Quote:Taking the forum comments a little personal. Me being CPT Obvious and pointing out your LOLing at someone looking for help...it's not really judging your character. You could be the nicest person on the face of the planet, but I don't know you or your character like that. And you are?
Please, for all means, continue to judge my character on a joke; but this post proved to be more entertaining then the joke was at the time.
Here's my attempt at trying to be helpful by fast forwarding the convo...this is usually the point in these discussions where a lot of you call the offensive person a lamo, baddo, retardo and accuse them of having downs syndrome and using the internet connection at White Castle to play. Fulfill your forums PvP destiny. -
Yeah, but you have to admit that if you do a search on the pros...more times then not there is a lot of critical input going on when someone is simply looking for helpful advice.

Quote:I hear you too Con, but me posting a simple opinion thats not TLDR doesn't mean I want to be your mom/dad or the PvP morality police. Have a good time defending anyone that wants to make fun of people trying to get better at PvP. You're usually pretty helpful; I really apologize though for forcing you to respond to me when you could have been better off spending your time being critical and/or LOLing at someone's quest for guidance and build help.I was just thinking I needed more parents. You showed up just in time.
Just so we are clear and sarcarsm doesn't always translate into text, this was indeed sarcasm.
If your idea of being helpful is trying to police people to make the pvp community better you are in for a long rough ride. gl hf
Edit: while I am here. If you are going to do mostly zones don't underestimate power push. Far fewer people have the kb protection you would think. In fact on freedom in rv I have had days where I spent hours knocking people around with just spirit sharh on my stalker. Seeing the damage on power push is meh I would probably do 4 kin crashes( all the kb pieces) and 1 acc io or two depending on how your slotting is going. As a pain dom I wouldn't worry a whole lot about damage tbh. Make sure to get enforced morale if you are teaming it makes stuns hurt alot less on a squishy. Never ever skip wop. I know the kbing melee toons sounds awesome and all but really there is better power investment on a pain dom. The reason you do soul is for pbed heals to help with heal decay in zones and to help deal with spikes in arena. I have a nrg pd but he is not pvp speced and on a dead server. If i was to tranfer him or recreate him I would probably go blast burst and push for attacks and add aim from the primary. Everything but the rez from the secondary and skip ac if you need another power pick to fit in phase. Just my two cents though.
Catch you in the game...I'm not a fan of forum PvP. -
I hear you and definitely agree Mac...thats why I said this "(I know creativity doesn't always translate into solid PvP play)". Not sure what that has to do with people forum lulzing someone genuinely looking for help though. Check out the dude in my signature...now he requires some massive PvP pro LOLing in my opinion.

Quote:I think I saw your Corr in SC this weekend if it has a similiar name as your forum avatar (good times). Definitely need to work something into the build that ups your damage output b/c I felt like I could focus on someone else in your team and then come back to you even though you were attacking as well. Take a look at WoP...for 90 seconds you get a 16% dmg buff along with decent + resistance and + to hit depending on how you slot. Not sure how much the DR hit counts for...but with some recharge, you can get it from 240 secs down to like 70 secs.Hmmm, I can definitly see taking out Power bolt because the damage is low, I really do think I need power burst to pump out decent damage, after pvp'ing with and without it in SC it seems to make a big difference. Also, I am taking soul storm because it does knockdown to melee's, its pretty much the reason I went soul.
Is enforce moral necesary? I know its useful, but is it more useful than my 2nd single target heal or world of pain? -
I respect your gaming abilities and all that, but if someone signs into the forums and asks nicely for build help...whats the deal with PvP pros and all the "LOL"ing?
It's cool that later you helped, but I'll never get making fun of people that decide to to be creative and don't sit around Midsing/regurgitating the same cookie cutter builds as everyone else (I know creativity doesn't always translate into solid PvP play). Give the person the benefit of your experience with the pros and cons so they can add to what little of a community there is left.
Basically this applies to forums too:
"To those we have left,

Stop being “baddos” and start helping to rebuild the PvP community. -

Quote:Its pretty crazy...Aah. I see. And I agree, at least about the Travel supression part. I tried a few fights with Travel supressed, it was lol material. Not sure about heal Decay yet, I've yet to play a character with healing abilities in PvP.
Based on DR, I think if whatever healing power being used recharges in under 8 seconds, you start getting back limiting returns. It seems like the same mechanics of when the devs implemeted ED...your return after slotting the same enhancement 3x is negligible. -
Quote:I posted for build help recently with a Fire/TA toon and the usual pros helped out. Hopefully answers your question...Never played a ta in pve or pvp. For pvp what's skipable exactly?

Yeah, that's the whole point.
I couldn't believe he was running his mouth like some kind of professional and offering challenges on a lv30 Defender. Dude got caught up in how "good" he is on an IOd out Blaster and started believing the hype. I don't even get down with arena like that, but I dont care how much of a pro you are...if you tell me to get any toon to fight your lv30 Defender...
fail. -
Quote:This, but sometimes....I usually hit ignore, some people in PvP aren't worth getting into a pissing match with.
some dude: "ur a lamo...all you do is basehug and throw webnades; get wrekted in arena nubcakes"
me: "i know im pretty bad and your a real good pvper...so you could probably beat me on that toon and I could pick anything. lol, make the match and ill join you"
>>long pause<<
some dude: "get whatever you want, idc. bring a blaster or a PB or whatever noob"
me: "lol brb man...switching"
>>switch<<
match between a lv30ish Storm Defender and lv50 PB ensues...
15-0 smash up
some dudes friend: "hey wait man, hes gonna get on his Blaster"
me: "lol, what for...just beat him 15-0"
some dude: "yeah, go head and talk man...but fight me now on this"
some dude: "scared?"
some dude: "scared?"
some dude: "scared?"
me: "cmon dude, ur rules and i won...you got beat by a lamo"
>>no more "LOLS!" or trash talk about how good his new Defender toon is<<
fun! -
Quote:good 1 (thumbs up).
I read the 1st part of the post and totally agree. The rest...TLDR, but I still agree.
Everyone has their own reason for being a d!ck in PvP. Recently, some dude was going on and on with the usual zone smack talk which I normally ignore. I got tired of his LOL macros on some 2-3V1 action, spoke up and why did I do that? He throws out the mandatory "ur a lamo" remark and he and his buddy commenced to tell me how much he'd wreck my face in arena (not exact words, but paraphrased and close enough). Since I was so bad, I could pick any toon and he'd fight me on his lv30ish piece of crap/piece of crap SOd whatever. I don't arena much except casually, but since I was currently playing a PvE toon and just throwing webnades, I must really be horrible...why not go for it? Switched toons like he told me, broke him off proper and then conveyed to him one of the the lessons learned should be "Don't talk so much and just enjoy the game". Well, smack talk continued for the rest of the night b/c he immediately got on his Blaster, he and his buddies called me scared while I exchanged with him and continued throwing webnades and watching Stalkers smash people up.
I know some people think it's their IRL job to piss everyone else off, but I'm sure like most of you, seems to be too much real world going on to get upset at a video game. It's your money, but...this:
"Is it really that difficult to have fun and be competitive?
Win or lose, is it impossible for some of you to be positive and encouraging as well?"
I guess it depends on maturity level and whether moms breast fed or bottle fed the kid. -
Wanted to say...nice toon Ares. Seems like a rash of Stormies popped up overnight in zone all of a sudden; you must have inspired people.
-
Other then a few, special moments...SC has turned into the new Bloody Bay. People stand around at the HDS, chatting and dancing. Someone will get froggy and finally attack while a duel is happening and when you go back to farm them...they cry and its resumption of sexy PvP time.

xCHAOSx - "well, when i made him i i had both, and learned that you cant run both together, so i ditched AF. and how is AF better in every aspect? it offers a very small increase in def over stealth, doesnt have def to all like stealth does, and it costs more endo to run than stealth. so...if you wanna run concealment pool with med pool, you can limit yourself to only takn 3 powers rather than 4 to fit in AF. the benefits just seem all that great. you can slot the same stuff in stealth as u can in AF. just my 0.02 tho. everyone plays different, thank you for your input tho."
I agree with Mac...Arctic Fog edges out in front of Stealth for a few reasons:
- Stealth & AF provide the same stealth value I think
- the difference in the endurance cost is very minor
- with the current Defense mechanics, the few points VS all that Stealth provides isn't
a big deal which I think you lose once you attack
- Stealth has an inherit negative movement speed aspect
- Stealth provides a self buff, AF is a team buff
- AF allows you to slot for Defense and Resisitance; depending on the build, you can
probably max out your resistance to fire, cold & energy attacks
- AF provides resistance VS runspeed debuffs and recharge time debuffs -
I forget who it was, but someone mentioned coding the zones for double xp as an incentive to pull people in. I'm not sure how that would play out, but always thought that sounded like a good idea.
-
I don't love PvP 2.0, but I played some before the i13 changes and remember Blasters having Tank level defense etc. I wasn't a fan of that either, but the new system could have definitely been implemented better.

Quote:Shes/hes talking about from a RPing perspective. Like I said earlier, should make PvP a lil more exciting.I'm currently not planning to take my Widow, or Soldier to Paragon. But I don't get the reference above that stated that if you walk around Paragon in your Arachnos uniform the Heros will attack you.
Unless you enter a free-for-all PVP zone, how can they attack you? Other than making comments about you in Broadcast?
My vote is to let players switch their Veat's if that is there preference. -
Quote:My main man Max...good to see you tooHey jerseyan...long time no see.
As far as elf, he's a black guy from NYC. So he has no more reason to sound like an 8 year old than you. Yeah, it's sad. And no, he's not "trying". Any time someone corrects anything, he just insults them. He's perfectly content with being seen as an ignorant moron. And as such, he deserves to be treated like one.
He could very well be a "Black" guy in NYC and English still not be his 1st language. If he's American and typing stuff like the following...well, pretty hilarious:
"I recornized through PVP community on Champion as one those greats."
"Sounds like you have a crush for me! tisk tisk" who says tisk tisk?
"Does you correcting my spelling make your little pecker raise up? Your a lame O! get use to it square." who says pecker or square?
and my all time favorite "Creamed on top your hair... While the teabag does there magic"
If this is a English 1st language type person...imma need pix or it didnt happen lol. -
I agree with Chad. I've seen that whole "HEATs/VEATs shouldnt be allowed to switch sides!" discussions before. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion and can restrict themselves to not switch sides if thats the way they feel, for whatever RPing reason they have. I'm just glad I have the option of changing loyalties for some fun variety.

Quote:If you look at the way he forms his rants...seems as though English isn't his 1st language. It's cool to make fun of stoopid people, but I never been a fan of giggitying at foreigners. I've picked up a couple of languages when I was in the military, but to the extent of "I need 5 more beers" & "You're hot as hell after 5 beers".Its pretty obvious ELF ate lead paint chips as a kid...which may well still be the case.
More time in english class and less time ranting on the forums would probably be a good idea for him, but yeah, this kid is gold for the lulz.
But going through life making no sense must be frustrating, so unless he wants to buy everyone retard>english translators, he probably should tighten up his vocabulary and communication skills.
The bottom line is: If you want to speak in public, you must learn how to communicate properly, or no one will take you seriously, or worse, people will think you are dumb.
Idiot or not, I can respect someone that can get across the concept of "Creamed on top your hair... While the teabag does there magic" in a language that's not their 1st. You know what the guy means even though it looks crazy as hell lol. -
Thx Barrier. I don't always think outside the box when Midsing and I like the thoughts on webbing. Restructuring now based on the build and advice the two of you have posted; appreciate the help.
