Help with a VEAT PvP Build

I have a arachnos soldier sitting at 50 that I'm thinking about slotting up as a bane for PvP. I can tell now that its going to be a extremely tight build. Problem is I'm having a hard time deciding on what powers to choose over what and would like to hear from a experienced bane player. Any info would help. A full build would be nice but I can easily settle for a skeleton build or just some solid advice as a reference point on where to go with it.

Thanks in advance.

Spam shatter + shatter armor + webs.

Pretty sure banes don't have any other powers besides those

lol

I think I've been hit with mace beam once or twice. Either that or someones grandmother was trying to work me over.

Well the mace beam (from epic pool) fires from the same thing as the web, and it's your strongest ranged attack (I13 logic ftw).....so yeah, you can easily include that in your chain.

I've also seen some use surveillance, but in most cases that just suppresses them so they can't get any other attacks off, while I run away lol.

Before Solo mysteriously disappeared again, we were throwing around Bane builds in a thread. I can't find that thread, so here's the last build I remember posting:

(Replace Pulverize with Shatter Armor, as I don't think Mids has been fixed regarding that yet)

Perfect. Thanks mac.

If you're referring to the fact that shatter armor takes tohit IO's in mids rather than melee, yeah its still there.

In that brief time of PvP 1.0 with VEATs, Banes were very solid, very under-appreciated PvP performers. I played one of the few in zones back then, and they were surprisingly good but unfortunately got overshadowed by the then-extremely-popular Fortunatas. Too bad too, because people were missing out on a unique new PvP Archetype/play-style.

Then PvP 2.0 came, and the VEAT damage nerf came, and even with Shatter Armor...it's just not the same. Irony of ironies I see more Banes now in zones than I ever did back then. I wonder if they know how good Banes used to be?

Not really. Night widows had basically the same exact playstyle as banes, and still do for the most part. And most Fortunata players at least tried NW's with their second build.
