But to answer your question, yes, I find violence an appropriate response to another man acting like a bad human. Men respond properly to violence. That and spreading our seed is our evolutionary purpose. I let the authorities or my wife handle a woman being an idiot, because I find violence against women appalling, and I'll allow parents to handle their children as I feel the same about violence toward children as I do women. (I can't WAIT until my son is a man. )

But some moron starts spewing filth in my face? Oh yea, he'll be eating asphalt. If he turns out to be bigger, stronger and faster than me and kicks the crap out of me? Doesn't matter. I did what was right.
Can't say I'm surprised and I think it's terrible. If the person resorts to physical assault, then I'm all for "defending" myself/family.

But when someone is tossing verbal opinions about myself/family, who cares? Why do you feel the need to "protect" your family from some low-life's opinion?

We don't have that option here.

Course, the flip side is that in real life, no one ever speaks to me as they feel they can here. Ever. I wonder why that is....
I find physical violence of name-calling to be childish and appalling. You are really going to punch someone in the face because they called you a racial slur? That's funny.

I'm going to call your bluff and say ********.
  3. "key job" sounds dirty.
  4. I read someone with quickness, swift, sprint and ninja run had about 56 mph run speed. Not bad considering their SS had them at 86 mph.

A better question, one of personal character: does your 75% fun outweigh any annoyance the rest of the team feels?
I'm not really concerned with how my KB affects the teams mitigation. When I use KB, I use it effectively and without annoyance. I KNOW it's effective and not burdensome.

When I solo, I do "just let it fly." However, on teams I'm considerate towards the 7 other players and I try to minmize the KB while still obtaining effective mitigation from the KB. It's not mutually exclusive. I can have my way and not be a nuisance.

    Fixed.

Please provide your evidence to support your claim. I have used Explosive Blast and Energy Torrent quite a few times to help mitigate incoming fire from a second group or an ambush. Claiming otherwise is dishonest at the very least.

You may not have intended to imply this, but if someone doesn't have hover on their Energy Blaster, that doesn't make them an unintelligent player.

Kinda why I said "I" took Hover and not "everyone should take Hover."

It's not that simple. To me, I love KB because I find it fun AND useful. If I were to break it down, I'd say...75% fun and 25% mitigation.

I get your fun is max exp/min, but mine is not. Your playstyle does not supersede anyone elses, and vice versa. I am an intelligent player which is why I use Hover on my Energy blaster or why I find corners/walls before I use powers like Shockwave on my Claws Brute.

Speaking of which, has you ever use SW on a claws brute? That's almost as fun as Power Thrust!

Blah, that's my last post about this.

Read Uber's post Aura. It's obvious you don't understand. I don't really care to convince you either.

The rep system helped curbed my previous posting habits. I don't care if you believe it or even understand why.

Most times posters would just report my posts or start a flame war. There was RARELY someone calm enough to point out why my post was in poor taste. I have many comments in my CP from people that state calmly/rationally why my post was negative. And in most cases, they are right.

  12. I guess, but I hope it doesn't lower the merits for those that dislike speed runs.

Uh oh. I think we've found a new scapegoat since farmers aren't so ebil anymore. Speed TFers are eeeeeeeebil!

By the way, 29 mins for the ITF is the fastest team I've been on, and 27 mins for the LGTF.

The leader also gets to invite whomever they choose, whatever ATs, dictate the speed and choose their own missions for their merits.

    That's enough.

Yes it has. I'm actually a lot nicer and more helpful than ever. It has nothign to do with the little red dots but more to do with how poorly I was representing myself to the community. Some of the comments people left helped me realized I wasn't being a helpful poster and since I like the boards and this game, I decided to change my behavior from full time a$$hat to part time a$$hat.
  15. I was able to grab the name Iron Puma with the release of Issue 16, on Freedom, along with Captain Fireside and St. Cloud (no, I'm not egotistical...I just love how very awesome I am).
  16. I've been playing a Cold/Ice defender since it was proliferated to Defenders many moons ago and I've always slotted an Achille's Heel -Resistance Proc in Infrigidate and Sleet. I always assume this was beneficial to the overall effectiveness of the two powers since the other 5 slots are devoted to acc, recharge, end, slow, -def, etc. (depending on the power). For example, I have Sleet slotted with Dam/Rech, Dam/Rech, Dam/Rech, -Def/Rech, -Def/End and the -Resis Proc. I'm starting to wonder if my slotting is sub optimal.

    So, I want to know...

1). How effective is this proc in Infrigidate and Sleet?

2). Would a damage proc be an effective addition as well?

3). How do you slot these two powers?

    Thanks in advance!

I'm of the opinion that when the same subject keeps coming over, and over, and over... by many different people, then there's likely a problem that *should* be looked at.

So many threads and posts about KB... Why?
    There are a couple reasons:

    1. KB is the most obvious secondary effect in this game. If someone is using their KB poorly it's far more noticable than a -acc or -def from dark blast and rad blast respectively.

    2. It's the only secondary effect that makes the "Herd to here, let loose AoEs, repeat" crowd have to rethink their strategy.

    3. Because people complain about anything.

Lastly, the only reason this gets brought up again and again is because people refuse to let other players enjoy the game the way their powers were designed or the way they find most fun. If you have a problem with a player using KB then offer some support or ask them to control their powers a bit better. If you (general you) are too arrogant to be bothered, then kick them from your team and be done with it already.
  18. I figured it add something to do with my computer. Is there a way to have the Market load less info at first and then I can gradually remove filters or something?

    I hope that makes sense.
  19. Hi all,

Does anyone else get disconnected when they access the market? It's not 100% but it does happen enough to be a burden. Does anyone have a work around that might help?

    Thanks in advance.
  20. I love KB. LOVE IT. It's gives me great entertainment to line up 10 Longbow and send them flying 15 feet with Shockwave on my Claws/Inv Brute. Oh noes, my poors invincibility isn't saturated! Who cares...all the mobs are on their back for 2-3 seconds and a nice "F" and Spin finishes them off.

On a lower note, I tend to not team with some of my more KBish characters because I'd rather not have to defend my use of KB as a mitigation tool when playing ingame. Some people's "fun" is leveling at max speed, and others people's fun is Power Thrusting a Hellion 200 yards.

Santa Cat has marked you down as Naughty, and since he's already out of coal...you'll be getting a nice surprised from the litter box.

    Fear Santa Cat!!

    <the above is just a joke>
  22. I have a 33 Claws/INV brute and after slotting level 35 common IOs his survivability and endurance usage was much more managable.

I have some thoughts, in no particular order.

    1. What INV powers do you have? How are they slotted? Resist Energies will offer some end drain resistance and I respecced into this at 32. It seems to help a bit against Mu, etc.

    2. When I hit 32, I dropped Eviscerate for Shockwave. It does do alot of knockback which takes critters out of Invincibility but I monitor my defense and with all the friggin -def being slung around by nearly every mob at this level (namely LB), it doesn't seem to matter. Plus, I just position the mob against a wall or use Shockwave as a finishing attack.

    3. I have all my attacks slotted with 2 ACC, 1 END RED, 1 DAM (except follow-up which as a Rech Red instead of damage), and my endurance is fine unless I take on two mobs. I am currently running at -1/x6.
  23. I agree with you al by the way but I tend to dislike the -speed power of the Equalizers far more for some reason. I don't really find the -tohit very damaging for some reason, perhaps because I'm running in spider webs and by the time I get to the next critter or Ghost, the debuff has worn off.

As for the -def...the only defensive villain of mine that come across the Ghosts is my /SR Brute and he never had much of an issue with the -def portion. My /INV Brute might have more an issue, but I'll find out soon enough.
