it's head. Do Lo Might strikes down his mallet square onto Adamastor face, finally knocking the creature out.

The team begin to regroup as the remain mobs flee. Two mindless zombies however still stumble towards Eleven and Elveyn. The couple look at each other unimpressed at the slow moving foes and then in unison fling their swords towards the zombies, stabbing them into their chests. As the zombies fall to their knees the two warriors causally walk up to the creature and at the same time snap the zombie's necks and retrieve their blades as they slide out of the falling corpses.

Leon approvingly says “Good work defending yourselves team, however this was a distraction we could have done without. Let move as quick as we can to Moth Cathedral!”

The team finally reach Moth Cathedral and rush up to the door. Leon pushes the door open while maintaining cover and shouts inside.

“Reverend Pious!.......Reverend Pious!...This is Brigadier Leon Tasker of The Dunelm Group. We have come to investigate the assault on Talos and here in Dark Astoria, please respond!”
  4. I posted the start of Tower's involvement in the IC Open Season thread as it was a reply to Bathory introducing the character to the scene.

The follow up and subsequent Dunelm Group entering Dark Astoria to investigate will be posted in the Moth Cathedral thread.

Apologies for any confusion caused. I am kind of entering this whole thing a bit late.

I have just posted up the mini story of Tower invading Talos. You make a valid point of it being the location of Citadel and Luminary as contacts.

I've tried to write it so that Tower landed in Talos but as close as it could get to the entrance for Dark Astoria. It still went through the police, vehicles and some buildings but its location could be seen as being too far away for Citadel and Luminary to get there in time before Tower makes it into Dark Astoria.

Or we say that while in game they are always standing there, in stories and RP they are likely to be in different places in the city doing different things.
  6. It was inevitable this day would come. With Impervium Tower reactivated and operating in the Rogue Isles, there would come a day when it would venture into borders of paragon City. To make matters worse, Paragon would be completely unprepared.

As far as The Dunelm Group were concerned, Impervium Tower was still lying disabled at the bottom of the Atlantic Ocean. Because they considered the case closed Impervium Towers' profile would not cross reference with any other organisation, even though Impervium Tower has fought Longbow in the past.

This however was exactly what Elizabeth Bathory wanted. Consumed with her desire to annihilate her nemesis Pious, Elizabeth willingly sent her bodyguard deep into enemy territory. With Paragon City authorities not having any understanding of Impervium Tower's existence or capabilities due to Elizabeth successfully keeping the unit a secret to most of the outside world, Impervium Tower would be unstoppable in his mission to kill Pious.

The unit would not be able to fly Moth Cathedral directly due to the City's war walls and Impervium Tower unable to sustain flight for such a length of time. Tower dropped into an area of Talos Island as close to the Dark Astoria entrance as it's could. Immediately the unit caused passing pedestrians to look on startled at the monstrous machine. Tower though did not acknowledge the surrounding crowd. The unit simply targeted the Dark Astoria entrance in the distance and began to charge towards it.

With Tower instructed to not stop for anything on its route to its target, the unit simply crushed or flung vehicles in its path and crashed through buildings as it charged in a perfect line towards its target.

Talos Island was left in shock of the sudden destruction left by Impervium Tower. Paragon Police responded to the crisis and quickly determined that Tower was heading towards Dark Astoria. On the highway that pointed towards the Dark Astoria entrance the Paragon Police Department quickly set up a barricade with the faint hope that they could stop Tower.

As Impervium Tower charged down the highway he scanned the police presence and responded.

" Threats detected........ Paragon City Police identified......... Threat assessment........ Insignificant!"

The police began to fire at Impervium Tower but their weapons were useless against it. Tower simply grabbed the nearest police car and threw it at one part of the blockade. Tower turned to the other part of the blockade and charged at the remaining police and swatted them away as if they were mere insects. Tower quickly resumed his charge for Dark Astoria.

The entrance guards primed themselves to defend their position. They were fully prepared to do their duty but hearing that the police blockade had been wiped out so quickly, the guards were not confident that they could stop Impervium Tower.

As Tower reach the island leading to Dark Astoria, the entrance guards caught a break when some Devouring Earth creatures appeared out of nowhere and lept onto Impervium Tower. It gave one of the guards enough time to send out a distress call to Freedom Corps and any Meta Beings listening in on their secure channel.

The Devouring Earth proved to be no match against Impervium Tower as the unit ripped the tree creatures apart and then pounded the Lesser Devoured creature onto the ground and crushed the creature's head with a powerful foot stomp.

As soon as Impervium Tower focused again on the entrance to Dark Astoria, the entrance guards began to fire their weapons. Just as the unit did with the police blockade earlier, the entrance guards were swept away with great ease before entering the Dark Astoria.

As Impervium Tower entered the area it stopped in order to scan its surroundings.

"Scanning.........Visibility levels low.........Infra-red Mode....... Failed to improve visibility......... Target coordinates already set...........Continuing to destination"

Despite Impervium Tower not being able to see far into the thick fog it already knew the coordinates for Moth Cathedral and simply continued to charge towards its target again crashing through buildings and crushing anything in its path whether it was vehicles or members of the Banished Pantheon or Circle of Thorns that infested the area.

Back on Talos Island the Paragon Police Department continued to send out messages for assistance after Impervium Tower's attack.

Eventually the police received a response,

"This is Brigadier Leon Tasker of The Dunelm Group responding to Talos Island distress call. I am currently with a small team and we are Oscar Mike to your position to offer assistance, over."

I am ready to make a short story for the IC post for this RP which will have Tower fly into Talos from the Rogue Isles and try to get to Dark Astoria by foot.

However I want to know the boundaries I should be keeping within as I write the story. I was going to write that Tower would be met with some resistance from local Police and Freedom Corps but sweep them aside with ease as it carries on moving to Dark Astoria.

However, is there anyone in situated in Talos that I should know about that is not going to be simply swept away so easily?

Otherwise I was going to allure at the end of the piece that someone from The Dunelm Group was going to react to news of devastation in Talos and start an investigation. Have not decided whether it will be Dr Roberts or Leon Tasker through news or requests to investigate are sent to them or Bishop hears the troubles and flies to Talos to investigate.
  8. Anyone from the North East (Durham, Sunderland, Middlesborough, Newcastle etc) that is going to have a look down?

If so are you planning on driving?

I ask because if you are driving or being driven down I am willing to chip in on petrol money and will bring my own PC with me to the event.

If not I'll simply come down by train as I did for Omega Sektor but will have to have dibs on one of the 15 PC's

Yes that was a sweet moment, finished off with a classic bit of Heroing putting out the fires in a nearby building.

Much thanks to Mod08 for allowing some of the heroes the chance to clean up.

Oh, and for the record Captian Mako could only beat The Prince Bishop 2-0 once his mate Scirocco got involved!

That and nicely timed Mapserve errors!
  10. Hello all.

Been away from the game for the past few months, largely due to issues in moving into my new flat. Anyway since fire mastery was made available for Scrappers I have been looking forward to a respec of my main toon, Eleven. A Level 50 Martial Arts/Super Reflexes Scrapper that was originally designed to be something out of Mortal Kombat/Street Fighter.

The thought of no longer having to have seperate Fire Blaster and MA Scrapper toons to cover RP meets was sounding sweet. Trouble I had though when Fire Mastery came out was how to get the powers into an already tight, High Defense IO build without taking out powers that were too usful to drop, or killing stats.

However, I have now got Super Booster IV with Ninja Run.....which is super sweet!

That surely free's up powers that I can drop to take Char, Fire Blast and Fire Ball. All I need is help with a plan. After three and half years I still seem to have the ability to make a gimped, ineffective PvE toon as a result of thinking about character concept too much.

So once again I seek help with build plan.

What follows is the current build plan I am playing right now so you can see the powers and numbers that I currently running. I have already have most of the IO's in the plan with only the odd IO still to get in a few powers. Ideally I would not like to drop any of the MA powers. I am not going to miss Conserve Power much now as End Rechg is being covered nicely with IO's. Super Speed can go due to Ninja Run.

  12. I seem to be getting the hang of placements now. Certianly much easier since the MA update which shows the spawn points on your chosen map.

There is one spawn that is bugging me but not sure if anything can be done about it.

I am using the President Marchand's Office map on a final mission with the goal being to arrest Countess Crey.

I would like her to spawn in the office or on the open roof.

Thinking "back" would do it turns out she spawned on the second floor as there is one red X on that floor symbolising back spawn point on the entire map.

I looked at the map preview in the editor and noticed that most of the map was all white meaning "middle" but with a small batch of green for "front" on the 1st floor. I figured the floor numbering was a little off like some of the Arachnos maps.

When I started a solo test though I realised that it was meaning the first room on entry however she did spawn on the roof so I though, sweet, leave it at that.

Just done another pre-publish test though with a team and she spawned in one of the corridoors on the second floor.

Anyone tried something similar with that map and get the spawn in the office or roof everytime?
  13. Remade Impervium Tower from a SS/Elec to SS/Invul Brute and got him back to Lv 50 after starting Friday at Level 25.

Breifly played as Elveyn, the female alt version of Eleven on the SUnday night and got up to Lv 41.

    Not a bad weekend overall.

Cheers to all I teamed with, in particular The Court red side for obvious reasons.

    MA animations

    Hmmm.

I was keen to see how the new Martial Arts animations were going to turn out given that my main is MA/SR.

Punches were deffintaly needed. Having only kicks always felt like the toon was missing alot in him.

So its good to see the new punches. However I now somehow would like to see an option to set power animation to random. I don't particularly want to be forced to have a power be ether a kick or a punch and thats it. I don't really want to get rid of the current kicks but don't want to miss out on the new animations ether.

So here I hoping that there is a random option down the line. Would be cool to hit a power and get one or the other each time its used to add varity.

Now I am liking the SS animations! Will be nice to have some seperation from my WP/SS Tanker and my SS/Invul Brute. I'm thinking of giving the Tanker the new animations with Knockout Punch being kept as it is as I feel the new double axe handle launch animation suits the Brute more.
  15. I have always remembered them saying a DXP weekend will finish at 9:00pm on a Sunday and it never has. Its always been something like 3:00am on the Monday or 7-8am on the morning.

Ok, might be a bit different these days but I can just see it happening as it has before.

Hume's teaching of a rock flying to a ceiling when you drop it not withstanding!

Keep up FFM Avatea has quite often lately offered costume codes as part of prizes in player organised events Quite a few lately iirc.

Though i personally want an igneous costume code!!! As long as they DONT get something totally unique then i'll keep to our random contests

Oh, THOSE type of events! I thought she meant actual physical events, where NC actually showed up and had a stand and we all had a massive ball.. Like Omega Sektor...

Yeah... miss those. Never to be again it seems.

    Colours !

Fire Blasting Eleven will finally have blue flames as was always ment to have.

I am used to or already like the colours of powers on my other toons but there are a few tweaks I want to look at. I like the colour of the Energy Blasts Iron Works has generally but fancy trying out a slightly darker shade. His pom-pom fists though are going to have to be changed to match his blasts.

Same goes for "Super" Eleven's pom-pom fists. Will go for the bright gold colour as the rest of him.

I agree with most here about Hasten. Hopefully it is one of the pool powers that is looked at for customisation as I would like to colour that matching the toon I have it on or make it as invisable as possible if I have the power on a toon but its aura does not suit it.
  18. I am Eleven and I am defiantly a Scrapper personality. I like to hit things in the face....really hard!

I have only just recently had my subs auto paid for so I won't be able to be completely severed from here for another 6 months if I wanted to leave for some reason.

3 year vet that began the night Zidian Zidan thought it would be a good idea to close his playing career by delivering an epic head butt of devastation to someone that might have said something iffy about his sister.

I am a mild alt-aholic (see link in sig) and tried to be a regular rp'er but had to give up on that due to not been able to guarantee I would be online every night any more.

Only 4 of my toons are not Lv 50. One of them never will be as he is a NPC acting as the role of SG director.

Right now let’s just say I am in the middle of a strategic withdrawal and considering the battles going on around here between people leaving and people staying, that is probably for the best.

However there is always some un-finished business so I am sure I will be back playing regular at some point. I don't usually make a big deal when taking breaks simply because I know I always return and I have always been a one to just casually slide out of the room without a fuss and sneak back in later without making a scene.

Only saying something now so that people are aware of my intentions are and avoid suggestions of being an un-socialable goon.

I do not hold grudge against those leaving as I can understand their reasons and it is no skin off my bones if they want to make a thread allowing people that know them a chance to say "All the best marra".

Guess I am still burnt out from the three days solid I spent on my first published arc when MA first came out that I can't bring myself to log into the game right now. The way people have been to each other on the forums today has not helped ether, has to be said.

If there are any attempts to drag me into any of the fighting and I'll warn you now, I'll simply feel like forearm smashing both sides of the battle in the face!

If I am honest, the one thing that has likely been keep me away as I have already allured to a few times today, it is being caught up in the excitement of becoming 7 year old again soon when reuniting with my first one true love!

But I will likely make a return to regular playing in the not too distant future so I'll see ya, when I see ya.

  21. Don't be a stranger hun. Admittedly I am really bad when it comes to not dropping in on people on XBLive or Facebook just to say hi every now and then, so rattle my cage on the odd occasions and say "How's things?" to me.

I don't aim to be reclusive, just seems to happen when I get distracted by something other than CoH.

    Review Thread

I really appreciate the glowing review you have given there Col. I have to be honest here I have not been online much since the arc was published because firstly building the arc over an intense three days burnt me out and I could not bring myself to get back into the game. After this review I do have a renewed passion to get back online and make a start with my villain and neutral arc ideas I also have.
I’ll offer a detailed response to the review now although there is nothing really I can argue with if you have given me 5 stars. Most of the points you have brought up seem to be bugs that I’ll probably flag up with game support.

Your contact is Dr. Light, I mean Dr. Brian K. Roberts
Dr. Roberts' former student, Dr. Wily, I mean Neil Christopher Wilson.
Bass, I mean Zero, I mean Impervium Tower

    [/ QUOTE ]

You would think I would take offense to these remarks throughout the review but actually I was LMAO at them. Most people that helped me with beta testing also mentioned quite a bit of similarities with Mega Man although assuring me that it was not a bad thing. The irony is that I can’t admit to been influenced by Mega Man because even though I was aware of the game’s existence, I did not own or even play any of the Mega Man games as a result of not being allowed a console in my childhood (We were strictly a Commodore 64 and Amiga 500 household). I have only purchased Mega Man 1 and 2 on my Wii’s Virtual Console in the last year, after I had already rolled the three cyborg characters in CoH. I can see why people would see a connection between the two but I can assure you that I am no way influenced by Mega Man. It’s still charming to hear though, hehe.

(Sidenote: The Author should consider making a custom Crey group with mobs from the Paragon Protectors faction included in it, for variety from the Tankfest.)

    [/ QUOTE ]

This came up in beta testing with other people and I thought I did have this sorted out so possible bug here. There will still be Tanks but the only Lt’s should be ether sharpshooters or PP’s and bosses should be nothing but PP’s. I’ll get this flagged up unless anyone has any suggestions I could try out.

    [ QUOTE ]
Your goal is to meet up with Do Lo Might, a Something/Stone Melee Tanker who hits a little too hard

    [/ QUOTE ]

Do Lo is Stone/Stone. I was forced to turn off most of the Stone armour powers available to him as AI will simply not turn off rooted to move around between mobs. Do Lo for me represents things I would like to see implemented into the MA in the future. Selecting specific powers in a powerset for critters for one, so that they can access all powers that you feel is suitable while dropping though which might not be suitable or simply make the critter unworkable. The other thing being able to allow more detailed specification of critter level depending on aspects such as challenge level and number of team members.

Given that in story terms Do Lo is still a rookie I am almost tempted to knock him down to LT level except that in an 8 man team with larger mobs would be more useful at boss level. In sense I have that issue with all the inserts in the arc whether to have them as Bosses or Lts so not to overshadow the players while not being an unnecessary weight on the team by being useless. Advice from others would be very much appreciated on that matter.

You're sent to arrest Black Scorpion, who conveniently enough is out on an operation at the moment, though the map is an Arachnos Base map for some reason, regardless.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Looking at a bug here as going back to the editor it is still set as a Longbow base as intended. I’ll flag this with support.

    [ QUOTE ]
I'm not entirely sure what Eleven's powersets were, because the map was small and Black Scorpion was around the corner - don't see much through Gang War. One of them was Martial Arts, I think.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Was aiming for the “true” form of Eleven which would be a fire ball throwing martial artist straight out of fighting game. I had tried tweaking as much as I could to get the balance right but must be a case of the two just not workable for a MA critter.

    [ QUOTE ]
Anyway, Scorpion went down easy enough (one of the weaker EBs/AVs in the game)

    [/ QUOTE ]

Would the Lv 54 version of him that I have now unlocked be better suited here or would that overshadow the final boss fight do you think?

    [ QUOTE ]
Until, conveniently enough, one of the Dunelm Group's archrivals, Senshu Hitoku (Hidden Tyrant in Japanese?), has contacted Dr. Roberts.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Col once again shows his sharp knowledge of the Japanese language!

    [ QUOTE ]
The goal is to defeat the AV, The Blood Countess. So this is an insert from The Court of The Blood Countess, a RPVG on Union. I have no idea what powersets The Blood Countess was meant to be, because my pets and the three rescuable allies (DB/SR Senshu Hitoku, Energy Blast/Energy Manip Iron Works, and Claws/Something Steel House) overwhelmed her in seconds, despite conning as an AV. I saw a Dark Blast or two fly, though.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I’ll first explain in a DVD extra, behind the scenes type way how Liz Bathory came into the arc. Impervium Tower ended up getting invited in the The Blood Countess VG at a time when I was still trying hard to be more involved in the RP scene. Considering that there was so few RP VG’s around at the time and given the obvious gothic nature of the VG, it seemed a good fit.
However these day I can’t commit to anything on the RP scene because RL matter are always getting in the way, intentionally or not but I still sometime fire up Impervium Tower and catch up with Liz with what’s going on. When knowledge of the MA was out and everyone know it was coming, Liz had already had ideas for arcs based around the VG and was keen to use toons of VG members.
So I was asked if he could use Impervium Tower in any arcs he created based around The Court, with permission to use his Liz Bathory character in exchange for anything I did and I agreed. I felt it was only fitting that VG members help each other out with stuff and knowing that I had always intended Impervium Tower be the main focus of an arc, this deal meant I could use a potential AV boss that is significantly relevant to Tower’s backstory.
My original intentions were to use a custom “Court” group of vampires, werewolves and zombies of original design which when coupled with the Necro/DM Master Mind AV would have healing powers spamming quite a lot justifying the need of 3 decent allies to take the AV down. However adding the custom mobs at this point pushed the file limit way over so I had to stick with making a custom mob containing the in game vamps and wolves for the desired effect.
It seems though that by doing this the AV is too easy to take down. Looking at the setup I am tempted to demote Hitoku to a simple rescue and leave, knocking the ally count to two and maybe changing Liz’s powersets considering that mobs will already be around the toon so no need for the MM spawning so I can add something else to make the AV not drop as quick. Do you think that would be much better or again would I end up overshadowing the final boss fight?

    [ QUOTE ]
There's no Souvenir, and there's a few typos (Rouge Isles)

    [/ QUOTE ]

Not surprising from me really. No matter how many times I proof read I always still miss spelling and grammar errors. I shall break out the fine tooth spell check comb on it. There is a souvenir set up on completion but I hear that this is a common bug which has already been flagged by a number of players. Here is the text anyway so you get to see what I wrote in it.

    Impervium Spike

This spike made from Impervium, was snapped off during battle from the head of the technological monster known as Impervium Tower.

You fought the metal beast after assisting The Dunelm Group, under the direction of it's Director, Dr Brian K Roberts, in following Impervium Tower's path of destruction around Paragon City and the Rouge Isles. There was no motive to its attacks and no one group of either side of the hero or villain spectrum were specifically targeted. It was just pure, unjustified violence towards anyone unfortunate enough to run into, which is really only to be expected from such a maniacal creation.

While you were successful working with members of The Dunelm Group during the investigation, you could not help them in the final battle with Impervium Tower. Yet despite easily defeating The Dunelm Group and everyone else aiming to take down the brute, you managed to prevail against the odds to the extent that you managed to break a piece of its armour in your winning blow.

The Dunelm Group will live to fight another day and they show you the greatest respect and appreciation for all your efforts. Dr Roberts felt that you should keep the broken piece of Impervium Tower as a souvenir.

Just as The Dunelm Group's warrior Eleven does, keep this as a "Trophy" to display somewhere important to you. So that you can look at it and remind yourself of another hard fought victory. . . . .and so would be enemies can look at it and become fearful of you and your power, ensuring that they think twice before they challenge you.

The author inserts didn't steal the spotlight from the player at all
All things considered, one of the best self-insertion focused arcs I've seen so far. Doesn't hit you like an Ego Arc at all.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Even though I have said I am willing to look at their level set ups again I am glad you felt this way even on their current settings. Indeed the arc is a way of introducing myself and my characters to a wider audience but I would have taken them out or the entire arc down if they undermined player characters.

Again though Col I appreciate reviewing my arc and giving it 5 stars and I would welcome further advice on elements that can still be improved on.

I know, I know.....I am a horrible and insane perfectionist!
