  1. This is like walking into the Nobel Literature Prize Committee meeting and asking if they've read any good vampire books lately.

There's a red-side story arc in which the next to last mission has a map that's like a quarter of the entire St. Martial zone, not even having SuperSpeed made that palatable.
  3. Stalkers benefit greatly from Sweep, as it's a result from using the A-Strike and one other attack, iirc. If they all hit and the foes around you get swept, that deflects (or at least delays) the sudden and often painful "oh noes, a stalker in our midst!" alphas.

If you do, i HIGHLY recommend using a bind system for pet control. Once learned, it really smooths out the play experience. I prefer the numpad binds Sandolphan put together; you can find them here: http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showthread.php?t=117256

As for what primary/secondary, thugs or bots/traps or dark are all reliably tested and rate high on the butt-kickery meter.
Don't let the bind stuff scare you off MMs!

I'm sure it does add a measure of extra refined control to the whole thing, but you can play just fine with the three basic command buttons and perhaps a couple of others (I use an ATTACK+GOTO [good for blocking doors if you have to run away] and another set to BODYGUARD). I've run a Bots/Dark and Bots/Storm up to their mid 40s this way (before altitis claimed them) and they felt ridiculously easy, virtual Tasmanian Devils of mayhem.

It was reminding me of the cut-up section of Towers Open Fire by William Burroughs and Anthony Balch. It's on YouTube if you care to look for it, but be warned it was a few dirty words in it.

Thanks for sharing this with us, sorry to hear about your friend though.
  6. I'd like to second the nomination of Drakule vs. The Werewolf Bikers From Hell #340316 by @LaserJesus. It's a funny series of arcs that only got better as they went along.

I felt at first I might not be qualified to nominate anything as I don't play AE arcs half as often as I feel I should to consider myself 'knowledgeable' - I don't have the breadth of experience with them all that many others here do. Thinking about it though, I realized this was one series of arcs that I actually bothered to search out one after another and one of the few that is actually still stuck in my mind from back when I had time to play with the MA super team on Triumph.

Seems like reason enough to speak up for it, right?
  7. "...And you look like one too!"

Happy birthday to one of the bright lights on these forums (not that we don't have a number of them, mind you, just sayin' :-)
  8. Way to go! It's nice to see good work recognized.

    5 Years later...

I've told this story before, but here goes one more time.

I haven't read comics in years, and always disliked video games - terrible waste of time! Then one day my roomie, who was a seriously avid gamer, came home with CoH and I kept looking over his shoulder while he played it, "say, that looks sort of... fun..."

Still here 3 years later. :P
  10. I've PUGed on Freedom since I started this game so I may have teamed with her at one time or another. Even if I never did, I still hope she gets well asap!

Be sure and brush for at least two minutes and then use the mouthwash of your choice and you should avoid the plaque.
  12. I got two responses, neither of which explicitly said the arc had been played, but I'm guessing the second one was that one.

    AE Template

Dunno if this will help, but I remember that back when AE was first introduced, someone created such a doc and posted a link for it on the boards, but I dunno who that was or if it's still available.

    Event Fatigue

Due to the late/early hours I game, I can't accurately tell you the last time I saw a Rikti invasion, a banner event or zombies; I think I saw some banners back in July perhaps? Therefore, if you make these things happen less, my chances of ever seeing anything drop to pretty much zero with a capital fat chance buster.

As I'm sure there are other players in my shoes, I think limiting them is a bad idea. And as has probably been pointed out by now, there are a;ways new players who may not have reached event fatigue yet, so why not give them what we all got when we first started?
  15. I am shocked to see my arc on that list! I got pretty burned out on creating AE missions and it was really off my radar. Don't me wrong, I still have ideas I want to do sometime (one of which "feels imminent" is some bizarre way...), but since my burn out, I've found I've really been enjoying just playing the game again. Maybe I was creating AE arcs as a way to get away from burn-out playing the game???

Now I feel guilty for not spending more time in the AE playing other people's missions. I'll try and get to that after Halloween's over, as by then my latest toon project (a troller) should be mature enough to handle it.

Thanks for the nomination, maybe that'll get me kick-started back into creating for the AE.
  16. Mine's not on that list either, although the only notification I posted about it being up for consideration was in the thread I have for it... which.. apparently few people read. o.o

Anyways, it's the last arc mentioned in my sig and it's been updated to cover some feedback I got on it after I updated the thread, so it should be good to go.

I'm thinking of putting the smaller-sized bat wings on a toon with super jump... that might work, right? Not the big monster demon wings though.
  18. So some of us will buy it and some won't, same ol' thread.

Since tossing in one's opinion seems to matter here I'm on the fence, but leaning towards doing it, depending on the price. Ten bucks really ain't nothin'...
  19. Nearly pointless to stick my head in here now as there's so much great advice (and this was sort of mentioned as well), but one thing I read ages ago about Doms (which are a great class btw): never lead off with an attack, you always lead off with a control power such as a hold, confuse, etc.

    Good luck with the game
  20. If you only need three of the ten slots, you could slide the empty section of the tray under another window maybe.

In that vein, when running a lowbie that's not worth actually buying Enhancers for yet (lolTOs), the same code with be sure to drop ones that your toon can't use. Tanker? Have a Confuse TO. Dom? You get a Taunt TO.

This also comes into affect when you first break the level barrier for DOs and SOs (and probably IOs as well).

It's funny, because I never bother hunting them down during Halloween - probably because I'm not a badger and they're only temporary - and yet I would buy such a thing in a heartbeat.
  23. This thread is making me want to dust off my level 47 Grav/Thorns Dom and go hit Mercy. Repeatedly.

Currently more than that, which is crazy. I've been wondering about the EULA on this myself... and thinking the devs should jump on this gold mine opportunity themselves - no, not, meaning they pocket a little extra outside the game, but offer players a chance to own one permanently for, say 10 bucks a shot, account wide. I'm sure it's been suggested before.
  25. Mender stuff, Clockwork... aaaannnd... I dunno, Snakes and CoT Ghosts! I'm serious about those last ones too. Any attack that used the legs somehow can be ported into an already-coded punch attack of one sort or another (there must be a few of them to choose from, right?) or something much like that - it'd totally be worth it to be able to choose "snake" or "whisp" for the Lower Body option.

I know it won't probably happen though, but there it is, I've said it.
