To go on your original premise of being able to be a millionaire to throw money at a fail MMO, what Id find most lolzy would be:
A realistic medieval MMO.
It would take literally days of in game time to craft anything.
Even playing 60 hours a week woundt make enough to buy the land that you work for the landed gentry.
There would be many diseases including STDs with no cure.
Full loot PvP, but you could only get to level 80 while the rich and their knights are level 100, so there really wouldnt be anyone to loot since they were all also poor.
Oh and Perma death. -
I have never felt that any of my hero/villain creations were particularly original, but I have been complimented on quite a few occasions for their originality, so I agree with the posters above regarding the subjectivity and recycling aspect of it.
Most of the things I get told are original are simply stupid running jokes of mine.
One would be thinking about how the characters powers would make it hard to date.
Several of my toons bios are simply dating ads specifying what types of resistances potential mates should have (smash, lethal, etc.).
In particular, I always thought my spines/ character would be hard to date. Who has toxic resistance?
The other stupid thing was the hard partying super hero that only does heroic missions because they have court ordered community service.
Prior to being able to mail stuff to yourself, I used a solo SG named Court Ordered Community Service to transfer IOs. -
Vampire crowd control set for trollers and doms.
Has a few melee attacks, but mainly single and multiple target mezzes like
Flex Muscles - stuns a single target.
Run fingers through hair - cone stun
Sparkle - AoE blind -
I was not going to comment because I havent played invuln to high level. But I would suggest a very different philosophy to slotting on a budget. There are a lot of cheap sets that people will sell for very little because they dont have the sought after bonuses like defense or recharge. You can get many cheaper than the unnamed IOs.
You can get much better stats on powers on the cheap, without worrying about bonuses, using named IOs where you get drops, and hunting for cheapos.
For example: instead of 6 slots in Unstoppable, you can 5 slot with mixed match sets for resist and recharge and one recharge and one resist IO to hit the diminishing returns on resist. With a quick check on mids I was getting 56.70 resist 95.57 recharge 5 slotted.
And actually, for that power, I wouldnt worry about maxing resist anyway, since youll probably cap it anyway easily. (see the 'totals' tab on Mids, blue v pink, and mouse over it).
This will free up slots, which you need for attacks to add accuracy for one. Even if you arent worried about a lot of damage as a tank, you need to hit to keep aggro.
I wouldnt do this on things that you want one stat in. Like conserve power or hasten, yes, just 3 slot reduce recharge.
But in my opinion, dont spend too much time on this, cause if you like the character, and get to 50, you start getting the drops you need, or go for merits and save up and pick em.
Also, pretty sure focused accuracy is a toggle with a negligible recharge, Id go end reduction. Without looking at mids, just from memory I think its and end hog. -
New MM class: Pro Wrestlers
This would be a tanky, crowd control MM primary. The first types of henchmen would be basic pro wrestlers. The second tier would be luchadores. The third would be a giant-roid-rage type.
To elaborate on the above, this would be a set with less henchman damage than many MM primaries, but more crowd control and tanking, since many of the henchman’s attacks would be much more dramatic than effective.
Things such as clotheslines, and back hand chops, would abound. They will look cool but do very little damage because these henchies lack an understanding of basic physics including that they often stop on the ground for extra sound, hereby allowing the mat to absorb their force instead of their opponent.
However, most attacks would have a PBAoE taunt effect.
The luchadores and the giant would also verbally taunt foes about half the time rather than fighting. This would include taunts regarding their mothers, taste in music, and countries of origin.
The non-hench attacks of the Pro Wrestler MM would be more damaging, but more spike damage with longer cooldowns than some sets.
A couple suggestions:
Call Girlfriend. This power summons a wrestler’s girlfriend. Girlfriends come equipped with a variety of stealth attacks with objects such as championship belts, high heels, and chairs.
Teleport to Parking Lot. This power teleports the MMs entire team to a parking lot where there are no refs. There wrestlers can use real weapons like knives and glass bottles. After a short commercial, the team is teleported back to their original location. -

Here are some things I'd do differently and why, but they shouldn't be taken as me saying your build is bad, what you did makes sense, these are preferences - -- things to think about.
I'd add a slot at least to Follow Up for recharge and accuracy to make it easier to stack and to make sure it hits for its very useful tohit buff. Perfect Zinger will slot and has Acc/recharge as does the purple melee set.
This is more arguable, I personally wouldn't slot Focus with Taunt, I dont think the added defense is worth the hit to DPS.
That brings the dmg per activation from 208 to 248 in Mids with your current self buffs slotted with Decimation and you can almost back to back spam that and Eviscerate for wtfpwnage.
I might also go with soul mastery over Mu if it fits your concept.
Damage will be about the same, but im my experience with both sets on an Elec specifically the -tohit on Dark Obliteration is quite powerful when fighting a large group in PvE.
As for saping, of course having Mu Mastery will sap foes of their End even faster, but I find most are sapped right after alpha with just lightning field and Power Sink. I feel that the -tohit is more mitigation than the sapping.
also, with Dark Obliteration you can slot Siphon Insight for more S/L and melee defense. obviously with a loss to dps.
For PvP, i'd stay with MU, sapping players works a lot better (at least last time i pvpeeed, been a while). -
eh I wrote this story but it wouldnt fit in the ID box. Thought maybe someone would enjoy reading it. My wife thought the end was funny.
Hero Profile: Grandville
Identity: Aja Chatterjee
Real Name: Aja Kavita Chatterjee
Height: 5'2"
Weight: 120 lbs
Age: 26
Aja Chatterjee was born in Founders’ Falls to immigrant parents from New Delhi.
Her father, Dr. Chatterjee was an enthusiastic chemist for Crey
Industries, who according to him, unknowingly ended up working on
technology for Lord Recluse. This led the family of four, Aja’s
father, sister Kavita, and mother, to hastily move to the Rogue Isles.
This was traumatic for 17 year old Aja. Though her father’s name was
eventually cleared through legal maneuvering by Crey Industries, the
three years away from home affected her.
For one, she stopped hiding her mutant power to store and emit energy
in various forms. Her father had feared who, especially at Crey, might
want to run tests on her if it were known. His fears turned out to be
warranted, though Aja escaped the one attempt unharmed (the lab that
Crey attempted to lure Aja into on the other hand was a pile of
charred rubble). Second, Aja fell in with an unsavory crowd. Drug use
and vandalism became common recreation for Aja and her new friends.
Despite her mother’s pleas, when she her family was able to return to
Founders’ Falls, Aja did not immediately return. In an attempt at
reconciliation, Aja’s father promised to quit his job at Crey if she
would return home – a large step for the always financially
responsible Dr. Chatterjee.
Aja has attempted to put her anger behind her and is now enrolled with
Freedom Corps. Her father is a college professor, content that he put
his family over his career, if sometimes unhappy at his income.
Some of Aja’s briefly trouble past still haunts her. For one, the name
“Grandville.”
She got this nickname from other Freedom Corps trainees when they
found out she has “Welcome to Grandville” tattooed above her crotch.
She does not like being called Grandville by the way.

Not going to happen. Disney hasn't made a new movie in years. Same scripts they just change the names - kinda like madlibs. Heck they recycle animations http://www.koreus.com/video/disney-ressemblance.html

Quote:That is a good point. I would say that, on my Earth/Kin, who has the same, actually exactly the same, pool and ancillary powers - by keeping siphon speed 2x up, you are sucking end with transferance way more often than you are running out. Its active end management, but its easy management. I immediately use up blue inspirations unless i'm fighting Malta or Carnival since I never need to worry about it. But hot feet is an end hog, so he might be right.I don't have Mid's on this computer so I can't comment on the build. However, I wanted to comment about using Obliteration in Hot Feet. The Obliteration set has very little Endurance Reduction. While endurance isn't nearly the problem for a Fire/Kin as other Fire Controllers, the Oblit set doesn't have enough EndRdx for Hot Feet. There are plenty of other places it is a good choice, but put it in Hot Feet and you may run into endurance issues.
-
Wonder what they'd think at work if I had the flaming eyes aura.
-
I have a 50 fire/ dom and two 50 kins, but not a fire/kin so I'll explain my comments with that caveat.
Things I'd do differently and why.
I'd pull several slots from other places and slot up Siphon Speed so you can stack it.
Take a look at it stacked in Mids. I usually run two stacked all the time.
I'd use Obliteration on Hot feet instead, unless I'm wrong and you are capped on 5% recharge bonuses.
I don't think the 10% proc on Fissure is worth it. I think adding a 5th slot to Seismic Smash and adding Crushing Impact would allow you to use siphon speed faster and overall increase recahrge more often and reliably. -
The crash isnt usually a big deal for me. Just a few seconds, you can find something useful to do during them, you can still aggro, chase a runner etc.
-
I have a very similar build and it rocks. Main differences - I don't have stealth, I have a stealth IO in one of the extra sprints. I also have Grav Emanation slotted and Inky Aspect and can stack disorients in a pinch to protect team mates.
I don't have as much recharge but still have perma Eclipse. What I have in place are purple damage proc IO sets. Not sure it makes a big diff, but its fun to see the numbers. -
agree with the above poster. I'd just buy the GvE and then pay attention to what bonus powers and costume parts you see other people use. Then you can ask and buy the add ons as you like. I think I have bought all of them, but honestly I didn't need to. I just like to keep giving these Devs my money for some reason.
My really quick highlights tho just to help you out:
ninja pack - 'free' fast running and medium jump power.
cyborg pack - as noted above, BIG BOOOM! not often, but often enuf for those times when the team is about to wipe anyway and you wanna take some with you.
magic pack - random nice buffs for team mates. (most people have this one) -
woooo!
Thank you Devs.
In just the few hours I've had on live between gf aggro,
-I've found SSKing to make it a lot easier to find teams.
old = "forming lvl 8-9 team, pst" "oh sorry no1 can LK you, lets find a lvl 10" "any lvl 10s lft?" *wait* *wait* "well just hang back until you lvl." *lower lvl goes afk*
new "forming lvl 7-10 ish team pst" *tell* *tell* *tell* "okay lets go!"
-Earth Assault is starting off great
-Finally have my viable storm cloud melee toon (elec/dark scrapper) which never could quite tank as a brute, but did lovely AoE and had a great bio imho.
-I understand the AE controversy and don't have a strong opinion either way but wanted to add - I think the boss farms were limiting the creativity I have enjoyed in people putting together builds. One of the things that has kept me playing CoX is that there is so much variation of how you can build a toon, even with the same primary and secondary when you consider pools and epic/patrons. Boss farms were forcing people to extreme specialization, straight up tank, all control, all dmg, all buffs/heals. Was missing the 'healer' that could take out a mob once in a while and the scrappers and trollers that could 'tank' in a pinch.
-am rewriting bios and am parked at the tailor for several toons. They can now have much less contrived bios thanks to power customization!!! TY TY TY Devs. -
So is it confirmed that the Rogue areas will be new zones?
I guess I was hoping in my wild dream that your 'alignment' would somehow affect how some mobs would aggro on to you. Like if you were fairly neutral at the time, you could go to Mercy or to Atlas and Longbow and RIP would leave you be.
In my even wilder dream, that there would be a timer, and it would account for aggressor/defender (i.e. who attacked first), so that if you walked up to some hellions and they attacked first, longbow/RIP would leave you alone, but if you made the first strike you'd get an 'arrest' timer.
In my totally insane dream, I was hoping that they would add a factional element that would keep track of who you defeated. For example, after a few missions v. 5th column regular Council leave you alone. That's my distant "what if..." but I always thought that would give a whole new reason for picking certain missions, archs, for teams or solo and for spending time in certain zones. Could sortof move people into being mroe territorial ...uh beyond Atlas, Cap, PI, and Grandville. -
My 50 earth/kin/stone is one of my mains. Some mean tricks:
Stone cages and several dmg procs for 90+ dmg + procs - with the fast recharge on that, have soloed BM mobs bosses inc by just repeatedly hitting the cages - cause I had a phone call hey. well stoney helped i suppose.
Buffing stoney and running invisible into a mob with purples. rar!
Enough global recharge + stacked siphon speed and my Earth'd Embrace is perm.
with the aforementioned recharge and 5 purples in the AoE stun...you get the picture
Procs in earth quake
My freaking heal has a dmg proc
Okay it has become a ridiculous build over time...But she's pretty handy on any team...once (sorry i had a long distance phone call and went afk) at the end of a terra volta respec and when i got back my team was wiped (in their defense we had some lvl sidekick mentor disconnect issues) dropped quake on the reactor which had 1 or 2 mobs on it, ran around handing out wakes to who needed or ID'd those with wakes but surrounded once they rezzed, took out the mobs near them, healed them, refilled their end so they could finish them off and moved to the next teammate. Shouts of woo hoo and high fives were all around.
Hell she has embarassed self-appointed farmers many a time when they died and she cleared portions of the map by the time the got handed a rez. -
I should have taken time off work this week. New grav/earth Dom is starting off so nicely.
Have redone 3-4 of my 50s power colors.
Love my new SS brute being able to switch costumes (with the same tailor settings, elec armor visualizations, but different attack options) and have different attacks.
Love soloing a mayhem at +2 x 6, may have to grab some inspirations and crank it higher. Raaar!
Metal Spikes/regen scrapper, with almost no regen visual FXs!! Just put dark red on the heal, a la per her bio, sucking the like out of foes through their blood. Pearline tries to be good she just wasn't drawn that way. -
really great guide. So glad I read this as I was lvling my claws/sr.
