He was important enough to add to the tutorial in the first place. I have confidence in the Dev team that he will be around, somewhere.

Thanks, Forbin.
See, that's what I get for skimming a bunch of posts and trying to translate it all. -
I don't think we know with certainty, yet.
They have said that paid subscriptiosn will earn Paragon Points to spend. Presumably that spend will be able to go towards what were previously vet rewards, and maybe some other similar options, and likely a variety of other things beyond any supposition I can make.
It will be interesting to see how it is structured. -
What color is the sky in your world?
Quote:Like I tell anyone that considers rolling a Tanker... "Make a Brute. They're like Tankers... but fun!"- "Make a Dominator. They're like Controllers... but fun!"
- "Make a Scrapper. They're like Brutes... but fun!"
- "Make a Corruptor. They're like Blasters... but fun!"

Very likely some testing going on I'd expect with I20.5 and I21 on the horizon.
Are there big new games out recently?
Probably a fair bit of that going on, yep.
I'd lean more towards:- In instances
- Trials, trials, and more trials
- hide and seek event to trigger more "game is dying" threads

The movie looks good.
(However, another in a long string of trailers that pretty much just tell the entire story in 2 minutes... what happened to the tease?) -
Quote:I understood your point, and I hope I did not come back too strong in terms of response.Yeah, my suggestion was pretty mild--"maybe keep in mind that "powerful" powers should at least be solid and iconic sets should have decent synergy as opposed to none"--and people started talking about changing basic game mechanics and their freedoms being taken away.
I wasn't crying doom or for a game overhaul, just maybe some conceptual consideration. Or not--they're not gonna change it based on this thread, so no one has to worry :P. You're safe.
I have not ever missed or noted any particular syngery gap with perceived iconic powers. And I am actually pretty happy that the design was not specifically set up that way.
But the concept is logical, and I get the thought behind it. -
Quote:Going to add to the chorus of "I think you missed the part about an entire new Praetorian zone in I21!"It seems like the only new Praetoria related content we see is in the end game trials. So Praetoria goes from being 1-20 content then all of a sudden level 50 content. I wish that the Praetoria we have now was level 35-40+ content that then smoothly transitions in to the end game stuff.

Quote:Excellent rationale upon which to make this suggestion.I strongly recommend another round of proliferation to be added to I21. I21 is going to bring new starter experiences with the GC tutorial, AP and MI revamps of the zones and contacts. There'll also be a new low level sewer trial. That's incentive for a lot of folks to start new characters to check it out. However, the only new set to ice the cake is Time Manipulation. So rather than having everyone running around with a TM/ defender, or /TM cor, MM, controller, please have another round of power set proliferation to lend more variety.

Quote:Yes, yes, it is exactly the point! Now, someone will say "but those other sets are perfectly playable due to difficulty control" and "well, that just encourages more unusual heroes", but is that the point in a classic superhero MMORPG?
I am going to make my hero my way. Give me a wide and diverse slection of powers combinations to mix and match, thank you very much.
I do not want to be some other recognized hero, or just like them, or bound by any one individual's concept of iconic or what they think is the proper homage structure. -

Congratulations...
...there should be some nice men in white jackets knocking on your door shortly. It's okay. Let them in. They are your friends. They will take good care of you... -
Lois and Clark? oh, no (but nearly everything about Supes makes me want to hurl....)
- Mary Jane and Peter Parker
- Bruce Wayne and Selina Kyle
- Prince Barin and Princess Aura was a nice inclusion by Forbin
- It's warped, and disturbing but I like Joker and Harley Quinn too, Shark

Quote:OK, good to hear. And Vancouver should have been called on those as well. I'm not saying "stick it to the Bruins only." I'm saying that the rules should be enforced, no matter who is at fault.
My argument would be, given that the calls (or non-calls) were relatively balanced, skill should have had the opportunity. This year, in this series, Boston got it. I like Vancouver's core. They'll get another shot. -
Quote:OK, so that's why it isn't the movie you (or Timms) wanted, but doesn't actually say anything about it being a bad movie...No, no, no! This animated film was an embarrassment! It's an example of where the studio overrided the creative talent to disastrous effect! And, the plot is ripped off--third hand!
Bruce Timms was quoted in an interview as explaining that he pitched a different story idea to the studio for an animated theatrical feature, one where all of Batman's rogues gallery foes meet up and plot to destroy Batman together. (This story was later used by Timms for an episode of the animated TV series.) But, the studio overrided Timms in favor of the Phantasm story.
Trouble is, the Phantasm story is sorta/kinda a ripoff of Frank Miller's Electra storyline from Daredevil comics, which, in turn, was Miller's "homage" to the Sand Saref storyline from Wil Eisner's The Spirit comics.
In any event, this animated feature film is not one of the 10 best superhero movies. Although, it is nice to acknowledge Timms' body of work and the voice acting of Kevin Conroy. I just feel this project missed the mark, probably due to studio interference/scheduling demands.
edit: ok, you didn't say bad... but heavily implied unworthy. -
Quote:*shrug* again, Vancouver was also active after the whistle and throwing some pretty dirty hits themselves between whistles. They also have a rep around the league that is far from than positive on those very points. It was probably pretty balanced on whole.I would actually agree with that. My point is that had the refs did what they were actually paid to do, in a consistent manner, there wouldn't have been as many injuries and the games would have been decided on skill.
The bad calls only serve to confuse the players, on all teams, and fans as to what should and should not be called. Skill should decide games, not how much you can get away with because the refs aren't enforcing the rules. -
Don't know what I think of this.
Blade, Superman II, and Rocketeer don't belong and are right out. It would take a lot more thought to determine replacements and re-order the list... -
Quote:I recognize that calls against the Bs were missed... but they were also missed against Canucks and the announcers' reaction was equally "What the <censored>?". As it stands, it was still the most penalized finals in history, and there were tons of powerplays handed out that just did not get cashed in.Chara and Thomas both, in front of the refs, had their sticks in the face of Canucks players. It is like the refs forgot that rule 60 existed. Even the commentators of the game were going "What the <censored>?" At that point the credibility of the officiating goes out the window.
so, yeah, this:
Quote:Loungo wasn't the only problem for the Canucks, just the most visible. Injuries (probably the greatest problem), turnovers, players out of position, and no follow-ups were a large part of the losses.
Turnovers were rough too. Vancouver's passing/puck movement never seemed to get sharp tape-to-tape and stay that way for sustained minutes. And I think that was a solid plus for Boston's play - the puck generally went where they wanted it when they wanted it. -
Quote:Zackly. If CoH did this, the Devs would just be adding in farms with every issue.
Issue 22: Farmville
Issue 23: Farmtown
Issue 24: Farmopolis
Issue 25: We're out of Farm jokes
Issue 26: Harvest time!
Issue 27: Up with the cows
Issue 28: Someone shut up the rooster
edit: In relation to the OP, the idea is intriguing in terms of supplemental design input. I am not sure how the result would apply cross game... unless you had to recollect info for a particular game you would want to model. And then again... you need a platform or structure to test first... so it is, to my mind, not directly useful at present. -

One of the more detailed discussions I've read... that ends with a "skip it" recommendation. I was never a GL fan, but until a month or two ago this was on my list to see in theater. The trailers and these reviews have dropped it to rental status.
