You're calling me closed minded yet you keep calling for Brutes as Tanks because of your mypoic stance, and diss MMs as tanks.
Ironic or sad? -
I would take them farther then level 6 or level 8. My personal preference is up to level 22 for stamina and SOs. Then I determine if I want the other 28 levels on this character.
So brutes r gud, dey smash gud and r gud. k? -

I heard the new powerset in I16 is the Go-Go Gadget Set. I'm not sure exactly the specs, but I've heard it's far reaching.

In before the EM hate.
Most of the hate comes from current vets that played EM before the nerfs. EM/ELA was THE FOTM before IOs, so there are quite a few vets upset still.
From what I've seen, EM is liked by most newbies and I still see it fairly often. I will add I see more tanks and stalkers with EM then I do brutes. -

I guess Clouded's Praetorian version would be Evian or Aquafina. -

You do know that on small teams they do not spawn in every group right?
[/ QUOTE ]
Oh, so now it's small teams we're talking about. In that case, EM will still perform fine since there won't be so much AoE damage being slung around. It gies the brute ample time to lay down some EP + BS followed up by a TF or ET.
[ QUOTE ]
You do also know that on larger teams, you have enough members that can take out bosses or bring them down to very few HP in less than 3.3 seconds right?
[/ QUOTE ]
So now we're talking about uber teams? I like how you keep moving the goal posts.
Keep it up! -
You do know there are bosses when you play on a team, right?

Time for me to head out. My subscription ends today and I won't be re-newing for a little while. I've had a lot of fun over the last 3 years on these forums and ingame, of course.
Hopefully, RL will ease a bit in the future and I'll be back for Going Rogue or something down the line.
Freedom was my server of choice and Legions of Doom: Doom Supremacy is where you can find some of the greatest Freedom players. Big props to the SG for hitting our 5 year Anniversary. Doom Supremacy
I wish you all happy gaming and perhaps I'll be making snarky posts in your threads sooner rather then later.
BAI!
p.s. no you can't have my stuff. -
You're going to need to supply much more evidence.

LR's recharge is affected by enhancements and global recharge, unless a change was implemented that I'm unaware of. -
Buffs are to players, as debuffs are to critters.
Wait, what? -
So, you've resorted to trolling someone?

The title of your thread is wrong.

However if it helps them (any red names reading this) I doubt I'd still be subscribing (again) to this game if I were dealing with the same levelling curve as I was 2 years ago, or 4 years and so on.
[/ QUOTE ]
Well, this might be a problem...
[/ QUOTE ]
That came off as snarky. If it wasn't intended that way then I apologize.
Would you care to further explain what you meant by this then?
[/ QUOTE ]
Sure. That sentence was a transition between your first quote in my post and then the second.
You mentioned how you'd probably not be around if the leveling curve was similar to the process 2 years ago, and then I showed your next post where you stated 230+ levels in 30 days. It goes from one end of the spectrum to the other. -
[ QUOTE ]
Well thats a great way to have a discussion, ignore the opposing argument and simply continue to repeat you are correct without providing any reasonable argument to support that conclusion, bravo, lol. Reminds me of a child covering their ears and repeating lalalalalala so they don't have to face reality.
[/ QUOTE ]
We've been down this alley before and I don't care what you think of EM because your viewpoint is obviously skewed due to ET's animation nerf.
[ QUOTE ]
Once again, the single target damage is no better than several other sets, while it's aoe abilities are far behind the same sets that do similar single target damage, that makes it a bottom feeder.
[/ QUOTE ]
ST damage is not the worst and it's not the best. AoE damage is poor, probably at the bottom, if not the worst. Mitigation is good, the capability to stun bosses IS GOOD MITIGATION. Whirling hands might be a terrible power for damage, but stunning 2-3 minions each activation is good mitigation. The Damage Type is not heavily resisted so that gives EM a higher rating. If it were purely Smashing damage, then there would be more to discuss.
[ QUOTE ]
And I'm not sure how you could consider single target stuns a 'good' form of damage mitigation in comparison to several sets that have dmg mitigation that affects entire groups of enemies and is far more reliable
[/ QUOTE ]
If you've played EM you'd be able to answer your own question. That's why I try to not respond to your constant attacks on EM. You don't want to like the set since you're still butthurt over the changes.
EM is not the best set and I'm not arguing from that viewpoint. You keep stating this set is a bottom-feeder, but you provide no evidence to support your claim. There have been tests done that show EM is above average for ST damage and I think it was performed by Billz with the help of various players.
AoE damage is poor, and that's the only point we agree on.
The stuns are good mitigation, and you always debate this point and I'm not sure why. If you've played the set, then you know anything less then a boss is stunned after 2-3 attacks and a boss scan be stunned with a couple more.
The damage type is what helps this set retain some of it's former glory. It's a mix of smashing/energy but with energy making up the majority of the damage and it being much less resisted; the set fairs much better against tougher opponents with higher resistances.
I shelved my EM/ELA Brute awhile ago because SS/WP and Fire/SR were much more fun and suitable to my playstyle. I blame /ELA more then I do EM/.
However, I have been playing a DA/EM Tank that does just fine for teams. WH + OG does a great job as active mitigation. Not to mention, stunning bosses is a common occurence due to the stacking stuns.
EM is a better solo set then for teams if the player is concerned about the max ub3r expezz/min. I'm not. I play to punch stuff in the face and EM sets that goal.
So there you go. The same tired arguement I've made time and time again. Next will be your same ole tired "bottom-feeder" response that discounts the ST damage, reminds me of the poor AoE damage (duh), discounts the stunning capability and then ignores the damage type. Gee, I can't wait. -

And please keep your snarky comments to yourself.

In the past month I've levelled 2 Tankers to 50, a Troller to L41, a Scrapper to 46, another Scrapper to 35 and currently have a baby Tanker at L24 (new build idea).

I'm not a dev but I'm going to guess 236 levels in 30 days (# of hours would be a better determinent) is outside what they consider "ok."
Your choice to level your heroes this way is your call, and I don't really care. I just hope you are objective to know it might be a bit outside their leveling curve. -
Ya know my favorite part about Sleet? Slotting an Achilles Heel Chance for -res.
-
Fire or Energy Melee are my votes. I don't have much experience anymore but I use to fair well with my Em/ELA Brute even after the changes to ET and TF.
-
No, I really didn't read what you wrote.
Energy Melee gives the player "good" ST damage, "good" mitigation in the form of stuns, "poor" AoE damage, and a "good" damage type (energy is not highly resisted).
Sorry to burst your EM-Hate Bubble, but it's not a bottom-feeder. -
I'm not getting into your bickering match with Turbo. I was stating why you were wrong about Cold/ not having time to attack.
I prefer Cold/ over FF/ and that's all that matters to me. -

Kinda, but now they can also take Health without Swift/Hurdle, etc. That's pretty cool in my book since I'm always tight on power picks.
[/ QUOTE ]
I thought it was just travel pools, not all the pools. Am I wrong about that?
[/ QUOTE ]You're right, it's just travel powers. Stamina still requires Swift or Hurdle to be chosen first. Even if Stamina were included, the tier 4 power would still require 2 earlier choices.
[/ QUOTE ]
I said Health, not Stamina. I thought the Vet REward allowed the player to choose a Tier 2 power, like Health, at level 6 rather then 14.
