  1. 1. I cannot say for sure, because if I DID receive an e-mail that wasn't spam it was deleted when I deleted the spam. I don't even bother to look at the sender or the subject anymore

    2. Not in 4+ years.

I think the only way to really curb it somewhat, as someone already pointed out, would be to just remove the Ae building from MI, PO, AP, KR, and GC.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Steel Canyon:

/b will someone port me to the tailor?
/b will someone port me to the AE building?

    I don't see the difference.
  3. In CoV (since the OP is a Mastermind), everyone can have a jetpack from level 1. Even in CoH, if I don't waste my Safeguard jetpack -- doing things like flying for 15 minutes to fight Steel Canyon fires or whatever -- I can make it last until the 40s when the jetpack is available to heroes.

The only time I can think of that a villain might need Group Fly would be in RWZ or Cimerora to help out some hero who used up his flight pack too soon.
  4. I can't decide if I like KO Blow or Headsplitter (on my scrapper) more. With Headsplitter I lift my broadsword over my head and slice down, knocking the foe straight into the ground. He just plain crumples. It is awesome.

Last night I was facing Freaks and I hit one minion with Headsplitter and it crit, defeating him in one blow. He then rezzed so I hit him again and got another crit so down he went again. I thought "...and this time, stay down!"

On the other hand, KO Blow lets me really feel like a superhero.
  5. [ QUOTE ]
Also, you forgot powexecname soul extraction.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I didn't forget it. I realized that the OP would want to wait to activate it until he actually got in range of the pet
  6. This works for toggles, so it may also work for targeting. The problem would be making sure the commands executed in the correct order. Otherwise you may find yourself following your previous target before the new target command is issued.

    Anyway, this works:

    /bind a "+down$$powexectoggleon Deflection$$powexectoggleon battle agility"

This turns on Battle Agility when I press "a" and then turns on Deflection when I release it. The "+down" basically makes the bound key look for pressing and releasing as two separate actions You use "+down" because you don't want to start running or jumping when you press the key. +down will make you drop if you are flying though.

    So you could try:

    /bind a "+down$$follow$$target_custom_next defeated mypet"
    or
    /bind a "+down$$target_custom_next defeated mypet$$follow"

Play around with it and see?

One good thing came from this: Finnegans Wake sounds like an excellent read, and I shall have to procure myself a copy when I have the funds and time. Thanks Acyl: The More You Know!

    [/ QUOTE ]
Not that I would ever discourage anyone from reading, but before you get all set to have a go at Finnegan, here's an excerpt from the 8th chapter - called the "Anna Livia Plurabelle" chapter

    [ QUOTE ]

Beckett said of Finnegans Wake that "It is not to be read. It is to be looked at and listened to. His writing is not about something. It is that something itself." Joyce's own wife once asked him "Why don't you write books people can read?"

That being said, it is a wonderful PUZZLE. He uses over 70 different languages in the book -- whole paragraphs are based on Polynesian slang. The chapter from which this excerpt is taken is woven through with the names of almost every river on the planet (sometimes written in such puns that you have to untwist the language to see what he means). You actually feel like a genius when you parse out a particular passage and realize that you get all of the references, and then feel like an idiot when you learn that you missed how they all fit together.

Joyce once wrote to a Swiss friend that since he wasn't Irish he wouldn't understand certain parts, but because he was Catholic he would understand others. Since he was a musician he would relate to some passages, but his lack of cricket knowledge would leave him lost other places. He was writing for an audience who would understand that a specific Irish politician usually wore a top hat or that a local actor had an affair with a noble's daughter.

And Joyce scholars consider Finnegans Wake to be easy mode compared to Ulysses. Joyce concidered it his most acessible work. Read it out loud, it helps.

I've teamed with mousegirls. It was hilarious, especially in the sewers.

    [/ QUOTE ]
    Was it me?
  9. I keep it open even though I don't have a pet, because some AE allies show up as pets. That makes it easier to rescue them if they get in trouble, or let them die if they are stealing my experience.
  10. Also remember that there is a 30 second time limit on costume changes. So you will find yourself toggling on hover for a quick hop and changing into your flight costume. Then when you are done hovering you can't change back.
  11. When using Scrapper.Broad Sword.Disembowel against a destructible object (like a Superadine Lab), all attacks use the "miss" sound effect. Hits do damage, but do not play the "crunch" sound effect. I don't know if this happens with other knockup attacks.
  12. [ QUOTE ]
I'm always the last one to the mish but I have one of the fastest loading machines.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Someone has to be last.

Seriously though, if you use a direct path between missions and don't stop between every one to sell or visit your base or buy insps you shouldn't be the last one to the door. I have a bunch of characters with no travel powers at all except the temp flight pack. They are frequently the first ones to the mission because they move immediately and directly to the next mission along the shortest path.
  13. Don't higher level enemies also have more attacks available, making -recharge less effective at higher levels?
  14. Also this was before ED, so optimum slotting was 1xACC, 5xDAM. But AR/DEV has Targeting Drone, so they could slot 6xDAM.
  15. [ QUOTE ]
okay, just a single, simple question. How in the heck can a chain link fence block teleportation? I mean, c'mon you are disassembling your molecules in one place, and re-assembling them in another...physical barriers with gaps shouldn't be an issue

    [/ QUOTE ]
The same way they block line of sight to an enemy ("Haha, can't see me, I'm behind this chain link fence!") and weapons fire ("Flamethrower! Quick, squishies hide behind this chain link fence")
  16. I combine it with autorun and toggling on Superjump.

    /macro GO "powexectoggleon Super jump$$up 1$$autorun 1"

"up 1" is the same as "++up"
"autorun 1" is the same as "++forward"

I have it as a bind, but it's the same command. Now when I press autorun it starts me running forward, turns on super jump, and I leap up and forward, all with one keypress.

What was it you were thinking of?

    [/ QUOTE ]
She was also a fragment of a personality of a complete maniac, named "Guy Incognito".

    [/ QUOTE ]
Nope. Guy Incognito's name has a different origin. Actually, it was because "Incognito Guy" was taken.
  18. [ QUOTE ]
Quick tangent, is that a "Nuke 'em till They Glow" reference I see in your sig?

    [/ QUOTE ]
Not a direct reference, as I don't know what "Nuke 'em till They Glow" is. But who knows where some of these ideas come from? What was it you were thinking of?
  19. As a constructive suggestion, assign specific individuals as Magi spotters. I prefer to use bubblers, debuff defenders, or blasters for this, as they are usually in the center and don't need to watch their teammates.

Set up a macro "targetname magi" and have them spin and spam it until a Magi appears. Then they call out in the raid channel "Magi at 3 o'clock!" and everyone piles on.

    Sports Pack?!

    [ QUOTE ]
    -Baseball
Ok, you know the Mystic Fortune power right? Well this could be a power where you click on a player, then click the power and suddenly you are in a pitchers stance with a glove and ball like a pitcher staring down a batter right before the pitch, the prompt comes up to the "Batting" player..."Superguy would like to throw you a pitch, do you accept?" They click YES and a bat appears in their hands as they stand in a batters stance, you throw, he swings, and sometimes you hit a homerun, sometimes you get a STRIKE! If they hit a homerun confetti pours down on him or something. If you get the strike then confetti on you I guess. Not sure what kind of bonuses should be associated with this if any, but maybe yall can help?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Babe Brute heartily endorses this suggestion

    [ QUOTE ]
    -Sports Costumes
With the sports pack you also get access to sports uniforms, pants and jerseys and the pads that go with them! Baseball, basketball, football, lacrosse, hockey, etc. You have the option of wearing the associated pads under the uniforms, or just wearing like, a football jersey with your choice of whatever else. Also, the option for black marks under your eyes like football players, cleats, and if you use weapons, then Golf Clubs and cricket bats and things like that as an option. Also sports helmets too.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Baseball is pretty easy to replicate, except for the numbers and name on the jersey.
  21. Raid with smarter people.

On Virtue, Magi get locked down fast.
  22. Also, the market is not cross character. If a member of my SG wants a recipe I am holding in the auction house on an alt, I have to leave my mission/group, log out, log in, get to a WW, and hand over the item. Certainly not anywhere near as useful as a base bin.
  23. Yeah, there are a lot of game mechanics changes that this idea would require. It's one reason I haven't worked up a formal proposal for Suggestions and Ideas.
  24. [ QUOTE ]
    [ QUOTE ]
On some fights you needed a Complete Heal landing on the tank every second. Whole chat channels were set up for raid clerics to call heals in order to let the next cleric in the chain know it was her turn.

    [/ QUOTE ]
That sounds horrific. Glad I waited for CoH, before getting into the MMO shtick.

    [/ QUOTE ]
It was pretty monotonous, especially in the Shadows of Luclin days when a single boss fight could be an hour or more of chain healing. Melee was autoattack, and many enemies were 100% magic resistant.

Melee characters turned on autoattack and read a book.
Wizards cast their one unresistable spell and then waited for it to recharge two hours later.
Mages summoned mana rods for the clerics
Clerics pressed their heal spell and waited for their name to pop back up in the rotation to cast it again.

I have to admit, though, that not much could compare to being the Main Tank on a boss fight seeing the entire legion of healers focusing everything on keeping you alive. The thrill of being backup tank and watching the main tank fall and thinking "I'm up. Hope the healers shift to me fast enough."... Taunt!
  25. [ QUOTE ]
FF acts like personal shields in Dune. A Field of Force which causes objects and energy with momentum to be pushed away.

The fact that we have energy shields that behave in an ablative fashion in scifi was always a mystery to me

Given how magnetic forces behave in reality the dune/CoH force field makes more sense to me.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Ablative shields, great term! I wish I had remembered it.

My problem with Force Fields is that they can be overcome with.... accuracy? Is the bad guy shooting at the point where the FF hits the ground and hoping the bullets ricochet under the field? Aim really well with that flamethrower and you can get through my shields?

In traditional sci-fi, the force field is 100% protective until it gets shut off or overloaded. Sue Storm can hold anything back until the effort gets to be too much and there is a catastrophic failure. Star Trek: "Forward shields at 37%, Captain!" (although I guess they are more like Sonic Resonance because *some* damage gets through even when shields are still up). In many video games, enemies with shields usually just take more hits to kill them.

Ablative shields would reflect that. Do enough damage to them before they are reinforced and they fall. The perfect implementation would require that the damage come in as a single attack, but that would be either annoyingly overpowered or incredibly useless.

Of course, none of this explains how you can shoot out of a force field, but are protected when inside.

Anyway, the only reason I brought it up was that I was reminded of it by "pre-emptive healing". This would have been the closest thing to it. "Here, have 1000 health. I'll give you more when you've used those up."
