Quote:There is probably a good number of people with in each community that know each others' name because of a such thing...Fail argument is fail. *IF* I ever attended a gaming convention, I certainly wouldn't be walking around with a nametag saying "Hi, I'm X on Y Server!" In point of fact, the one time I did attend any sort of convention, my nametag (only worn because it was required to get past the guards for some of the events) had the equivalent of a character name on it. That name was registered with the event organizers. So yes, someone with access to the records could take that ID and find my real name. The casual jerk with a camera, could not.
Anyways you missed the point...
We are one of the open communities in this regard as is WoW and STO... and we're all saying no...pretty stupid to go against it. -
Quote:It's not like 3 of the most likely demographics to say yes have said they don't want this type of thing STO, CoX, and WoW...I didn't mean that he has a say in the matter, just that, ya know, him being an employee, would have some insight into whether or not NCSoft would ever consider something of this level of idiocy.
Why do I name these 3 in particular?
All three of these MMOs have communities that have get togethers so their identities are pretty much out in the open as it is so... yeah... -
Some of us just don't like our real names. I could care less if you know my real name is Matthew Merlo or that I live in Michigan. I just like my screen name more... it's kinda like a call sign in various militaries... Everyone know you're Sargent Butters, they'll still call you by your call sign because it is generally more representative of you and/or your group than your regular name and it's easier to communicate to or about the specific person.
It's especially helpful in large groups where multiple people share the same name... I hated HS classes when someone would say "Matt" because 3-5 guys would turn and look in near every class.
Seem to me the entire "lifting of the veil" is more harmful to the emerssiveness of WoW especially since it is known that famous people and business execs play the game. You likely create a problem in some area where some people just stop playing because they don't want to be hounded and some guild/groups might fall apart when the dynamic they once had falls apart because it's suddenly revealed that the guild leader is some nobody who works for a low level ****** in the group that noone really likes bu puts up with all the while some famous person in the group suddenly gets bombarded with PMs and such and is listened to more than the guild leader.
Sounds unlikely but with the number of people in WoW and it's known draw of people I am pretty sure things like that will happen...and it will likely cost blizzard a number of those people who are not addicted. -
Aggelakis I don't think that works very well with Going Rogue coming... as someone already mentioned... run hero side then run villain side...you now have a problem.
As far as the whole Manticore... Durakken + sleepy + Heat + Broken AC = Durakken gone more insane. -
Quote:Those dates mean nothing when dealing with time travel...Gerhardt Eisenstadt is confirmed to be over 100 years old (and closer to 200 than to 100). Nemesis is titled the Prussian Prince of Automatons; Prussia was effectively abolished in 1934, and absolutely abolished in 1947. (Anyone born after 1934 would be unlikely to call themselves Prussian.)
I suppose it's possible that Anton Jaeger could be old enough to be born in Prussia (he'd be around 70+ years old, but his shapeshifting powers could give him a youthful appearance), but he's always called a German villain, not a Prussian one. Justin Sinclair, on the other hand, is not old enough to be alive while Prussia existed, and he's got English origin, not German.
We've also been told that the Praetorian counterpart to Gerhardt Eisenstadt died a happy old man in Prussia, suggesting that Nemesis was born before 1890.
Considering Manticore's technology is more along the line of Batman (y'know... actual modern technology) vs. the steampunk of Lord Nemesis, I find it unlikely. You're pulling at straws.
We don't know the events of the future... anyone that lives that long could easily change for aesthetic reasons or for practical reason yet unknown... -
Could use it for a TF/Hamidon/Rikti Raid/Zone Event notifier
For the first 3 just have it so someone can say they are starting or putting together one of them
The last could just be auto posted.
The first would require a new data table which is pretty easy to create and the second would just require zone event messages to be posted to the table. >.>
Quick simple, extremely useful... -
Quote:Silos. Manticore, and Nemeis all has higher tech than average. Nemesis has no birth date, nor does Silos... It isn't hard to imagine that Manticore in the future develops cybernetic technology, goes back in time and starts changing the world as nemesis but discovers later this leads down the wrong path and then becomes silos...
No, Silos is Nemesis. It's not even a question any more. And neither Manticore nor Protean are Nemesis, considering Nemesis was born generations before either of them.
but whatever ^.^
The question becomes if Silos is just messing with everyone... what's his goal? -
I know, I know... It's a nemesis plot...whatever...
spoilers...
We are lead to believe that red and blue side happens at the same time and in the same universe, but a quick read of the Task Force and Strike Force reveals that Silos is either messing with everyone or CoV and CoH are taking place in alternate dimensions. What do I mean?
Silos tells villains to help Recluse succeed.
Silos tells heroes to help the Freedom Phalanx succeed.
If we are to believe it's the same universe this would seem to mean that Silos is just messing with all the heroes/villains OR it is assumed that only one hero/villain gets to Silos and the Villains side comes first and then at some point Silos decides Heroes are right...
Also Silos says that he is in some way responsible for the destruction of the universe and then says Manticore is perhaps what the world's existence is hinged on...
Could Mender Silos be Manticore or Protean from the future? Could Nemesis be Manticore/Protean from the future working to change time? -
your screen shots... never measure from a look up or looking down perspective... there is an illusion that happens because we see ourselves as the viewer and measure heights based off our own heights... so when you look down you will measure everything as smaller than you and you look up you will measure everything as bigger
Proportions are either 8 heads or 3 heads. I forget how to measure with 3 heads, but there are a number of characters built with it, such as wolverine. 8 heads is universally standard. The reason you see a difference in anime is more or less just a visual trick thing. But even with the 8 heads rules it doesn't always follow because some people have short torsos and long legs and others the opposite... look at Tyrant's picture on the official going rogue site... he's got a long torso and short legs which extends the arms.
The reason Linkara was ******** about that image has more to do with he fact that western artists like to say they draw more realistically to slight people that draw anime but more often than not... western artists are the same or worse than anime artists in that they can only draw surface pretty and that ends up causing tons of problems which are readily apparent in most western comics... especially the 90s which is where a lot of his review books come from. -
Quote:Generally speaking, yes, but height isn't 1 to 1 with head size. There are plenty of people with much larger heads that are smaller than average. So, what you're saying is that taller people have bigger heads?
It's not really something that is noticeable unless you are going around measuring heads. I mean do you notice a difference in head size between someone who is 6' and 6'6"? Of course not. and when you are drawing if you use the 8head model it's 6 inches divided into 8 parts which is .75 inches per head length. Add another 6 to get to 7' and it's still only 1.5 inches and that really doesn't look all that different. -
btw...what you are saying about a women that are 7' is wrong and stupid. People, unless there is something is wrong with them, grow proportionally and person that is 5'4" looks no more stretched than someone that is 7'1".
The reason you may think other wise is because a lot of people that you see that are smaller/taller have some kind of genetic disorder (even though some might not like being told that it is a genetic "disorder"). Those without those disorders look the same as "normal" sized people. This I know for a fact as I know/knew people on both sides of the spectrum at the heights I mentioned.
As far as Wonder Woman ... She is 6'5-7' as she is generally shown to be taller than Batman and Superman whom I believe are 5'10-6'5" but I haven't looked it up recently so meh. -
That would be called... robbing the grave. She's a 90 year old woman you know... have some respect young man.
-
If you were going for a more brutal stronger character I'd say go shorter than average. 5'10" ish is the average height of those who are stronger than normal people while the average is 6-6'2", but if you are going for the 'tall=strong' myth then you can always follow the Diana, wonder woman, model which is 6'6"-7'

Quote:There are so so many things wrong with everything you just said and ironically I'm not allowed to talk about them here. The Anzacs did noble service in the cause of defending democracy, for which I, as a free American, am grateful. Good on you all.
I will relate this anecdote: An American in EnZed was asked about the 4th of July by his Kiwi co-workers... why the big celebration? "It's the day we celebrate whupping the Pommies!" he responded. An impromptu party promptly broke out, with the Yanks and Kiwis hoisting toasts. I was bemused by this story.
It is appropriate for all freedom-loving peoples everywhere to celebrate. "God Bless America" and "God Defend New Zealand"! -
Quote:It's definitely my sleep schedule as with my sleep schedule a lot of times what happens is after I have someone join I never run into them again, or as one of us is logging on the other is logging off.I'm going to be frank and, honestly, probably rude. But assuming you act the same way in-game as you do on the forums, it may not be your sleep schedule that turns people away from your SG.
As far as YOU not liking me or the way I "act" that is on you and any further comment would lead to inappropriateness and thread jacking as well as thread moding so let's not. Keep it to the neg rep comments I'm sure you have given before. -
I don't think accepting anyone in is a bad thing... not the best thing either as it can be dangerous to your stuff, allowing it to get stolen...
Big SGs are kinda stupid in my opinion... Let's say you can only have 8 storage bins and 100 people... well...
When you have 8 people, that is 30 spaces for each.
when you have 16 people, that's 15 spaces for each.
When you have 32 people, that's 7.5 spaces for each.
When you have 64 people, that's 3.75 spaces for each.
When you have 100 people, that's 2.4 spaces for each.
and you can say that with more people you can get more storage quickly but that's useless if you're allowing everyone to access it and if you are...then you are not actually gaining storage space over all.
And as far as recruiting, I have my own SG... been trying to get people to join and stay in it since I started it, but because it doesn't have everything in it just yet and I have an odd sleep schedule they leave so meh... I gave up...maybe in several years I'll get people to join and stay and by then my base will be complete. -

Advertising...
It won't get out of places I don't want them like on videos...
and won't get into place I think they'd be cool like CoH...
It'd be so easy to do some advertisements... like Out Back Steakhouse and KFC...considering we have ads for Infront steakhouse and Major something's Fried Chicken. -
A scale model of all of Paragon City for $20? you are either thinking super small or in separate pieces... I'd assume a high quality model of all the zones... I would think something like that would be in the rang of $1000, but I don't know much about models either... I just think it would be cool...
I was thinking about trying to make a lego version...but no possible way i could do that. -
I thought I might have imagined it, but if someone else saw it... then it was the Baron Jacket.

Over the course of the last few weeks I've been scouring the site and come across a number of pages and images that are broken in the game info section...
There are several image misalignments in the know your adversary section
Clockworks' top secret page is broke
several images are broken... should be easy to find with a quick click through. -
Curious would you like and... how much do you think you would pay for a
Scale models of paragon city, rogue isles, and/or pratoria? -
the problem with that is that new players don't know about the free updates... returning players though...
-
you know... all you should have to do is take an older game disc, and install it, then do a compare between the current build install and the old disc install... but of course to do that we'd need to break some rules >.>
Edit: And if for some reason you don't have the old builds on hand for some reason... I'm sure some of us could grab the old .pigg file and send it to you >.> The collector edition discs are probably the best for figuring out when thing were added as they are the most likely to all be from the same time period and thus have the same build across the board. -
