1. My namesake is a Dark/Sonic Defender that I've re-built a few times over the years but I think I have decided on a build but would like some feedback to see if I could squeeze out an addition 3% ranged defense somewhere (without the PvP IO) to hit the ranged def softcap.

I'm currently running 42% Ranged Defense and easily softcapped when DN is toggled, but I don't want to rely on that power.

I team exclusively on this hero and I would like to keep my power picks as is.

Here is my current build on Live:

I'm hoping some fresh eyes would help me find the additional 3% ranged defense to complete my softcapped build while maintaining the current power selection.

Thanks!
2. Dang, that must have been a "Doh" <facepalm> moment fo sho.

4. Have you provided testing feedback to show the drops rates are low?

Also, keep in mind some of these patches occur days, if not weeks, in advanced. So this new patch could have been done earlier this week or last week.

It does not matter one whit whether or not what Twixt was doing was "against the game zone mechanics or rules." What matters was that people did not find it enjoyable or even amusing. These sort of behaviors are only [marginally] forgiveable if they are funny.

[/ QUOTE ]

Did Twixt design the mechanics and rules for PvP in CoX?

No. He followed the mechanics and rules available to him so it becomes the players problem for not accepting these mechanics and rules.

It's a QQ situation for these players.

Don't like how PvP works then leave.

Don't like the chat then /ignore.

Don't like the mechanics then complain to the Devs and not blame Twixt for playing the game, following the rules, doing some research on a particular topic and making observations.

[/ QUOTE ]

You must be daft because I can't understand for the life of me why you are defending a person that clearly manipulated their research to suit their hypothesis. [censored], that's giving him credit for even ESTABLISHING one before he began playing the game.
9. QR

It's simple really. These Players are looking for the path of least resistance and AE farming is just that.

If people quit because they now have to level up to 10 without AE, then let them leave. It takes 2-3 hours to hit level 10 doing sewers and/or missions. On CoV, I think it's even easier with the bank farm given from Mongoose.

[/ QUOTE ]

NCsoft just won't allow that. Not with a retail box out Clouded. Let's face reality here.

[/ QUOTE ]

Prehaps you are taking my response to someone else as a suggestion. My comment was in direct response to his "people will quit" theory.

[ QUOTE ]

This is the same business that wouldn't allow our dev team to put a patch (publishing freeze) to get rid of obvious exploits which they forced them to release issue 14 with live btw, because of some arbitrary anniversary.

[/ QUOTE ]

I don't care for conspiracys, and this has nothing to do with my post.
11. [ QUOTE ]
Thunderstrike uses the exact SAME animation and does a lot less damage. Only 58% as much damage Yes that means TS is not a very good attack anymore for anyone wondering.

[/ QUOTE ]

Um, isn't Thunderstrike an AoE?

13. It should be called Conserve Energy and supply a +HP/heal component similar to Dull Pain along with the endurance discount.
14. Energy Transfer's animation was increase to 2.67s and Total Focus stun magnitude was decreased to 3. Barrage's recharge/end was increased as well as the damage, the overall DPA for the attack is still poor.

I can't say much for stone melee.

DM was improved in various ways, the animations were increased a littled but this had more to do with standardization of animations and not a nerf. Siphon Life is now a great attack and should be part of any attack chain. Midnight Grasp's damage is now front loaded with some minor DoT. I think Soul Drain was buffed too, I believe it receives a higher damage buff with less enemies then before but I don't know the specifics.
15. [ QUOTE ]

Is Touch of Fear worth taking?

[/ QUOTE ]

It will depend on your playstyle, but on my Dm/Regen Scrapper I dropped it and haven't missed it since. It only slowed down my attack chain.

[ QUOTE ]

Also, I plan on using just SO's until I hit the early 40's or so, is it better to slot for defense or resists in my defense set?

[/ QUOTE ]

I use SO's until 27, then I slot level 30 Common IOs and strategize my Set IO build. That way when I get a drop, I already know if I should keep it or sell it.

WP is a mix of def, resis and hp/sec. You should begin by 3 slotting armors (mind over body, indomitable will and hightened senses) with 2 def or resis (depending on the power) and 1 end red. Later add a 4th slot (mid-late 30s) and place another def or resis.

High Pain Threshold should get 3 Heal IOs right away and then 1-2 resis as you level up.

[ QUOTE ]

How should I slot RttC?

[/ QUOTE ]

Since your primary is DM, you can slot additional -tohit in RttC for some additional mitigation. Get 6 slots here ASAP and try a mish-mash of SOs/IOs. Heal enhancements are the most important, followed by end red and -tohit. I would try 3 heal, 1-2 end red and 1-2 -tohit debuffs for SOs/Common IOs.

[ QUOTE ]

BTW, Siphon Life is effing awesome!

[/ QUOTE ]

Hell ya it is!

Guys? You REALLY just do NOT get it. ANY of it.

Suffice it to say if the changes make more happy then the changes accomplished their goal. After all? If you don't know what you missed out on then it really doesnt't matter. Does it?

[/ QUOTE ]

How about you explain yourself/position without the vitrol and adolecent insults?
18. It seems you are being obtuse to what others are saying. They aren't telling them to play as they do, but rather "take some time and level outside AE to check out all the wonders this game has to offer."

If you can't see the difference then you are being subjective and aren't looking for a discussion.
