black_barrier has green rep. This is the first sign. Six to follow.

I always argued against crossover for multiple reasons, but since it's going to happen either I had to walk away or accept it, and I decided to make the best of it and accept it.
However, it still bothers me that the it homogenizes the game and the difference between good and evil being enforced by game mechanics is going to be lost (or may even become a revolving door, which IMHO would be very bad for the game). City of Heroes becoming City of Neutrals is what I fear most for the game.
But it's going to happen, and it isn't all bad (especially if you can put the Controller Stone APP on a Dom) so, here we are. I hope for the best.

Yes, in short, Super Reflexes is less effective in PvP now than it was in PvP 1.0 (and we all know how poor it was in PvP 1.0, so that tells you the sad state it's in).
So not only does everyone's ToHit bypass your Defense, but it's also impossible to build up enough Defense to give enough to survive on thanks to DR. Super Strength especially is rock to SR's scissor. With a single power, SS bypasses your 8 power picks in your whole secondary. Ouch.
A temporary solution was found to this in Elusivity. And it worked! Unfortunately, Forts also got Elusivity which, in addition to their hard and soft controls and range made Elusivity look overpowered so it was taken away from everyone when it just should have been taken away from Forts (and Personal Force Field).
In short, SR seriously needs the 30% Elusivity back. SR was not overpowered with it. At all. It was merely survivable for the first and only time in its PvP existence.
I play SR is casual zone PvP and let me tell you, the combat log regularly shows chances of 75%-95% to be hit (in other words, your secondary may as well not even be there). -
In that brief time of PvP 1.0 with VEATs, Banes were very solid, very under-appreciated PvP performers. I played one of the few in zones back then, and they were surprisingly good but unfortunately got overshadowed by the then-extremely-popular Fortunatas. Too bad too, because people were missing out on a unique new PvP Archetype/play-style.
Then PvP 2.0 came, and the VEAT damage nerf came, and even with Shatter Armor...it's just not the same. Irony of ironies I see more Banes now in zones than I ever did back then. I wonder if they know how good Banes used to be? -
You're thinking of skipping Practiced Brawler. Don't.

IMO this is a simple case of mudflation.
And the real enemy are not marketers, but those who purchase Inf'. -
Try not to be surprised when in the long run reside population actually declines and its market becomes beyond laughable. And PvP becomes even more homogeneous than it already is.
And yes, I will say "told you so". -
Why so much music filler? The reviews are good but the music is tough to sit through.

*sigh* That's actually a bug. Super Reflexes is supposed to report "Dodged" not "Deflected". Doesn't mean much from a mechanics standpoint, but it's very important from an immersion/concept standpoint. I hope this bug gets ironed out. I want my "Dodged" back.

Quote:You're right, people don't understand that "Natural" doesn't mean "no superpowers". Superman is Natural. There needs to be a term for "no superpowers", but "Natural" isn't it.you can do fire/dark...
just say you're an alien.
wouldnt gadgets fall unavoidably into the tech category?
Gadget types could be Natural or Tech. If I have a Gadget type guy who gets his equipment from elsewhere, I usually use Natural. If he makes the stuff himself, Tech can be most appropriate. If it's a powersuit, I lean more towards Tech. If the technology is implanted/permanently affixed, then definitely tech. -
Wailers tear up Electric Armor. Well OK, everything tears up Electric Armor.
But yeah, now that I'm leveling an Electric Armor Brute, you've just reminded me of the Wailers, and boy that just might make me ragedelete him yet again. Poor guy's been ragedeleted a dozen times, but the memory of how good ElA isn't fades with time and it's just so pretty. -

People who see such a zone imbalance and don't switch sides to help even things out deserve to get droned (I don't do any droning myself but I see it as a valid tactic; and it is easily avoided for those who don't want to be droned...just don't get so close to the base duh).

What bothers me about it is that Staminaless builds are not a viable option. If Endurance Reduction enhancements were a much higher value, Staminaless builds that can run at a speed similar to Stamina builds might actually become a reality. Right now, triple slotting for Endurance reduction in every attack is inferior to not slotting for Endurance Reduction at all but having 3-slotted Stamina. That's not balanced well, IMHO.

Quote:Actually, we do have MMOs that sell in-game currency. There's an entire sector of the MMO industry based around it (Free Realms; Mabinogi; Silk Road Online; many, many others). The model is very financially sound (over 1,000,000 people play Silk Road Online; Habbo Hotel's population dwarfs ours). In fact, the MMO industry in general is heading in this direction (with companies like Cryptic and Sony Online Entertainment leading the charge).True, in the scientific sense; we don't have a control MMO so we can sell currency in one but not the other.
I don't want to see Influence sold in this game, but everyone who wants to buy it already does, that's the reality, so if there is any damage to be done, it's been done. Only, NCsoft isn't getting the profits. The gold sellers are. -
Aion is made of evil. I'm NEVER touching that game!

Quote:[/Maelstrom]Sorry about this short rant, everyone! I HATE Drive-By-Buffers! Why do they think they have a right to Drive-By-Buff anyone without asking their permission first? Don't they even know, or care, the least little bit, that by doing Drive-By-Buffing, without asking first, is gonna make them a ton of enemies! *End Rant*
