Quote:We need copypasta in here. But I'll sum it up for you. It's got nothing to do with putting in a little thought and effort. I've been playing for nearly 3 years now and the server is dying. You don't have to be a rocket scientist to see it. I'm only putting forth an idea and asking your opinion. All aspect of Infinity are down, players, teams, ae, tf's, pvp, everything. Personally I have no problem continuing as is, but wanted to see the thoughts of others. : D I'd rather two low load servers merge rather then a low and high one, but I doubt any merger will come anytime in the near future as it is.
1) Someone posts this thread/idea/concept once a week.
2) Some people like small servers. Getting rid of small servers by merging them is bad.
3) If you don't like your server, move. If you aren't willing to move, then it's not someone else's job to fix the problem.

Doesn't this just mean it'll be easier to rep grief people you don't like, since there's no evidence of it, no way to track it, and no way to report it?

Quote:I've heard a lot of people suggest this, but thinking about it, it makes no sense. It'd be even better having walk toggled gave you an endurance discount...ya know, kinda like an opposite of sprint.
For one, Walk has no recharge so you could run it anytime you wanted, unlike Rest. I for one don't want it to gain a recharge because of a balance mechanic like that.
Two, it doesn't really make sense to gain recovery for walking. Simply because... why don't you get a recov bonus when standing still? Truth is a lot of people would turn on WALK to stand still and gain recovery. It would make even less sense to make them HAVE to walk. So if we're going for logic, it would make more sense to add a passive recovery bonus to players who aren't moving. And I really doubt the devs would do that.
You can always pretend it's a recovery bonus when it detoggles you though! -

Quote:Short answer: She's a widow.Base speed is 14.32 mph. To get to untoggle-able base speed of 30 mph, you'd need 109% speed buffs from IOs. So... how'd you do that?
Long answer: Swift with one level 50 IO is +49.8% run speed, putting her at 21.5 MPH. Mental Training with one level 50 IO is another +49.8% run speed, putting her at 28.6 MPH. Stamina is slotted with Performance Shifter, which gives +5% and puts her at 29.3 MPH. TT:L is slotted with Gaussian, which gives another +5% for a total of 30 MPH.
Granted, I could swap Swift out for Hurdle and be at 22 MPH. But the thing is, I LIKE her running so fast to get around and inside missions. It's just annoying for RP purposes. -

Quote:Most of that stuff is so-so. But...My goodness... Mouse, please understand I mean this with the utmost respect, but I really, really, REALLY dislike very much everything in that list. I don't want to get into detailed explanations, because there's no real point, but I just gotta' say, I pretty much disagree with you completely and would actually hate to see a lot of those done to the game.
I'm against deleting stuff, even if it's not popular. If the epic fiasco showed us anything it's that the cottage rule exists for a reason. Even if datamining shows that only 5% of Blasters bother to take X power, deleting is a bad idea. Especially when you start doing that to the three dozen powers that datamining showed aren't that popular. I'd rather see a redesign/revamp/upgrade to lame zones than just flat out deleting them. They don't hurt anything to keep existing, and even if I don't like them myself, I recognize other people's right to like them.
The one that I really, really disagree with is the stores idea. Not only does the BM/WW system work just fine and allows people to set prices how they want and make everyone happy, but I've played Ragnarok Online. I know how messy and irritating personal stores are. It's also way harder to find what you want. It's extremely disorganized and there's no real advantage to changing to such a system. -
One of my characters has a base speed of 30 MPH. It's really annoying trying to position her to sit down and stuff.

Quote:Doesn't seem likely. BABs commented that they're going to allow jumping while walking in the next patch. Leads me to believe they'll want to test it. Plus they still have to fix the global slow reducing walk speed. My guess is we'll get walking on live next Tuesday at the earliest.OMG OMG OMG ! ! !
We're getting a patch tomorrow. Presumably, it will give us walking.
They could always surprise us and throw it live tomorrow though, and fix bugs and add jumping later. -
Quote:As an RP addition, it probably won't see a whole lot of us in places like Atlas Park outside of the burst of interested people for the first couple weeks. Not sure what your definition of "a lot" is, but I know "several" people who couldn't give a rat's tail over it.
I predict that it will make a stir for a short time, until folks get tired of the SLOW-MO aspect. Then, as another poster mentioned, it will get tossed into the dustbin with the rarely used fly poses.
However, unlike fly poses, you move slow while using it and can use it in confined spaces and, shock, let other people see you using it. As such, the places where it'll see most use will probably be places like Pocket D, bases, costume contests, and any other sort of social gathering type place where people are just hanging out and talking rather than shooting badguys with flamethrowers. -

Right now, Elec Control.
What I'm really looking forward to is side-switching, DP, and demon summoning. Those are all confirmed. So I want Elec Control.
I would say costumes, but we already saw that we'll be getting at least something for costumes. And I doubt they'd make an expansion and keep Jay busy without putting out a bunch of costume parts to go with it. -
I'm too lazy to go look up the source, but someone did say at HeroCon that they're doing Elec Control. No ETA right now though, so we don't know if that means GR, i17, i18, or i48

I believe the CS policy is that as long as it wasn't deactivated for more than 24 hours, you're still in the running. Go ahead and ask them. But a friend of mine was told she's okay. She was briefly deactivated.

Quote:Yes, this. I crash out when accessing the market after playing for at least 45-60 minutes. Also, accessing SG window, training, and switching toons. If I do those things when I just log in, it's no issue. I have to play for a while first. I'll also crash just doing normal stuff after playing for over two hours. Also, a lot of people have been talking about a memory leak in the game and that does seem to be the case. If I try to access Wentworths after several hours of play, it will sometimes crash the client. It didn't used to do this.
For the record, I have 3 GB RAM. -

Good plan, and like I said I let mine vary when necessary/possible. But my basic plan works nearly all the time, including PUGs with people I don't know. I know with VGmates that we can put together a good team with just about anything, but I don't have that same guarantee with PUGs, so I make sure I have enough support toons that it will probably work.

Not everyone plays for "content" or even defines "content" the same way. And I don't think there are any animations that could be added that would qualify as content anyway. So if animators (BABs) have free time and are fooling around, they can either do things like this, make new emotes or alternate attacks for power customization (which aren't content), or twiddle their thumbs. Which do you prefer?
