  1. Its a pretty dreadful set for survival unless you can heap a lot of inf on and layer defenses.

  3. Be aware that Electric Armour pre L28 (when you get your heal) feels incredibly squishy. In fact I'd say its the squishiest defensive set I've played until the very late 30s as the mitigation in terms of sapping isn't there, so you end up with a end heavy low resistance set, which dramatically changes once you get energize and power sink.

  6. The problem I have with KM/Shield is that you seem to lose some of the KM flavour with one handed animations.

    Dual Blades/SR

Currently enjoying my DB/SR so planning a potential build in advance (I prefer the mitigation of the fighting pool over aid self), Came up with this odd but seemingly effective build, no doubt it could be improved by a few purples but I tend to only have one or two alts get that geared up. Would probably go spiritual as end shouldn't be an issue. would appreciate any thoughts. Thanks

With an unlimited amount of resources which scrapper pairing would you pick and why?
  10. Sounds interesting. Only recently started on Victory and yet to set on something to level. Will keep an eye on the channel though.
  11. Well i rolled a few alts on Victory, joined a SG (Eurocore) and have now hit 20, seems to be a nice community so far, though I couldn't get onto Victory Badges (full) and Victory Badges 2009 seems very quiet.

My (really) old build was a DM/Inv/Body Mastery. Would you consider DM/Inv/Blaze Mastery? Char, Fire Blast, and Fireball are great powers. I believe Mu Mastery with its single target blast, AoE, and hold are more or less the same too if that is a better fit for theme.

It looks like you enjoy using Shadow Maul. Not recommended for a DPS chain, but a decent cone attack if you can use it reliably. Also: Fun wins out in the case of numbers vs. fun.

[/INDENT]Hopefully that gives you some ideas! I'd say the biggest improvement you could make for your posted build wold be Recharge. High Recharge (and permanent) allows for DM/Inv to have consistent, top-end performance. Cheers!
I suppose I could go for travel power less build, and stick hasten in instead of SJ

The problem with the epic would be lack of slots, not really anywhere I can cut slots from to make a hold and single target blast worthwhile

Shadow Maul is in the build for mentoring/TFs. I realise it loses its appeal at higher levels but at low levels its still a great attack, just be glad I didn't take flurry too!

I will check out your build see if there are any savings I can make on mine, thanks

    DM/Inv

Ok so with the new access to US servers, I made myself a new DM/Inv scrapper on Victory, this is my current plan, with eventually the pvp +def in there (once I get the merits). Everything else I already own, or is easily accessible. Any thoughts/improvements welcome

  14. Are there any other widely used globals on victory? Apparently Victory Badges is at full capacity so unable to join.
  15. I haven't decided which server my US alts will land on yet. What's Victory's 'niche' ?
  16. Death_Badger

    Kinetic melee

Tried a few KM scrappers but never really found it to be what I wanted on a scrapper. With all of those new server slots to play with I'll probably try and Elec/KM tank though.
  17. Being on just Defiant and Union at present, I absolutely cannot wait for the server list merge. Even though I have unplayed alts such as Will Feral (a Ron Burgundyesque scrapper with claws) and an archery/devs blaster thats still only L39 despite being made whenever archery became live, I have a ton of ideas for new alts that will expand onto various US servers.
  18. I returned to CoH a week ago after playing other MMOs for several months.

COH is still a breath of fresh air, the instancing of content to allow total customisation of the difficulty is still a stroke of genius compared to trudging through shared zones fighting others for named spawns.

It still allows many different levelling paths unlike most games (you can group or solo from 1-50 or anything in between, and there is a wide variety of content with TFs, Trials, story arcs, tips, radio/paper missions, Architect etc.

It now has given me a reason to play my favourite L50s which only ever got brought out for special occasions. I have really enjoyed the incarnate system.

I just want to ask when exactly CoX had a focus on endgame for solo players which some people seem to think the devs have moved away from? Prior to the Going Rogue System there was nothing for 50s to do solo except grind endless mobs/missions. GR introduced a system which can be used to develop your character solo. The first slot of the Incarnate system can be obtained solo.

The gnashing of teeth over the two trials is ridiculous. Some people will complain about anything. The raiding here is fast and fun, its nothing like WoW et al, absolutely as far as could be from raiding in those games.

This is an MMO, everyone. Things are going to change and be patched: I don't own the power Burn even though I love it and pay a monthly fee, either. The devs aren't in some obligation to know ever step of development they'll go through for years or to place those caveats everywhere for us. Expecting that is crazed, entitled, egregious, and outrageous. And feel free to say that with a Jackie Chiles intonation as well, it makes it more fun.
That's a ridiculous analogy because every power set is available for you to choose from.

The boosters are paid for, the travel powers are advertised as inherent, so they shouldn't be restricted by temporary powers being restricted.

Is expecting something to work correctly a sense of entitlement?
  20. Once thing I can't find.... How much do transfers normally cost?
  21. So I've just returned to the game after several months away (in fact in the last couple of years I've probably only played 4 months in total) And I have discovered I no longer want to play anything but scrappers. I have capped Tanks, Trollers, Blasters, Veats, Corruptors, even a defender, but only my scrappers are getting considered for the Incarnate system. However I don't want to burn out on the incarnate system so I decided I will be making a new scrapper. I'm struggling, however, to decide on the sets. I currently have capped:

    Spines/Regen
    Katana/Willpower
    Fire/Shield
    Claws/Regen
    Broadsword/SR
    Spines/Dark
    Dark/Regen

i've had various attempts at levelling an invuln alt but they have never seemed to really take off the way I'd hoped. I've played Dual Blades to the 40s and just don't like the concept of it. Got a couple of WP tanks so don't really want any more WP alts. This leaves me with the options to try something new of:

    Kinetic Melee
    Electric Melee
    Martial Arts

The only defense set I haven't played much is Electric Armour, however I wouldn't be averse to trying another shield based alt as long as it was sufficiently different to fire/shd

As far as I can see this leave the following options:

    kinetic/Electric
    kinetic/shield
    electric/electric
    ma/electric
    ma/shield

(discounting elec/shield due to similarities to fire/shield)

I'm just wondering what peoples views on any of those combos is.

Sorry for the long post and thanks in advance for any feedback
  22. The other reason katana and broadsword are so nice, the weapon customisation options are great.
  23. Katana or Broadsword with willpower is extremely resilient without a lot of money spent on IOs.
  24. Death_Badger

    Illusion / ?

Illusion works better with a debuff set due to the nature of phantom army. I personally would go /Rad or /Trick Arrow
