No offense, but wouldn't it have made more sense to back up everything you wanted to keep or didn't want to download again, and just reinstall everything, OS included?
Not exactly ideal, but hey, nice squeaky clean system and majorly reduced likelihood of something throwing a hissy fit over the new kit and collapsing in on itself. -
If you've got fairly huge display like mine (1920 x 1200) and have your browser maximised, you really can't miss it.
If, on the other hand, you only have a small display, say 1024 x 768, or you keep your browser limited on at most half the screen like me, you'll most likely only ever get to see Statesman and Recluse.
Basically, the site's art-monkeys seem to have used some sense and took into consideration what resolutions gamers' screens were, more often than never, likely to be packing, and even the minimal likelihood of anyone with a huge display using all of it for a browser. Which is a smegging great deal more than can be said of most I've come across. -
"...ang on. Is this flamin' thing on yet? Aw crap, hang on... sorry, I'm not here at the moment but, uh... just leave a mess- aw, what now... OI!
What the hell do ya think you're playin' at, man! *CLANG!*
What did I flamin' well tell you about breakin' in here again? *CLANG!*
I told you, man! *CLANG!*
Never *CLANG!*
Break *CLANG!*
Into *CLANG!*
My place *CLANG!*
AGAIN!! *EPIC CLANG!!*
Now get the flamin' hell out, and if I catch you again, it won't be a flamin' pan I'll use! *SLAM!*
Flamin' ingrate... aw what the f- {BEEP}"
The sad part is, Richie probably won't have figured out how to re-record it again to this day. -

Intelligent input, darling...
Otherwise, I agree the guitar travel power ain't too great. If the same rules were applied to it as the other standard travel powers, as well as maybe a level a level limit, OR if and when power customisation is extended to pool powers (note the "IF" there...), it's made into a customisation option for Flight, then it would make more sense.
Throwing the horns would be impossible outside of Arachnos Soldiers sadly, and I reckon any /guitar emote will require Boombox levels of variation. Flying V please. Also, /airguitar. -
Quote:I think Wentworth's and Black Market is just as flipping nonsensical, again in my opinion. *shrug*Sooo, how did I buy this Improved Cybernetic Arm or this vial with mutant blood? And how did gave a buddy of mine influence so he could buy stuff. If Inf is not a currency that is?
Inf is not a currency is the dead horse here...it became currency when the dev's added the trade system and Wentworths. -
No offense, but you do realise that Inf is not currency in -that- sense of the word, right?
This is just nonsensical, in my opinion. -

Just remember that Westley's method only works with the enhanced message editor. If you're still using the basic or standard editor, you'll need to go into your User CP, look for Edit Options (down the side, under Settings & Options) then scroll all the way down to the bottom for your Message Editor Interface options. Do this before you try posting - even if it's only for this purpose - or you're smegged.

I find your sense of humour or lack thereof disturbing... -
*sighs*
*strolls up behind Tech and flicks his power switch to OFF* -
Recluse in the slammer? He'll either rot while someone takes his mantle as big bad or he'll bust or be busted out.
Recluse in a coffin? See above, the latter being very much possible, since someone's bound to have some means to resurrect and/or ghostify the bugger.
Quote:Depends on the circumstances, whether or not there was a choice in the matter, and the big bad's demise isn't always at his sworn enemies' hands either.Looks like Statesman's on the road to becoming Tyrant, in which case heroes are definitely still needed.

Quote:This. It kills several birds with one stone. It helps you find those final few elusive mobs, those who prefer such near-wild goose chases happy, also gives Tech heroes (or a character likely to make use of such tech regardless of origin) a new in-character toy to roleplay with (I know my AR/Dev blaster would approve!), and adds some much-needed expansion to the roster of Temp recipes.A good idea, but I'd rather see it as an inventable temporary power with a reasonable total duration (say, ten minutes or so.)
I think ten minutes might be pushing it, though. Go for two? -
A great idea, but but I'd prefer zonal Broadcasting to remain for several reasons. Options for both zone broadcasting and server broadcasting would deffo get my thumbs up, though.

Just realised that RSS feeds are available for each individual section. Great, I thought. That means I can set up Live Bookmarks for the sections I can be bothered with, I thought.
I thought wrong.
The problem with the RSS feeds here are that they don't quite work. Ideally, the feeds -should- show threads based on their most recent replies, if you ask me. But they don't. The feeds are based on the OPs' posting times instead of the last replies, which doesn't make a great deal of sense, really.
Just to clarify: The RSS feeds are showing the most recently made new threads, and I think they should show the most recently replied-to threads as well.
Is it possible to tweak this? Because that would be a proper lifesaver. -
...I only really get it for the covermount nowadays. >_>
If anything, I take more notice of Total PC Gaming than anything else now, but even then, not a great deal much more, but I've still yet to find crippling fault with them.
I may not be looking hard enough though. -
Quote:I'm not saying that Alec Meer's talking 100% crap through the article, and I do agree that a lot of it is true, but he should have done more homework. Calling the £3 jetpack a "horrible wound on the soul of a game originally built for unprecedented self-expression", saying there's naff all after L20 is the kind of just plain facepalm-inducing bull that manages to slightly override all the more sensible stuff in his article for me.you have every right to your opinion but I personally think that ignoring an article because you dont like what it says is the wrong way to go about it. the negatives are not plucked out of thin air, they do have a basis in reality as shown by many forum members through the years. Perhaps we should be looking at where these negative impressions come from and, if they have a solid base, discuss how they can be addressed.
Anyway, I would encourage any player of CoX to give the article a read and make up your own minds. Agree or disagree I think you'll find that the author has a few valid points.
Yes, I know, it's kinda the wrong way to look at it, but still. :\ -

On the plus side sorudo (or Youganite as he seems to be calling himself now) finally got something right. Kinda. o.O

Quote:I'm guessing he not only wants to have his character in casual garb, but also wants it to stand out among all the other crimefighters in civvies out there too.Why would you need costume help for that? I really am confused here.
Which is possible, but with the casualwear so flipping limited in CoX it's a total spherical object ache. It feels good to get a few o.O reactions from those you come across, though.
I'll try and get a few screenshots of my own chars for you, see if that serves as some form of inspiration.
