Ok, I read what I could on the Paragon Wiki about them and tried to learn as much as I could before coming here to ask. But I wound up being confused.
Anyways, do Enhancement boosters only work on enhancements sets like Karma or Ghost Widows embrace? The Paragon Wiki makes it look like you could use it on the regular crafted IO Enhancements, but I am not totally sure and I am too scared to buy one and try to use it to find out since I don't use that many Enhancement sets. -
Quote:I believe it would be a wonderful thing to create though I don't see it taking off for a few more months or longer. Why?I'd like to start this up again, but would first like to get some discussion on the best way to go about it.
The Goal
The goal is to get more plays, rates, and feedback on newer and/or lesser played arcs. I know there's tons of us out there that want plays and rates on our arcs. But in order to get plays/rates, you should be willing to give plays/rates.
How to Achieve
The real question is how to achieve this goal. In the previous incarnation, I would choose someone's arc each week and offer everyone to play/comment/rate it. Unfortunately depending on the arc it would only get 2-5 plays out of a group of 15 or so players.
The Questions
How many people would be interested in trying this out again?
Should I offer prizes to those who play/rate multiple arcs?
How should I organize the arcs that want plays?
At this point, would a thread like this be asking for griefers?
At this point, would it be wrong to ask for 5 stars or no rating at all?
Well, with Issue 21, the devs created an anti exploit program called MARTy which I think will nerf AE farming BAD. MARTy will see that farmers can get 9,999 AE tickets in 5 minutes and allow players to go from level 1 to 50 in about 30 minutes. See MARTy will not tolerate that and will pull out it's nerf bat and auto nerf by not allowing them to get as many rewards once they get to a certain level in a certain time forcing it to take much longer to level up and will also not allow the missions to award as many tickets once they get a certain amount in a certain time.
This might allow the Devs to plug in some mechanics AE desperately needs. Like Ally's not leeching as much tickets and XP. I hate putting in Allies in my missions to help because players don't get any tickets or XP because it's killing everything in sight and not letting players get any rewards or I am stuck using only Force Field with no attack powers. LAME!
Another needed mechanic is more XP per mob kill. Players are better off spawning Mayhem missions and doing tip missions to get more rewards. Why waste time on an AE mission right now unless it's a farm you can do? These are issues the Devs are looking at I think. So in the end. I believe a club like this will be more successful in the future.
MARTy could be like ED's was when it came out with City of Villians. It will really screw up the game at first. But then in a few months or a little longer, the game will get WAY better. So I won't make the mistake I made when I quit the game because of ED's.
I apologize in advance, but I want to to disclose my post issue 21 plans anyways even though it's not the topic of this post. I plan to consolidate down to 2 active characters plus an ALT that was once uber, but got destroyed once EDs came out. I can't bring myself to delete her for sentimental reasons so I decided to keep her and look for ways to improve her. But I am doing this to save cost and time because I reason that I would want to 2-4 toons with all tier 4 incarnate powers rather than focus on getting 48 level 20-30s. I also want to focus on AE more by making my own story arcs and playing other peoples story arcs to level up while also doing tip missions and mayhem missions. So a club like this would suit me fine in the future because I have another outlet to look for more AE missions for me to play! -
Thats odd, But I did petition and file a bug report believeing this to be some kind of bugg that they should fix before people really start whining about it and was told the same thing from the GM's. The power is working as intended.
thanks for the info.
Now for those who are thinking about playing a /willpower toon. I would point out, that it's not a serious problem. Willpower is still not gimped. I have a level 50 Claws/Willpower Scrapper and I have never been stunned or disorientated on that toon. Never knew you could get stunned or disorientated or whatever while having Indomitable Will active. It just happened last night and it was the first and only time I noticed it and it may not happen again.
So you can stop reading this reply now unless you are curious as to why I got a Claws/Willpower Scrapper and a Claws/Willpower Brute.
Long story short, going rogue came out and issue 21 is coming out, so I stopped playing scrapper because I didn't like the taunt power you got in your offensive powerset and I felt the Hitpoints you got where too low. So I made a Claws/Willpower Brute to replace my Claws/Willpower scrapper and I am starting over from scratch. No I do not feel Scrappers are gimped and yes, if you want a scrapper, stop reading this and go make one and start playing. You won't get any discouragement from me.
In the end, I am deleting a bunch of characters on my account to cut down to 3-4 characters to save cost and to work within time constraints. I simply can't keep more than 3-4 characters active. I also want to make my own story arcs (not farms, 2 farm missions are enough) for AE to offer my creativity to those who happen to stumble upon them so that's going to use up alot of my time. -
I was playing my Claws/Willpower Brute and was fighting a group of Green Ink Men and the first time I fought them, I got stunned and disorientated and yes, I had Indomitable Will activated and running.
That should not be happening as Indomitable Will grants immunity to stun and disorient effects while active right?
I do know of any kind of status effect power not working when fighting against Riechsman as his attacks go through it, but not some common minion like a green ink man right? -
I just checked the Paragon Wiki on power siphon and I wanted to ask here to make triple sure. It didn't state that any bad penalties happen when it wears off. But just can't get it in my head, so I am asking here. Where people have level 50 Tankers, Scrappers, and Brutes that use Kinetic Melee and have power siphon.
But do you lose your defense, have your damage reduced by 99%, and have your blue bar drained to empty when power siphon wears off? What does happen when power siphon wears off? -
Quote:I'll check it out on Monday when I go back in game.I really don't think you need to worried about it.

P.S. - Seeing your forum name I have to ask if you've ever played my arc Death to Disco! (just search on @Wrong Number or check out the link in my sig). I'm betting it's right up your alley and it's only two missions long.
I got the idea for my name by watching the movie "Stripes" from the part where the whole platoon goes to a strip bar/mud wrestling bar and got busted by the military police. One of the guys who was being scolded by the captian had a T-shirt on that said "Death before Disco". LOL
Anyways. Thanks for the feedback.
Don't worry about bad reviews hurting your feelings. Certain people like things a certain way and we are all different. Just look at a move like "Sex in the City" for example. Myself and my guy friends will most likely give bad reviews and hate on it if forced to watch it and give our honest opinion. Doesn't make it a bad movie and hollywood should expect us to hate it because we are not the target audience. When they should worry is when the ladies don't like it, because thats who they are targeting with that franchise. -
Is it generally ok to write a story arc with a single non farming mission in it?
Also if you keep getting lots of 1 star reviews, does something bad happen?
With issue 21 Freedom coming out and the ability to purchase unlimited AE story arcs, I figured it would be ok to use some of those slots to go ahead and make four single mission story arcs to allow myself and other players who are short on time to try some of the Villian Groups I made in the unlikely event they stumble across my AE stories. (I am not going to advertise my AE story Arcs). I do plan on making multi mission AE story arcs that are actual stories in the future.
I am not concerned about Positron or Dr. Aeon making me a hall of famer or other players liking my work since I am mostly doing it for myself. You can't please everyone anyways. But I don't want bad reviews getting my account suspended indefinately simply because the mobs in it are very hard to farm at +4 Levels and equal to 8 heroes and I never intended players to farm the single mission story arc I made and they don't like it. -
Looks like an awesome movie, though I am debating whether I should wait until it gets to Netflix to watch it or just go ahead and spend the money and go watch it at the local Movie Studio Grill. But I am definately going to watch the other Planet of the Apes movies again.
I think they should have experimented on Pugs instead of Monkeys. This would have happened instead. :'(

Been reading it. Just haven't bothered to respond until now, that's all.
I should be thanked for bringing up this discussion anyways because not only should Paragon Studios offer up to 48 Slots, but from what I am reading here, they should seriously consider offering up to 60 character slots now. -
Well, I am ok with paying for new powersets. Though I am looking at having to pass this go round because I am playing only brutes and I read (misread I hope) that street justice will not be available for brutes. :|
But i am gonna check the marketplace anyway to see if i am wrong and if i am, i am pulling out my credit card, no problem. -
I noticed they are selling alot of extra character slots. It's what I like about this game. Most games I have seen only let you have about 8-12 slots and thats all you get.
But do you think anybody would ever play this game SO MUCH that they can get 48 level 50's in about a few months complete with all five tier 4 incarnate powers? LOL
How do you manage so many toons if you don't have alot of game time? -
I typically don't buy many IO sets and mostly settle for the regular generic IO's. So I don't research or know much about them. Anyways, my question is:
If I, for example, were to buy the level 10 Karma Knockback protection and a level 30 Defense and Endurance Reduction and a level 30 Defense and Recharge Increase and put all three Enhancements into a single power, will I still get all the set bonus's or do they need to be the same level? -
Thanks, that makes alot of sense. I won't touch those glowies, that can cost a league 4 threads, or Astral Merits that can be used to buy junk from Astral Christy.
-
Been doing alot of Behavioral Adjustment Facility Trials and noticed outside of the hospital that there are glowies. I have never touched one, because the league leaders tell me to never touch them, but they get too busy to explain.
So what does happen if I interact with the glowy outside of the hospital while doing a BAF? -
I wanna make a Broad Sword/Shield Defense Brute. :'(
Would do a scrapper, but I don't like confront or having to use Provoke to taunt. Plus I want the higher hit points. -
My biggest fear with it and the super reflexes powerset, is taking one hit, then having your green bar turn red because 95% of your health points are taken away by that one blow that got through and having to use alot of greens to stay alive and not get 10 bars of debt.
Not to mention, those Rikti Pylons in the Rikti War Zone. I think that would be annoying having to go to a Mission near the Rikti Mothership and accidentally getting too close to a Pylon and BAM!, you have to go to the hospital and start all over again because the Pylon Shot you and killed you with one attack. That has happened before with my illusion/empathy controller.
But it's not going to stop me from making a Kinetic Melee/Energy Aura Brute and an Energy Melee/Super Reflexes Brute when issue 21 comes out. Because we got LOTS of players reading this with level 50 Super Reflexes toons and they do fine and they love giving out advice on how to do well with a Super Reflexes toon. We wouldn't have that many players with level 50 Super Reflexes scrappers, brutes and stalkers, if it was such a horrible powerset. I see Energy Aura getting more popular because of it's revamp. -
I can't tell you how many Ice Controllers over the years complain to me about how Ice Control is underpowered and weak.
Well I am gonna send them here and have them watch those videos and tell them how you seem to do just fine. :P -
Quote:I agree, because I used one my respecs and got both RI and EF and read your guide and tried out the new tactics solo. I believe I have teamed with Rads using RI and EF, but mistaken them for just running Choking Cloud or something else. The visual cues for EF and RI are not very strong. You most likely have have teamed with someone using them and never noticed. Personally, I use the powers customization to make EF and RI LESS noticeable . . . because anytime a scrapper sees a foe that I am using as my anchor, the scrapper seems to take the slight glow as a "kill me first" sign.
Guide works like a charm. I made two AE level 1-3 Story Arcs and had my Controller solo them. I couldn't use EF, but I used RI and chain fences alot and would just hit a group of mobs with chain fences and then hit an anchor with RI and then use Tesla Cage, Electric Fence, vet powers and brawl to finish off the mobs and I did fine. I also soloed a single Radio Mission and tried my other powers and did good, too.
I also changed my Radiation Powers color to light purple and had it match my Electric powers and I do not think people will notice much that I am using RI and EF.
Thanks again Local Man. That is a good guide. -
I would just make Spectral Terror work like that Gun Drone in the Devices powerset only having it use psychic blast powers instead of full auto.
-
Quote:Good Idea, I am gonna find those guides and read them tonight. Not only I am going to take Enervating field, I am going to take everything except fallout (only because I keep forgetting to use it. Habit forces me to rez before I use vengeance, and I assume the same problem for fallout. ) and I am going to find a way to make it work somehow.I suggest you take a look at my Ill/Rad guide's section on using RI and EF and "Choosing your Anchor." EF animates quite quickly and can be used on any decent sized group to debuff damage resistance and debuff the foes' damage . . . just pick an anchor farther back that will hopefully last a few more seconds than the rest of the group. RI can be saved for tougher targets like AVs and some longer lasting bosses.
These debuffs are surprisingly powerful. EF provides the equivalent of about a 22% damage buff by debuffing Resistance AND similar to 25% Damage Resistance to your team by debuffing the foes' damage. The Defense Debuff in RI can offset many of the Defense buffs in the game and will help AoE powers hit more reliably. The ToHit Debuff is the same as a significant increase to your team's defense.
EF can be used as much as possible to help your team kill faster. When playing solo or small team, you should have a lot more use out of RI. An AoE Immob + RI is almost like a hold, because the foes can't move and they have trouble hitting you.
These are two of the key powers in */Rad, and if you aren't using at least EF constantly, then you could be playing your character better. On those fast moving teams, you will be contributing more by letting someone aggro the foes and then opening with EF than most things you could be doing. On my Elec/Rad on those fast-moving teams, the best contribution you can make is your AoE Immob and EF. Most controls are useless since foes are dead before the controls have much effect, but the AoE Immob will keep the foes in place, while EF debuffs both Damage and Resistance to make for faster killing.
Main reason for bringing this up anyways is because I have never seen a radiation emission defender, corruptor, or controller ever use enervating field or radiation infection in a team and I play on Virtue which is the most crowded server out there and I have been playing almost 4 years. I mostly see the rads throw out heals, AM and just start holding or blasting away. Made me wonder if I should take those powers or skip them.
Thanks for the responses and wish me luck! -
Is Radiation Infection and Enervating Field really worth taking at all for a grouping Electric/Rad Controller that plans to mostly group with others? Is there a use for those powers in group situations that I am not seeing or noticing?
I am thinking about skipping those powers because the only situation I have been in with a group where it might be a little useful is on the Kahn Taskforce where you face Riechsman and even then, I suspect it would cause him to aggro me and I would be one shot killed. Provided I can nail him with that power to begin with. And nobody wastes thier time with a Kahn TF anyways. I have not seen one formed since the first time it awarded a favor of the well.
But any other situation, I have seen entire groups of mobs, even on the BAF/Keyes/Lambda Trials, dropped so fast, that if I where to have nailed any mob (including Goliaths) with one of those powers I would have wasted like 85 points of my endo bar and not have one mob debuffed or worse, I would draw aggro from an AV and get killed fast. That kinda makes me feel like I would be better off taking Assault, Tactics, and Manuevers instead, not just for the minor damage, defense, and to-hit bonus, but for the perception bonus and placate resistance to help better fight those hiding and placating Vicki's nearby. -

More story arcs and add the IDF and the Warworks as playable enemies!
-
There are a bunch of maps I would not mind using in my story arcs and I would really love to use the IDF and Warworks in my story arcs.
Is that ever going to be possible? -
I am interested in becoming a VIP member and STAYING a VIP member. I figure it's worth it since I do play alot and love to make my own Architect Story Arcs.
My concern and question, is the Billing going to be like the Jetpack power you sell to where you have to keep logging in once a month to renew it or can you have the VIP membership automatically renew itself every month like the current billing cycle does?
Also can you pay by the year as well for the VIP membership?
