Quote:Yup, basically whenever you get your hands on the ones you want to use and you're lvl 10+ you can slot em in and they'll be just as effective once you hit 50.well im assuming "as soon as possible" since they are attuned and work from lvl 10 to 50
you will never outlevel them, they will increase effectiveness as you level, pretty much no downside to slotting them really early -
Quote:They're the same set bonus, you can't have more than 5 of the same set bonus.Quick and easy...
I don't suppose the 10% recharge on the catalyzed ATO sets doesn't count against the Rule of Five bonus, does it? :3 I know, silly question.
..........but lie to me and make me feel better.
For the catalyzed ATOs that means you can have either 5 purple sets with +10% rchg or 4 purple sets and an ATO set that gives +10% rchg. But you can't have 5 purple sets and an ATO set that gives +10% rchg.
I'm not nice enough to lie about it, sorry D: -
Quote:My ping is fine, I pretty much have no lag, no latency whatsoever. Unless someone is watching something on Roku. I just can't download anything at a decent rate and my bandwidth isn't great.Heh, so I'm not the only one with molasses racing my pings?
Basically the way it was explained to us was we live something like this:
<-----l.....O.....l----> Where the O is where we live and the outside areas is where comcast gives service. It's really stupid. -
Would be nice if the hero side equivalent (sutter) gave the one time Notice as well at the very least.

Quote:It was on live too for quite a while. Made traveling super easy for a rogue. It's been removed since.Oh the beta, a door near Ghost Falcon connected to the transit system. (At least for a while, haven't checked lately, I found it trying to ToT.) It needs to be added to the game full time! (VIP/Premium exclusive access?)
Also, 5000 posts.

Quote:This. Basically you can make an OPINION that the windfalls aren't worth buying/using/existing/whatever, without facts leaving the discussion open to other people's opinions OR you can state a FACT that windfalls aren't worth buying/using/existing/whatever with sufficient data to back up said fact (meaning a large amount of data, not all of which has to come from you) and then you can present that data with an open discussion about those facts. The problem is when you state your opinion as fact with minimal data to back up your claims and then flat out reject anyone else's opinions on the subject that disagree with your own.You could always try option C: don't make statements about the game with little to no evidence to back you up. If what you have available isn't sufficient, then don't rely on it.
But I won't add anything else, since I think the majority of the helpful information in this thread has already passed. -
Quote:Yep. Focusing all your dps onto 1 target is much more effective. No time spent moving between targets, no time target regenerates while dpsing clones, regeneration is less effective the more dps you have.Actually, they mentioned that you should just IGNORE the duplicates and beat him down. That's how I always do it. I've soloed him on multiple tanks and my tanks are NOT built for damage output (except for one).
Basically as long as you kill him before he hits 3 clones you don't need to bother with the clones. And if you're popping reds you shouldn't hit 3 clones no matter what build you're using.
Likewise my pvp ill/emp built entirely for support had no trouble with trapdoor. -

If it's not the 28th, my money is on the 6th.

Quote:While it's pretty balanced it's also feels like it would play out far too similar to willpower to warrant an entire new set of it's own. It needs something that sets it apart from willpower other than getting it's regen buff far later and not as good as RTTC until you get IOs.Mind Over Body - per the willpower set
World of confusion - per the renamed Blaster Mental Manipulation powerset.
Telekinetic Armor - NEW - a new second armor that provides resistance to energy, negative energy, and psionic damage (I figured the devs like holes so I left out toxic resistance)
Indomitable Will - per the fortunata power
Foresight - per the fortunata power
Mask Presence - per the fortunata power
Psychic Awareness - NEW - Basically a Heightend Senses clone
Drain Psyche - per the dominator power in psionic assault
Psychic Overload - NEW - Basically a Strength of Will clone
I haven't done the 6th SSA yet so I haven't seen penny's powers yet so I can't comment on the melee set. -
I tried to find an image to reply with, but I couldn't find any epic enough to represent the epic fail of this necro.

Quote:Some hard numbers would be super nice, since all 3 of the corr sets that I have are going into fireball on each of my corrs once I get around to respeccing them. No, he means base recharge.
Yes, but according to Arbiter Hawk, the proc chance is reduced in AoEs, according to the target cap and AoE size. We don't have the actual formula for it, though, AFAIK, so I'm not sure exactly how much the proc chance is reduced by.
If it averages out to be less than or even equal to the posi proc, then that would be super lame. -
I doubt they would do that. They already do that villain side where you're forced into being a pawn of arachnos which tramples over many character concepts. People being forced into the FP would probably generate equal hate.

Nope.
Activating this power will increase your Influence gain by +25%. Also, this power grants the user a greater chance at earning Medium and Large Inspirations, provided the user is either a VIP or has the appropriate Reward Level for these Inspirations to drop in the first place. Additionally while this power is active, the user will have drop rates for Invention Salvage, Recipes, Very Rare Recipes, Rare Boss Recipes, Incarnate Shards (if level 50 w/ Alpha Slot unlocked) and Incarnate Threads (if level 50 and in an Incarnate Trial) increased by 50%. NOTE: Salvage and Recipe drops require the player to either be VIP, have Reward Level 7 or own an Invention License. Incarnate Shard and Incarnate Thread drops require the user to be a VIP subscriber. These effects last for 1 hour. -
Alot of people wanted "Double XP weekend" temp powers. The devs probably felt (my guess, I don't pretend to know what the devs are thinking or feel on any given subject) giving the full effects of double xp on demand like that was probably too much for a single temp power. Honestly I think what they gave us: xp boosters, 5 patrol xp bars, and windfall temps was a fair enough compromise. Sure the patrol xp bars could maybe do for a reduced recharge and the windfall could potentially get away with a 75% loot bonus, and the xp booster could be 33%, but that doesn't change the fact that they're still consumables that have limited uses, and it will be impossible for them to be super amazing because of that.

Quote:As Hopeling mentioned the damage procs are actually quite nice due to the proc chance. Also keep in mind that Corrs and Blasters were limited to just 1 apoc proc and the glad javelin dmg proc (which is quite expensive) for ranged attacks and only 1 for TAoEs.Honestly I was disappointed with all of the ATIO basic damage procs. Not because they are bad or anything but simply because some AT's got some interesting mechanic with theirs while others got... woohoo a damage proc like any other in the game.
There's also some weirdness with some of them... like controller and doms having a set that goes into a control power... but provides a damage proc or a +dmg buff... I mean... i cant realistically put these sets into an AOE control because I wont get the proc effect often (long recharge times) and even if I did I'd get so little out of the proc from that it hardly seems worth it. And some doms and most controllers use their single target hold as part of their attack chain where the proc WOULD be good but you cant get the 6pc bonus if you want to actually enhance the power for damage. Honestly for those two AT's it seems like the procs should be control related not damage.
AT's that got it right with ATIO procs imo are Kheldians, Stalkers, Brutes, Scrappers and Tankers. I would have included dom's here as well if their set was designed for a damage power.
AT's whose procs are more interesting than a plain dmg proc but might not be as interesting as I'd hope would be Defenders, Soldiers of Arachnos, Masterminds
AT's whose procs are just unimaginative and in some cases borderline useless? Controllers, Blasters, Corruptors, with Dominators only being here because of the what type of powers their set is designed to go in.
I would have liked to have seen the last group of procs be more AT centric like say Controllers having an improved chance to critical with their mez powers, Corruptors having their scourge damage increased, Dom's simply having their set be designed for their damage powers instead of mez powers... and Blasters... well I'm a bit head scratchy there... More dmg seems silly... but shoring up areas they don't excel at seems like a nice idea... like adding a debuff or a self buff to the blast the power is slotted in.
The Dom proc is one of the best ATOs they came out with. Yes, it can only be slotted into a control power, however for a dom this isn't all that bad. With this proc they can potentially deal more dps using an attack chain with a mezzing power than an attack chain using just dps powers. 60%+ dmg buff from a single slot is borderline OP, and the only reason I don't say it's flat out overpowered is because I don't want to see it go away. All the ATOs are mostly based around the AT's primary not secondary. Doms are a unique case in which they are effectively an AT with 2 primaries, and this ATO really put glue on that concept. -
Quote:Technically you're just supposed to make a new thread on the same topic if you want to bring it up again, and in said thread you could potentially contain a link to the old thread. The thread may be past its sell-by date, but the issue it brings up is still relevant.
As to the topic I think a better solution would be to add a UI window that listed all the SSAs, TFs, Trials, etc that have reward tables with lockouts and then list next to each if you have no lockout on rewards currently or if you do state how much time there is until it expires. It's not specific to SSAs, everything in the game with a reward lockout has this issue, it's just more noticeable with SSAs because it's hard to remember after 7 days when you completed it last without writing it down there is no ingame indication unless you do an extra SSA and leave the reward table in your toon's face for a week. -
Quote:It's not pointless, you just can't, it's impossible to use the enhancement boosters on a proc. The steadfast +3% defense proc might be an exception because it also enhances the resistance of a power, but otherwise you can't use them on procs.Nice tips. Thanks!
I was wondering something else. Am I correct in assuming that enhancing a "proc" such as steadfast global defense, miracle recovery, karma -knockback, etc, is entirely pointless, since the proc does not vary with level?
Quote:Also, do you think Cinders with only 4 basilisk gaze IOs, each given the +5 treatment, is sufficient for the power? I lean towards no, but I am looking for places in my build to skimp slots.

Quote:Mmmm, I really need to put some maths into this. Currently my Mind/Fire dom just has 5 unbreakable constraints in Dominate, but with the new +dmg ATO proc I've been trying to figure out how I wanted to include it, especially because you can only slot it in control powers, which is super aggravating. Originally I was thinking I wouldn't be able to have a hold strong enough to keep AVs permaheld, have strong damage output AND hold the +dmg proc, but I also hadn't considered +5ing the basilisk gaze set and the apoc dmg, which should give me everything I want.A pure damage purple with +5 boosts it to 66% damage in one slot. For control characters with decent damage in their holds, I like using 4 basilisk's gaze, one +5 purple damage, and a dam/acc HO. This caps damage, and gives really good hold, really good accuracy, and good recharge.
I like you. xD
Working mids as I type this: For my mind/fire dom Blaze>Incin>FB does 1099.8 dmg over 3.87 secs (nonarcanatime) or 284.18 dps. Blaze>Incin>Dominate with 98% dmg enhance in dominate with 68% dmg buff coming from the ATO proc does 1168.6 dmg over 3.77 secs or 309.97 dps. All that on top of sleet. Hahaha. -
The first SSA can be completed in 6-7 minutes, I highly doubt it's faster than that.
-
There is alot of evidence that supports Positron becoming the new leader and very little supporting that it would be BaBs, other than that they shared powersets.

The best use I've found for enhancement boosters is toons with single slot hasten. lvl 50 IO at +5 makes it much easier to get perma hasten with just 1 slot and doesnt suffer from ED.
My troller just has a numina heal/rech(+spiritual) in Earth's Embrace, so +5'ing that was nice too, even though it was easily perma without it.
It's also nice in long recharge powers like Benumb and Heatloss, the bit of +rchg from the +5 makes it a bit easier to perma.
