  1. Can't form the Trials without access to globals?
*stares at the brand new Team Teleporter feature that's sitting right there*
  2. There is not going to be a CoH2. This game will still be around in 3 years, to say the least.

  3. As I recall, a month ago I got mine for 370 million.
  4. Reading this thread reaffirms my belief this really is the best MMO community around, bar none. I'm very happy for the OP!

    WP question

Why not just roll a Tanker?
  6. I should probably clarify I'm talking only about my particular situation with my particular bases, I'm in no way commenting on other people's bases or bases in general.

    Ma/sr

Looks like a good build but I'd like to ask a couple questions to edumacate myself:

Why only one slot in your passives?

Why two slots in Practiced Brawler in a perma-Hasten build?

You don't actually use Boxing, do you? The HO in there makes me think you do?

I like your build and was just curious about these things.
  8. Did you read that guide I linked for you in the other thread? Read it and you will know. I know it's a lengthy read but it's worth every second of your time.

Make your teammates feel like they the important ones. That you need them. That you appreciate what they can do and what they bring.

    MA/SD vs. SS/SD

Eagle's Claw>Dragon's Tail is quite respectable with its extra crittage. The Purple damage proc makes it even moreso. It's no Footstomp, though.

I'd give the single target edge to MA. I'd give Endurance sustainability to MA as well as SS has an extra built-in Endurance cost in the Rage crash. MA overall just has way less downtime due to that same crash (you never stop doing damage unlike with SS).

I want to say Scrapper Shield Charge is better, but I'm not certain about that.
  11. Looks like I'm done with this project. Issue 20 is just around the corner and I'm rearranging how I'm approaching my in-game time. Yes, Issue 20 is that much of a game changer for me, and in the best possible way.

The rolls were producing right around where I suspected they would be, so I've proven to myself that an Alignment Merit is worth somewhere around 70 million. This is of course based on a statistically meaningless number of rolls, but all indications are that this is a good rule of thumb nonetheless. Take it for what it is: an anecdotal example, but one that agrees with other data points such as the cost of the top-tier (30-35 AM cost) PvP IOs and other people's random rolls.

The lesson we learned about crafting is that you can net something like 40% more Inf per roll if you craft and sell, but if you just sell the recipes you can still get a very respectable amount of Inf for minimal effort (somewhere around 2 billion in a month's time).

Are random rolls worth it? Everyone has to decide that for themselves. For myself I'm going to be using my AMs chiefly for buying things I'm actually going to use. If random rolls have a place in my AM strategy, I don't yet know what that is.

Thanks to everyone for reading and commenting!
  12. Other than Stalker, what is good in pvp?

To crush your enemies, see them driven before you, and to hear the lamentations of their women.
  13. 1. Looks WAY better than the trailers made it look.
    2. Chain Gun temp power rocks!
    3. Where's Pieface?
  14. The Villain Tip mission where you get Longbow Boss pets? That mission is hellacious.
  15. I'm just glad Villains are seeing any new content at all, and I hear the reward for doing it is much better than anything you can get out of the Hero one.
  16. The person complaining about color in signatures, and goes as far as to use a script to take all color out of all signatures, uses color in her signature. Interesting.
  17. They laughed at me when I kept Elude. Laughed! I was right. I was right.

Noticed several of them in Tip missions recently and even one of them in the last Synapse TF I ran.
It blows my mind that A) someone decided there weren't enough warehouses in the game and B) the new warehouse needed that many polygons.

And Praetoria is the new Roach Motel of the game. Previously it was the level 30-40 range, but these days 30-40 is nothing like it used to be. But Praetoria? Oh, yeah. Slow, slow, slow.

I've been wanting to roll an Ice/KM Tanker for redside, and I'd prefer for him to be Villainous his whole career, but that means rolling in Praetoria, and when I think of the time it's going to take to get him out of there I just end up not rolling him at all.

I do enjoy Praetoria on a number of levels, but its become thematically very weird and uncomfortable for me and the leveling just sucks compared to primal.
  19. Thanks for the great info, everyone! I'm having to consider whether the bases are worth keeping in light of this new annoyance. Bases are just useful enough to keep around all on their own, but if I'm going to have these micro rents due on a regular basis, like so many mosquitoes, I might just get the spray out and end them all together.

Ignoring the microrent long enough to get locked out of the base on the rare occasion I do want access is especially annoying. I'd almost really rather not bother with it.

    Well, I'll think about it.
  20. This is so archaic. They just need to remove all open story arc limitations.
  21. I was paired with a max chest slider cat girl, but on TeamSpeak it was clearly a man who had been chain smoking for the last 58 years.

We're having a June level pact and we're registered at Wentworth's.
  22. Haven't seen an episode in a long time but looks like I'll try to remember when this is on. Actual costumes are always nice to see. Modern superhero shows have been shying away from them, unfortunately. While there are perfectly valid "street clothes" looks for certain superheroes, a costume is always central to setting the character apart from the rest of society and establishing and showing us who they really are on the inside. A modern take on classical Olympic nudity. We have only to take a glance at them to know they are subject to a different set of rules from mere "mortals".
  23. I have two basic-plot bases and am being charged upkeep for them. WAI? And if so, was there ever a time when basic plots were not charged upkeep or am I misremembering?

The Shadow-Maul-Two-Step is difficult to learn, but easy to master. At the very least it's some AOE rather than none.

As for Thunder Kick being exchanged for Dragon's Tail, I think it would adversely affect low-level Stalker play. Dragon's Tail has a long, long recharge. Imagine having only that as an attack to start out. A lot of players would probably abandon the build right then and there.

However, an option where you can take either Thunder Kick or Dragon's Tail, in the same way you can take one power or another from some APPs/PPPs would probably work wonders for the set.

Today's PvE game is just so multi-target focused, any set that doesn't have at least one AOE option can only be considered broken on some fundamental level. I say that as a fan of Stalker Martial Arts.
  25. What I like about Bobcat is her tights are made of pantyhose material. Pantyhose material is quite sheer. Bobcat is awesome!
