  1. That's what it says in Compatibility. If it wasn't actually something, I don't know how dropping to SP 2 would have solved anything for me.
  2. I didn't get any Infinitians or CoH'ers of any kind to take it, so I had to open up the league to some other online acquaintances.

No bother, I just can't tell all of my opponents that "I'm going to go all Nova on your team."

    Right on.

But still. Good comics that never done no wrong are hurting!

If you see the movie again, look for it. I think it's built for that ending. I wonder if they had any last-minute re-shoots to get the change.

I would have preferred the Knives ending, or even a Kim Pine one if the movie had managed to build up her character any more than they did. Like Gideon says, she (Kim) was the one who was "there for him all along."

The Ramonas of the world will always be fleeting. But I guess that's the point. Scott Pilgrim is kind of the same way and they're supposed to be growing out of the capriciousness of youth together.

The book really nailed it. I wish I could find the scene online because I know I'm not going to be able to do this justice, but I'll try.

Ramona disappears at the end of Book 5 and it's a really dramatic, sudden thing. In the movie this is when she returns to Gideon, and it's alluded to be the same in the book. However, one of the final scenes is Ramona says, "Do you really want to know where I've been?"

Everyone says yes. (Pardon my paraphrasing).

"I went and stayed with my uncle for a few days. I planned on just, you know, finding myself, but I ended up playing Nintendo and sleeping too much and kind of lost track of time."

Supporting characters' faces fall and they groan, and Kim mutters, "You two really do deserve each other."

The movie was missing that scene. A scene that made it quite clear that they actually related to one another outside of Scott's infatuation.
  5. Because that's how one man makes measurable change?

Or... that's how one man deprives himself of entertainment?

    Dammit.
  7. Only in the minor details. The main conclusion is the same.

However, in an earlier script of the movie, Scott ends up with Knives.

Ditto. I'm guessing it's him posting after clawing his own eyes out, but maybe not.

Edit: I was right then. Damn you, BeerMan!
  9. Unfortunately our draft was this past Saturday. This was posted quite a while back and recently bumped back to the forefront.
  10. Does anyone have suggestions to get the most Def/Regen/Recov bonuses out of IOs for Fire? There has to be a way to make the thing survivable. At the point I'm at, it really isn't.
  11. Is this a known issue since Windows 7 released?

Do you have a suggestion on which work-a-round (the final suggestion seems to be the least desireable) actually changes the least? I'm worried not using Service Pack 3 for other aspects isn't preferable.

I've noticed the color scheme error message, so you're definitely right about that. Are there any drawbacks to the second (your first) suggestion?

    Perfect Endings

I can't think of any... Hmm...

    Maybe...

Arrested Development had to end earlier than the show and I were ready to say goodbye, but I think they tied everything up nicely with it.

The Batman Begins ending was great.
  13. I don't care how ya do it, just do it.

I'm still not ready to believe this will ever happen.
  14. Aren't you then limited by the chat window size, only allowing a portion of the text to be pasted?
  15. There are many new things to see in Praetoria, especially for a player who has been around since the first few months of the game and feels like he has seen it all. I've enjoyed going through as many contacts as possible, first as a sort of Loyalist/Resistance-sympathizer (flip-flopped a lot), and then currently as pure resistance.

I've mostly soloed, because I didn't like the idea of slowing down a team while I read each and every story clue and mission [de]briefing. However, there have been a few times where I have built up a team in anticipation of a difficult mission. Such a time arose in the "Noble Savage" story arc...

To cut out the whining, the tears and the frustration, and to make a long story short: If it isn't your mission, don't click through the NPC-specific, one-time dialogue! Why would you need to do that!? Everytime someone has done it, they've just clicked through it to get it out of the way, not worrying about if someone on the team actually wants to read it!

This has happened a few times now (and I've only teamed a few times, so I think it's at 100% currently) where I click to talk to the NPC, reading his/her responses and my own, and by the time I get to the second dialogue option, the window closes because someone has just raced through it to bring up the "Mission Complete!" text quicker.

I was with a friend in that mission who had the story arc open as well, so I made him replay to that final mission and let me talk to him completely this time, but unfortunately he had made slightly different choices and the mission had a different outcome. So I still have no idea why the guy suddenly attacked me because I brought his badge from his partner.

So! In conclusion! If the devs could make it where the mission-specific contacts say, "I need to speak with your team leader," or instead, just disregard the one-time dialogue options, I would appreciate it. Because while I'm asking here for people to respect the studious mission holder, I am realistic enough to know that simply won't happen in an MMO. There is not going to be this sudden sea-change where player's main propelling force is NOT to get the XPz as quickly as possible.
  16. I just bought a new computer.

Due to my old computer, I'm used to very long load times, so my habit is to tab out of the game and open another window to occupy my time with, then going back to the game 30 secs - 1 min later.

Well on this new computer, the game "freezes" each time I do that. Well, the graphics do, at least. It's not a freeze in any sense I've seen before - I can still type and hear myself moving, but the screen doesn't refresh. Any idea what the problem is?

Edit: okay, I talked to a friend who says that it's a Windows 7 issue. I went to Properties of the game and Compatibility, and put it on Service Pack 2. Then I restarted, and that seems to have fixed the problem.

I'm still wondering why it does that on Service Pack 3, and what I am losing by switching to Service Pack 2. So any input is valued. Thanks.
  17. I've played a Spine/Invuln Scrapper to 50 and a Fire/Energy Tanker to 50 back in the day.

Currently I have a level 28 Spine/Fire which I am finding to be not nearly as much fun as I remember having with either other character (both pre-Global Defense, ED, etc). As a matter of fact, I died four times in a row last night to some Arachnos.

The think is, the combination oozes potential, but you have to get into the 40s before it reaches that potential.

I think I'm going to transfer as much money as I can afford to him and go shopping. I need some +Def, Res, Reg and Recov to make the build more bearable.

Plus, I'll have to add Boxing/Tough/Weave at some point, but as is, I only have three attacks (lunge, Impale, Ripper), so Throw Spines must be gotten immediately, as will Burn and Fiery Embrace.

It seems to be a really tight build, almost unbearably so. But I think if you go through the exercise, it pays off in the end.
  18. I attempted to make an AE mission about two years ago before my account lapsed. I never got through it...

So... I don't know what limitations there are. But still; make it happen, Marcian!

Good point on the sword. Give me a sec on that. Ooh! What if he was dual blades...?

(Easter Egg: The way Wallace describes Scott's death in my proposed dialogue is the same way the narrator tells Ness he died in Earthbound. Chaos Theater and all that. )
Maybe the Sword of Love as Katana. The sword of self-respect as Broadsword. Then he goes all dual-wield crazy with both.

    AWESOME on the EarthBound tie-in.

    I'm @ChrisMoses in-game. Make sure I know as soon as it's ready!
  20. Oh, Marcian!

All exil Exes are Elite Bosses.

Have Ramona, Stephen Still, Kim Pine, Young Neil and Knives Chau fight alongside you at points.

Non-Ex bosses: Nega Scott, Mr. Chau, Julie Powers (Sonic attacks, naturally), The Clash of Demonhead (cyborg-armed drummer, Envy Adams, then a boss version of Todd Ingram who uses Revive on himseelf and becomes an EB), Crash and the Boys (Crash is a boss, the Boys are minions), Little and Giant Robots as bosses leading up to the Twins fight...

Oh my god. make this, quick!
  21. No one joined. I blame you, House.

The books sold so well it is now an ongoing series. The writing is really good and so is the art. They are going for more of an adult feel for the series, the writing is something you would expect from Marvel or DC with some humor in it.

The series takes place a year and a half after the series ended. St. Carnard no longer needs Darkwing Duck but we soon discover that is part of a neferous plot by one of his enemies and you see all the fan favorites from the series.

Need to plug this. I am having a lot of fun reading this and one of the best comics I read all year.
The first issue didn't hook me, but it has been years since I've seen the TV show. Maybe another chance is in order.

You're bad at asking for help, EDAR.
