Quote:WoW, off the top of my head, has had to kill numerous addons that did what they consider to be exploits (one that allowed one to autotarget friendlies and automatically cast a spell that removed a debuff, a recent one that allowed people to draw on the game world, to name two), along with the security hole (which is more likely what saist is talking about) of having to find trusted sites that have been in the past compromised with malware.
WRONG! I mean, you're wrong on other points, but this one is the most twitch-worthy. I've played 2 other MMO's that had 100% customizable UI's (using XML of some sort), and both are still going strong without any notable exploits having popped up from this. Wrong.
It's something to be cautious but not paranoid about. -

The half you lose goes to your pactmate. Your partner is keeping pace via fed experience - if he's online and working with you, he's feeding you half of his, so you're getting the same net amount.

Quote:Dante is unabashedly heroic (at least in 1, 3, and 4), just snarky about it.
Moral ambiguity is Devil May Cry's Dante -
Quote:This would just lead to "Stamina is required so you never have to slot endred" again.I'd actually like to see them leave the Fitness pool in place after making it inherent. That way one could double-up on Swift, Health and/or Stamina, if that's one's desire. Much like a Regen or Willpower character can take the powerset's recovery-boost power and Stamina and pretty much never worry about endo again. I wouldn't double-up on most of my characters, but there are some who I would love to.
This might also solve the possible issue with slots caused by fitness becoming inherent. Double Stamina could allow some Endo Reduction enhancements to be dropped, freeing up slots for other powers. -
Quote:Echoing this. There are plenty of people out there who rate NCsoft as the worst MMO company ever because they keep shutting down MMOs like Auto Assault and Tabula Rasa. It's a big wheel of h8.
NCSoft gets a lot more hate than Cryptic - Cryptic is, at worst, a team that releases earlier than they probably should, from the boards I frequent. -
Echo Dawn: Cybernetic character adapting his systems to resist shock and trauma on the fly, represented as Willpower.
The Shattered: Generally have one power representing their psychic ability. Ranges from Mental Manip, to Pain Dom, to Willpower.
Posikhan: Is mocking you because he doesn't actually use radiation, he uses raw energy of both Dawn and Midnight. -
My Sci-Fi/Fantasy Lit snuck Sean Connery in a diaper (Zardoz) into a powerpoint, once.

How much nerfing are you willing to take for the ability to control them?

Quote:Saying this would have been infinitely more effective and sounded considerably less misleading than "More slots via incarnate system". =/No I wasn't. You can easily choose to plan your build ahead of time and put normal and incarnate slots where they will be most effective. So if you are going to slot your alpha with a global end redux you can use the normal slots that you'd normally fill with end redux to boost your Stamina.

Quote:Forbin was. I saw no indication that he was aware of the distinction, which is why I chimed in.
And again I don't think anyone was technically claiming that Incarnate slots = regular slots. -

You could go with open your window and yell up there "Hey! You playin' City of Heroes up there?"

Microsoft wanted a guarantee for WoW-level sub numbers, if I recall the discussions correctly. I believe the number tossed around was 1 million.
Also, this time period was about when Auto Assault was floundering around, trying to get an audience to extremely lukewarm critical reception, and eventually flopped all the way. If I remember right, at least. -
It's been discussed before. If I recall correctly, a dev commented that the power system isn't really suited to it, because it can't enforce an animation on the enemy, nor do I believe it is capable of being able to accurately model things like grabbing an enemy and throwing them.
It would also be incredibly ridiculous with enemies that aren't humanoid, or radical size differentials, leading to grabbing air and the enemy being radically shifted from the grab site. -
Quote:No, his premise is that NCSoft cut Cryptic's funding to skeleton crew minimal (personally and cynically, I suspect in order to set up the position in which they'd offer to buy out the game and devs later) which put Cryptic in the position of needing money and being open to deal making. NCSoft never gave orders, just said "Hey, we're paying you less and keeping the extra money". Because the deal they'd made would be something that actually made them money, they'd focus on that instead.
So your premise is that NCsoft told Cryptic to stop supporting CoX
To pursue the cynical line of reasoning: Years later, now that you know you have an established game with an extremely fanatical population, you buy it out, and position yourself as the savior. The extremely fanatical fanbase is more inclined to look upon what you do with a favorable light.
Your sarcasm and intentional uncomprehension does you no favors. -
I have a Sci-Fi/Fantasy Lit course this year. Our final project can be pretty much anything we can think of within those genres (including modern fantasy or horror). I'm leaning toward short story.

In contrast, the other forum I frequent has a lot less hardcore (and -especially- non-comic) geeks, and the reviews were fair, to mediocre, to "I'll wait until I can rent it for cheap".

Considering Castle's post (no Inherent fitness if you have the power pool Fitness powers), I believe the Fitness pool is gone, completely.

Not a fan of stalkers. I'm more of an up front kind of person.
Don't like Controllers or Dominators, either. Don't mind my Illusion too much, but then, I mostly just sic pets in that situation and then focus on my secondary. -
My experience differs from yours, then, so I will caution you that anecdote does not equal data. I will note that I am generally referring to Lieutenants and Bosses with regards to higher levels, because that's where the margin for bad luck, resisted holds, or "surprise, I was hiding around the corner/up above/behind the boxes/in the mess" becomes exceptionally unpleasant.
(also, my experience is that they're a replacement, not an addition.) -
For a low to mid-level character when solo, they're fairly lethal, especially if you're low on/out of inspirations. For a higher level one, they go down to moderate depending on "did I spot it" and "is it a boss". With IOs and a tweaked build, they become no threat. All in my experience, of course.
As is routine, on a team, everything becomes severely muddled.
I know you don't want to accept that, Bill, but Quants are, in fact, threatening to most Kheldians. A couple bad rolls on the knockdown and/or stun (or even the hop-in Incandescent/Gravity), especially for early level characters, means they're likely to wind up staying down.
