I would go for willpower from those choices. Its a well rounded set and would have good synergy with dark melees - to hit

I had a break from the game for a few issues, and my BS/SR scrapper's build seems to have aged a bit. I currently have softcapped def to all positions without the need for parry, which with the sets i have means that i have fairly small regen/recharge bonuses.

I'm looking for ideas for a new build that doesn't cost too much (though I do have a lot of IOs available - just not the really rare stuff/purples)

Gaussians chance for build up is enough for me to want to keep Targeting Drone.

This sort of thing makes me wonder why something from EQ2 hasn't caught on here. In EQ2 there are a number of people who enjoy designing the guild houses, so charge an in game fee for their services. They get to spend days mucking around with sims while the house owner gets to do fun stuff.

There was a time when leaving posts were banned. Presumably that time has passed along with any other semblance of customer service.

I was looking forward to the reactivation as I've missed the last couple of issues. I can safely say that I can understand peoples reaction in realtion to the development. So little has been done these past 2 issues its laughable. I'm currently playing Lord of The Rings Online and there is just so much more to do. City of Heroes is an old game and I feel that is now showing, its very one dimensional with bits and pieces bolted on. I'm not sure CO will be the right game for me, the play system looks too console oriented. My big hope is for The Old Republic. I can't wait for it, despite previous hopes being dash by WAR, Vanguard, AOC, Tabula Rasa etc. In the meantime I may pass time in Jumpgate Evolution

I think someone must have forgotten to turn on the reactivation, its an odd time for it to happen (and about 30 mins after I put a ticket in to support asking when it would be up and running)

its also about time they nerfed the massive defense boost that Paragon Protectors get when they MOG

Its strange how PVPers moan that not enough people PVP. Yet we have 2 in this thread showing exactly the attitude of elitism that actively discourages people to try PVP.

Whats the best situation to use ignite? ATM im using it to stop enemies getting into melee range thanks to the fear component but i want to be able to use the huge damage too. Do i have to wait until the higher levels to get more status effect powers or this the best method of ignite for a ranged style blaster?

Most AV level foes are immune to fear, Ignite is the most damaging power in the set vs them.

The book didn't cause anyone to die, as far as I'm aware a book is unable to wield any form of lethal weapon. As always people kill other people, this would happen no matter what.

The sound isn't great in the game, in fact I have never had the music turned on so wouldn't know what it was like. However the voices on NPCs... NO THANKS. That is one part of other games I play that I can't stand as the speech is always generic no matter the situation.

I think the OP is wanting this to be a Superhero game with WOW combat system. Thats the system you've polayed, fine. But the combat system in this works fine imo. Yes, at low level it can be slow due to the lack of powers, but its the same in any game. Once you have played a character for a while you learn the range of your attacks, which is a system I prefer over being mollycoddled by the game system. And I hate the games which put you in a 'combat ready' stance, its pretty easy to tell you are being attacked.

Several full purple sets, several Miracles, Numinas, LOTGs, at least 10 of each rare salvage. It all soon adds up.

I can blame Plaync for changing the payment system which excluded me from actually being able to play the game. At the time I was excluded from playing I was unable to use a Maestro option as it didn't exist until a month after I started this topic, and I wonder if I hadn't brought it to peoples attention at what point something would have been sorted out. Maybe if I hadn't have made my initial post you would be in the same situation as me, so please get your facts right.

Ok I initially started this thread as I was unable to pay to play the game. Despite disbelief from other people on the forum I was proven correct that yes they had indeed removed a payment option and not bothered to inform us. Every few weeks I checked the payment methods available and eventually they started offering payment by Unverified Paypal. So I resubscribed (a couple of days ago)

One slight problem, all of my alts Auction House slots and Black Market slots were empty. I contacted customer service and they asked for details of all the characters effected etc, which I gave them and then they said


'Thank you for contacting the PlayNC Customer Support Team. Unfortunately we are unable to reimburse any items lost from the Consignment houses due to inactivity. There is a warning in game at the Consignment Information Representative that states that "If you disappear for 60 days or more, your items will be lost".'

Well thanks a bunch Customer Service, because you removed a Payment option I couldn't play the game and now when I can play the game I have lost several billion inf worth of items. Gee thanks for that. Guess that its pretty much pointless to continue resubbing to the game as the time and effort I put in to get the stuff that has been lost was immense. So just going to let my sub run its course (only 28 days left) and then its goodbye to COH for good.

Actually endgame content in other games is a myth, seriously

In every other game they moan about lack of endgame content

All there is to do in every other game is grind for gear, which can be done in CoX in a team or solo.

Just checked in game and Group invisibility suppresses to 50% of the defence, making it pretty pointless to slot

If you want defense Superior invisibility is far.....Superior to Group invisibility. As far as I'm aware the defense from GI suppresses if you are seen and SI the defense stays on. Therefore putting any defense slots in GI is useless (unless you are going for sets)

Kicking and boxing won't make you a scrapper! You can put out enough damage with the other powers in the build to never use them ( perhaps better choices would be combat jumping and/or maneuvers to enhance defence)

And yet you still failed to provide any warning that Maestro was no longer an option. The only reason this issue has actually been brought to light is because I happen to have two accounts one of which needed reactivating. The policy change actually took place over 3 weeks ago and yet you failed to actually mention it.

A HUGE PR failure. I wonder how many potential customers reactivating accounts have been lost , I know of 2 others who wanted to reactivate for DXP weekend but couldn't, if there had been some formal News then maybe people could have taken the necessary actions.

I have already been affected by this, hence me making the original post. My second account was cancelled the day before the changes took place. As I had no prior warning I was unable to sort any alternative methosd of payment in time for the DXP weekend. The Customer Service on show (ie zero) has killed off any enthusiasm I had for the game. Looking at the other payment options:

I have been subsribing to this game in the same way since it came out of Beta in Europe. Why should I have to go hunting for other ways to pay in order to continue playing it? Shouldn't people who want to take your money from you make it simple? It's just another example of the terrible customer service that we get and seem to put up with. Its no biggie to me, I've signed up for a different MMO. I just find it disappointing that this sort of change is made without any information being given in advance, and someone who is supposed to be a community liaison (Ghost Raptor) has actually visited this thread but not commented. That and the fact that support stuck a metaphorical two fingers up to me have convinced me that COH don't seem to want subscribers. Luckily its a very competitive market so I can just choose other games to spend my money on.
