Meanwhile, Penny must have learned aggro management from her buddy Fusionette, because she was picking a bunch of fights we could have avoided. When I finally got to the end of the map and entered the portal, it took me to an ENTIRELY NEW ORENBAGA MAP and I had to go all the way through that one too.

We finally get to the ritual site, a voice tells us that Mister Wade is going to kill us, so it's BACK through Orenbaga to find the assassin, only this time there's a bunch of Rularuu inside. So we go back through the halls, squish the assassin (she was an Elite Boss level soul mage, as near as I could tell, but she imploded, so I don't really have any idea of what her powers were.) She told us that Psyche had already been dealt with and she was there to kill us. So it's back through Orenbaga again to return to the ritual site.
I haven't run it yet, but that just sounds really unpleasant. I assume you ran it hero side, maybe it won't be that bad villain side (since villain side I could see you potentially not needing to escort her), but eh, I wouldn't put it past them.

I sorta miss doing speed katies, heck if it weren't for itrials shifting the endgame away from reward merits/tables I'd probably want them back. I miss doing them in 14 minutes, and everything that entailed getting such a time. And I miss duoing/trioing them with friends, each of us logging in 4 accounts, and getting ridiculously disgusting amounts of rewards.

It sucks you can't sell it. I'd love to see the outrageous amounts of inf people would be willing to shell out just to buy it directly.
  5. The last time I had to fully dl and patch coh when I came back for freedom it was something like a 50+ hour download, no joke, but that's mostly because of the unfortunate circumstance of where I live.

But yeah basically as Lothic said, the staged download let's you start playing sooner, instead of having to wait for the entire thing to finish.
  6. Heh. It's amazing the freedom phalanx has been around as long as they have, considering how fast they're dropping now.

In another game I play where 99 is the maximum level, level 93 is 50% of the way there. There's another skill that has a maximum level of 120, and getting to 99 is 1/8th the way there.

It is literally maddening how much dedication it requires.
Personally I don't mind long grinds, I just can't stand long grinds that can be completely invalidated if you're unlucky. This was the main reason I quit a certain 4 letter korean mmo. Cause at endgame your armor would have 6 slots in it, and each "enhancement" you would put in said slot would cost you a fair price. However slotting an enhancement in the armor had a chance to fail and if it failed it would delete ALL the enhancements you had in the armor. So basically you'd have to get 6 successes in a row to fully socket each piece of your armor and if you failed at any point you had to start all over and failing on your 6th slot wasnt uncommon. It was by far the most infuriating system in an MMO I've ever had to deal with.

It does boost the good drops, you just didn't notice them because your sample size is too small. Alternatively another person could come here and get 5 purple drops while under windfall, but chances are if those purples were going to drop, they would have dropped anyways.

Windfall affects the drop rate of very rare recipies by 50%. Let's say Purples have a 0.1% chance to drop. Under windfall you would have a 0.15% chance to get a purple drop. Let's also say common recipies have a 50% chance to drop. Under windfall your chance for a common to drop would be 75%. The increase to common recipies is greater than the increase to very rare recipies, but it's still proportionally larger.

This is the same thing all over again when you complained that you were getting more commons/uncommons than rares/very rares in Keyes. Keyes did get a boost to it's rare/very rare drop rate but that didn't make those rare/vr drops more common than commons, which is fine.

Is the windfall boost to drops too small to be worth buying? Yeah probably. Is windfall worth using if you get it from a paragon reward? Yeah, absolutely, especially if you use it in the right environment. It's not going to make very rares drop any more than commons, uncommons, or rares, but the OVERALL amount of drops you get will increase by about 50% as it is stated subject to RNG and outliers.

Your control group has 3 samples (which is better), but you still only have 1 sample size of windfall, and all tests done in a non optimal testing environment (there's alot of variables).

If he says he uses windfalls on ITFs/UGTs and gets enough shards/threads for it to be noticeable enough for him to validate using a windfall in those instances it's about as valid as the data you have.

what about the nerdrage post about how spending money on anything you can do so easily in game is silly.

I hate doing tip missions (especially the ones that arent hero>hero) more than almost anything else in this game and I still wouldn't spend even 100 pts to switch alignments when I can do it so easily in game.

Even with no travel powers, the hollows was incredible xp back then (when xp was alot harder to come by normally). Frostfire and Atta were farmed all the time and the risk:reward was balanced. You did have to use your head when getting to the mission, but once you got there the xp was great. Then when safeguards came out, it hit pretty much a perfect state - go pick up your raptor pack in KR then clear out the hollows. Then War Witch nuked all the flavor and prestige of the hollows and (imo) ruined the zone compared to what it originally was.

  17. It's not an issue specific to Chrome, everyone has issues staying logged in right now.
  18. You want 75% fire dot; 25% -res Reactive Interface. The fire damage does stack. It can stack up to 4 times* and it shares a stack cap with other players that use the same interface.

*There have been mixed reports of how many times it can actually stack varying from 4-8, but definitely at least 4.

I'm going to make up numbers to get the point across. The numbers on loot distribution may or may not be right, but the point stands. Windfall is a multiplier, the higher the number you're multiplying the better it is.

    Solo(100% drops go to you)+windfall = 100*1.25 = 125% drops
    Duo(50% drops go to you)+Windfall = 50*1.25 = 62.5% drops (the other person still just gets 50%)
    Full team(12.5% drops go to you)+windfall = 12.5*1.25 = 15.625% drops (the other people get 12.5%)

When I used up the windfalls I got from paragon rewards (havent used any points to buy them) I went solo at +3x8 on my ss/fire. I literally got so much stuff I probably spent around 20% of the hour selling stuff on the auction house cause I kept filling up my inventory so fast and I flat out deleted alot of the salvage and popped all the t2/t3 insps like crazy. If I ever got more I would probably set something up with addition toons outside where I could just unload stuff so I could spend more time killing and getting more loots.
  20. Pro-tip: use windfalls when solo and set map for x8

I got more threads during a pre-beta Underground than that, without the windfall.

Yes, a plow ITF would have more foes killed, but the character doesn't need an extra chance at Incarnate Shards.
    1) Drops are split between your team

    2) Various amounts of time fighting AVs and/or not fighting and/or wiping

    3) As mazey pointed out, you did one run (insufficient data), as well as not providing a control group.
  22. A UGT probably wasn't the best place to use the power.

Yeah, not to use. They're just great for holding set bonuses. Infact they're even better for ranged toons since it allows them to slot melee sets whereas they normally wouldn't be able to. Same goes for Brawl.

Boxing is rarely a wasted power pick. Mule that baby up with 4 Kin Combats or 5 Absolute Amazements, or heck I've even used it for Mako's 3% dmg on a pvp stalker once.
