  1. Yeah I figured the Mac add ons will be a bundle and not a recuring cost...leading me to think that the TP to door power will have a TP to Base sized recharge on it.

As for taking a power just to get to the travel power: I use hasten a lot, but then I'm impatient. I barely use SS, I think it's fun but chaotic, and unless you have Hurdle as well you're pretty stuffed with any big jumps. I dont take hasten just to get to SS, I take Hasten because it's vital, to me.

I love Sj and fly, they're the two I generally go for, so CJ is a nifty bonus...same with Hover...they're all good powers.
  2. Yay I wondered if this would be asked again.

It's a neat solution. Provided you can set them teams as closed and still make your own decisions about who joins I'll be all for it.

Under that system it would be less necessary but I'd still like it if the Star on your team tray showed up on the search window. That way you know who to ask straight off.

yeah yeah yeah I know it's all been asked for before but it doens't hurt to remind.
  3. I love the idea, but who to give up...?

Delph still comes out every now and again for various TFs, Darlis the same. No way would I give up Sic, unless I could keep the character playable, and the same goes for Booble.

At a push I would probably be able to give up Delph, he's great fun, but I could probably do without him if I had the chance of his entry into CoXlore.
  4. That's very true, Hasten is almost essential on most of my toons.
  5. I can understand your concerns here, but more stuff doesn't instantly equate to better builds.
I'd be very surprised if the Devs started creating paid for packs that give you a sustained advantage in combat. Okay the option to teleport to a mission will be very handy but I'll bet the recharge on it is enough to warrant only scant or urgent usage.

I like the jetpack it saves a lot of trudgery early on; I may refresh the purchase next month, I may not, but it is nifty. True it does mean you can concentrate on build rather than travel power, but then again it does run out, and it is extra expense. I've spent the time myself getting the temp powers for the characters I'm going to play, so they will have that extra mobility should I choose not to repurchase.

As for the cossie packs: just because someone has a few extra bits that you dont they aren't necessarily going to do anything interesting with them. Great designs have been produced since at least I6, when I joined (can't guarantee anything before then so no speculatey mecicle. :P)

My own opinion is that old chestnut: the Devs are getting more revenue to plough into better stuff for us. I dont mind paying for the stuff I want, but I wont feel my characters are inferior if I dont buy anything.
  6. Well, in the absence of any official word for why the dead are rising (maybe Hell is shut down for redecorating, or just building an extension) why not come up with one.

Besides in the films no one has a clue why the Zom's are about. Ernest discussion on bleak TV shows in these things are all just speculation, maybe something much bigger is afoot.

Personally, I blame Aspartame...we were warned.
  7. Sounds like a reasonable idea to me. I know some folks aren't bothered about the wedding pack, but I'm sure a few would be swayed if you got all 3 goodies in one hefty package.

Who needs money, just come for the funnies, ya lightweight!

Ayw we can smuggle you in under our hefty winter coats, seeing as Brumland is likely to be snowed in by then :P
  9. Definitely agree with the safe zone around trainers. You should be able to sort out your powers etc without being bothered by the dead. Maybe they should go for the Black Market style idea: when you're stood next to the various Trim Shadys the zombies spawn and then despawn leaving your characters unharrassed.
  10. I was gonna go to both Memorabillia and Omega, we shall see what happens in place of Omega but I always felt Mem was a safe enough bet.

Glad it's confirmed, and glad that so many folks appear to be turning up. Should be good fun
  11. Hehe yeah I have to keep Defiant Events in a seperate Tab for all the madness that goes off in there nowadays. Not sure if it's an open channel or if it requires an invite to join....should imagine it's the former.
  12. Yep NEC in Brumland, best bit is playing on the Travellators between the various buildings :P

I'll be there as per usual, with a heap of Elflings and Elfling friends. Looking forward to it, I'm saving my money for the colouring and the sketching and...GAH I need more money...

Aww Z that sucks...hope you can make the next event.

Colouring? Does that mean Kat will be there, hope so she's great fun to chat to
  13. Holy jebus: so the coming storm will mostly constitute zombie vomit and cadaver peices?....Is that why the Rikti invaded?...To actually try to prevent this threat by wiping out all the potential zombies before the doc got chance to create them?
  14. Aye fights in all areas of the game are down, with a few exceptions, to reaction speed; in most cases: if you're slower than your enemy you lose.

As for the idea, it's nicely thought out but it sounds too much like a rhythm action game to me. My least favourite parts of CoD4 were when the dogs attacked you and you had to play Dance Dance Dogdeath to get rid, or die.
I do like the idea of a standoff between two locked characters though: that would be cool.
  15. Definitely /signed.

I know a singularity called Olivia: she gives big powerful hugs indiscriminately. One of my main characters had a crush on her, she crushed him, and he never ever learned his lesson.
  16. I like this idea very much.

Gawd knows how you'd code it but assuming you had carte blanche what about you start it like any other TF, ie a team goes to a contact clicks and begins 4 missions, as outlined above, grand scale lots of flitting about and a largish battle at the end provided it stays as one team.

Another team comes along and is given the option to join the TF, they join and the scale ups in the final battle.
The new team is given the second mission in the arc to complete, and if team 1 finishes their mission before team 2 they can go help out, they dont get the mission bonus at the end, but they get the mob rewards. Both teams can then move to mission 3 and then the big battle.
If the 1st team has already moved on to the 2nd mission when the new team joins: the new team will get the unstarted mission.

A 3rd team come along and is given the option to join. If the other teams haven't moved on to the 3rd mission the new team gets that. If they've started the 3rd mission the new team will join in. This is when the final battle becomes EPIC.

The only problem I see is that the 1st team will feel like they've done all teh work if both new teams join in on the 3rd mission, but seeing as I've stollen the infamous "blank cheque" to dream up anything I fancy I'd hope for some sort of proportional reward system. Maybe for each mission you complete you go up a tier of final reward.

Ahh well I love the original idea, and this would be beautiful if implemented. Definitely /signed
  17. Oh definitely /signed.

Done accidental quitting an more than one occasion.

There needs to be a confirmation dialog before you zone when you are on a co-op team as well.

    [/ QUOTE ]

This I would love too, you'd be amazed how many people forget that a mixed team cant leave the zone.
  18. Yeah when the apocalypse descends you get 100% Debt Protection.
  19. Glide Elfling, my sole Warshade, was ToTing with a bunch of friends in PI2 last night when we had a heap of the shmbling dead come to say hello...well it sounded like hello I think it was actually just muffled groaning. He proved remarkably effective and now has all 4 of the apocalypse badges.

I wanna bash em with Menacing Moo though, I need fiery zombie death by her hands Plus I guess I'll have to grab Delph Elfling, Darlis Elfling and Booble to join in the fun. Sic Elfling's already on his way to the ToT collection, and he'd love to /kin the zombies...gah lets just say I'll try to attack them with every character I can muster.
  20. Nah I like the patron arcs, plus some of the best story arcs are 40+ (Television, Vernon Von Grun, Viridian....)

True the powers can be a bit naff in places, but there are some great ones too (soul storm: how do I love thee, let me count the ways.) Once again it's horses for courses I guess.

Though I agree that lifting the level cap wouldn't solve much.
  21. I'd slot purples as they fall, if they were necessary. Though saying that: some of them (not the most desired of course) are incredibly cheap nowadays.

Yep I know it's off topic, though this is more of an evolution.
  22. I'd love to join you for this but I cant make 8 unfortunately. Still: have fun.

Edit: I'll bet PI Splits in two again, like it did last night. :P
  23. Yeah I like it lots, would help with the Elfling invasion of Union. Plus our regular teams usually have 2 or 3 Sg members in them anyway.

    /signed
  24. It also depends on the group you have around you. Going back to that PI bash the amount of folks involved was immense. Glide is a Warshade and he had no trouble staying alive through the whole thing despite being stood still for most of the time. He hit Damage cap many times thanks to some nifty Fulcrums being shifted about, and the healing potential (gotta love that stygian circle) was always there thanks to the amount of violence being enacted on the less than helpless zombiefolk.

In a smaller group I can imagine it becoming overwhelming very quickly, but fun all the same
  25. They are like a flood of rotting flesh.

Last night In PI 2 was awe inspiring, so many peeps, and we got everything in short order. All badges in a hefty scoop of brains and violence

It was beautiful. Now Glide is less beautiful because of the pumpkin head, but at least it feels well earned
