I just want to say that I have personally seen this Super Jerk, and EK performs it masterfully. Any advice EK has to say on this subject is sound. I actually drew a lot of inspiration from and mimicked him when making my own form of a super jerk.
Indeed, subtlety is key. It makes the difference between enjoyable and eye-gouging. -

I agree with that. But... how about both? Let Nova be a breakfree ish thing by letting you use the first two powers while mezzed too.

Quote:Fair points, but you have to know that Traps is not the only powerset I've used and Masterminds are hardly the only AT I play. Side by side, I do not feel any less mobile on my Bots/Traps than I do on others.Team Teleport is very slow compared to super speed, as well as having to use a 2 second activation where you otherwise would not have to (ie you can't attack while activating it, you can attack while moving with SS or SJ or Fly). You're "mobile", but in comparison to super speed and combat jumping, he could definitely say there is a lack of it. Many traps powers have to be used on the ground or while stationary, all of TA can be cast while jumping or in the air.

Point for Joe.
Hey, that makes me think: What if we gave Nova Defiance? -
i22 is already giving Reform Essence an untouchable period.
Your wish is granted.
EDIT: Curses, you said Reform, not Restore. Nevermind me.
I actually kind of agree with this. Can we add the same thing to Stygian Circle? -
Quote:Team Teleport for the bots. Try again. You lack mobility. Minions don't move as fast as players can, force field generator is slow, and, well, traps.
Nothing about Traps is any less mobile than something like Trick Arrow. Recharge is my only limit, not mobility of the traps themselves. -

I'm glad it helped.
I don't know if you've seen my Mastermind Guide, but I'm hoping to get some solid incarnate advice added to it before long. -
The best I can do is tell you what I did for my Bots/Traps and why.
Alpha: I have both Spiritual and Musculature Cores. I use the Musculature when I'm running solo because more damage is more damage, but in team and league atmospheres, I want more recharge so I can act more the force multiplier.
Judgement: Ion because it's pretty and I'm a Bots/Traps. It looks the most techy of the other powers.
Lore: Warworks, again mostly because of theme.
Interface: Reactive Radial for the damage over time. It is very impressive. Once I get on a team, though, I switch to the confuse one because it's less common and it avoids the stacking limit.
Destiny: Rebirth +Max HP. The bonus hitpoints aren't much to players like you and me, but to the bots, it's a significant amount of health. It also boosts my own regen just by having that larger health pool. -
Quote:Holy hell a lot of this.4) Like I said before if you are enjoying your character in the way you are playing than go ahead noone has any right to tell you how to play.
I have a PB that, while he's still a kheldian, it goes in a different direction than the lore. He's a light based alien, right? So I figure he can merge with a fiber-optic based computer system.
I play Dark Armor as sand, I play Spines as a whole bunch of little knives, and I play a Demon/Thermal as if the Demons do all the work. Nothing says you can't play a PB however the hell you want. -
It really sucks for Willpower because it shuts off the major survivability tool of the set.
-
I saw the thread title and thought: "Thinking that you have to keep the team alive" is a pretty common one.
But seriously? Defender traps do get superior values. -
i22 is going to bring about new sets. Each archetype will have its own set, but no one is sure of the details yet because it's still in beta. These will be purchasable IOs from the Paragon Market and maybe some other place too, but I can't say as I haven't read up on it in detail. Check out the Beta forums.
TL;DR - More info coming Soon(TM). -
Yeah, there isn't one.
But if you want my opinion... MFing Warshade.
Quote:It's also the most fun thing I've ever played.Originally Posted by The MFing WarshadeSo what the hell is The MFing Warshade?
I know that's what you're thinking. As mentioned earlier, The MFing Warshade is not a build or even a certain play style. It is a state of mind. It is one that embraces the jack-of-all-trades nature of the beast and makes the most of it. It is one that never stops and never fears. It is one that can fit any role and sometimes all of them. It is one that, in its prime, causes the team to pause for a moment of reverence and think to themselves, "Wow, that is one MFing warshade."
At its height, The MFing Warshade will have 300% damage bonus, 85% resist all, well over 50% tohit bonus, three damage dealing pets in tow, a ranged AoE attack chain, and the ability to refill both bars more often than I blink. It can also perma stun ten targets, perma hold one, and even stun bosses in a single shot. It has mez protection with an 80% hitpoints bonus on demand. It can even shrug off defeat twice every five minutes. -
Quote:Cool_bagheera, I just need to tell you that my grandpa has given me a ton of advice over the years. You'd think that, just because he's been here longer, it's always great advice. Truth is, it's mostly not.I give up you win.
Two heads are better than one.
You are completely right TwoHeadedBaby or what ever.
I am the noob and you are the great master.
TwoHeadedBoy : Join Date: Dec 2010
Me: Join Date: May 2004
2010 is greater that 2004 you win.
That little join date doesn't mean a thing. You could have played for a few weeks, and spent no time playing only to re-up last week. You could have been playing this whole time. But by all the advice you've given, it's clear you haven't spent any time in game actually using your advice. You demonstrate a complete lack of knowledge when it comes to game mechanics. I would also have to call your reading comprehension into question.
THB knows how to solo +4/x8 and AVs with his human form Warshade. The things he can do are nothing short of impressive. I've seen him do it, and he's posted plenty of evidence of his abilities.
You have nothing but a join date and terrible advice. -
Quote:Shush you! Zip it! Not another word.Eclipse is on my list of powers that I wonder what the devs were drinking when they gave them to us. Eclipse would be considered a major exploit in most other MMOs.
Of course, Warshades also get Stygian Circle, so its possible the devs just really like Warshades. -
You cannot look at odds like that. Each event is independent.
Also, we don't know the odds for a single drop, so we cannot calculate your situation. -
But what if I post something way off topic of the deleted thread?

Quote:As much as I hate to think what it would do to my favorite characters, I do agree with this. Unfortunately, the public backlash to this kind of action could be fatal. As they should. IOs grant way too much of it which caused the devs to crank up the base tohit on new critters which in turn nerfed all the defense based sets.
Critters need to go back to base 50% tohit across the board and IO-based defense needs to be slashed.
