  1. My suggestions would be these:

    Defense - especially S/L
HP - between HPT and bonus HP, you can end with a ton
Recharge - to help your offense

I would say any APP/PPP that gives you a TAoE. I like ones with a nice ST ranged attack, too (Fblast/Fball, Gloom/DOblit, MLightning/BLightning, etc.).
  2. Pretty good discussion on a similar topic here:
    http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showthread.php?t=244755

I like to be able to exemplar and keep set bonuses, and I like to have bonuses as I level.

I tend to target one of three levels for my set IOs: 27, 33, 37. This lets me slot them early, use them all the way up, and still be able to exemplar down to 24, 30, or 34, respectively, without losing bonuses.

Better? I think so too - it even shaves 3M+ off the SO build for the same
    relative performance.

Just a question if you feel like adding it up.

What if you continued to use L25/L30 of the most frequently used recipes (acc, dmg, end, rchg) and got them memorized, instead of moving up to 35s/40s.

Would that save you enough money to go to level L45s in everything at 42+ and still be cost competitive with SOs?

PowerSink is auto-hit for all classes, including Brutes.

The Taunt effect of PS for Brutes has a to-hit check against high mobs (Raid mobs?) at -20%.
  5. You need to read up on Enhancement Diversification. Here is the link:

    http://paragonwiki.com/wiki/Enhancement_Diversification

The basic point is you shouldn't slot anything with more than 3 SOs, because slots 4, 5, and 6 give you very minimal gain, wasting slots.

All those 6 x resistance powers are eating up slots you could put to better use elsewhere. Especially Grounded, which has a fairly small base value anyway.

With SOs, suggested slotting would typically be...

    Toggles - 1 End, 3 Resist
Passive (grounded) - 1 Resist (3 at most)
    Attacks - 1 Acc 3 Damage 1 End 1 Recharge
    Build Up - 1 to 3 Recharge
    Energize - 3 Heal 1 to 3 Recharge
    PSink - 3 EndMod 3 Recharge

If you go with standard IOs instead of SOs, the recommended slotting would remain the same, in general. If you go with set IOs (even frankenslotting), then things would change a bit.
  6. I haven't seen it yet this year, either. Best I recall, the last one was during the Winter event timeframe, so it could still come around.

edit: Hrm, or maybe the last one was during the Loyalty period. Details are foggy this morning in my head.

I can't say I'm a fan of your attack slotting, or rather, the lack of it in SB and CS. But, I'll leave that alone.

The comment above jumped out at me, and after looking, I feel obliged to point out that those numbers are only accurate just over 1/3 of the time. In particular, you had SoW checked and it can only be up 120 seconds every 300 seconds.
  8. Once I19 goes live and Fitness becomes inherent, if you pick up the Concealment pool and get Stealth and Invis, you can fit two more LotGs.

    That's +15% more recharge.

Won't just help me if it happens. Lotta people have this build, and I'll put the finished build up. Gave a build as a guideline to see if anyone could figure out something I didn't. Also, I haven't spent alot of time on it. Although I am as soon as I finish this post.

Did you even bother to click on his link? It's a Mids build with 8ish% more recharge than you achieved and softcap S/L without a PvP +3Def.

You could look at it and maybe get some ideas on how to get closer to the 183.

Way to ask for help and then spit in the eye of those who try to help you.
  10. Since Dechs hasn't happened by, here is the post where he posted his Dark/Fire build:

    I'm shield/stone level 50, running +0/x8

A couple of the Wardens have some nasty debuffs. One has two Rad debuffs (lingering radiation, enervating field) and he is the most likely candidate. All his attacks also have -Def.

Nullifier Lts. (40+) drop that hideous AoE (wubba-wubba-wubba noise) Sonic resistance debuff. One is huge, two is crippling to Resists.

Several of the minions have -Def attacks, and so a few lucky hits could cause a cascade failure.
  12. Also, remember that we'll be getting a Freespec with Issue 19 either this coming Tuesday, or the Tuesday after Thanksgiving.

So, you won't need to reroll for lacking a Respec, as you're about to get one! And, you'll get Health and Fitness as inherents and get 2 extra power picks (as you have swift/hurdle already).

Also, you should read this: http://paragonwiki.com/wiki/Enhancement_Diversification

The basic point, don't slot more than 3 of any SOs into any given power. The 4th, 5th, and 6th are basically wasted.

Now, for me, you have WAY to little offense. But, I tend to require my character be able to solo efficiently.

As the previous poster noted, get Mids. It is awesome.

You can generate one per 4 days thanks to HVMerits. Just speed the 5 tips a day on +0/x1, and only kill the stuff you have to. Doesn't take long per day, so it's not too annoying, especially if you don't make yourself feel like you HAVE to do it on any given day.

Having to choose 3 powers with just minimal slotting to be beneficial prior to lvl 30 wont be easy.

One thing to consider with alternate low level builds is using 3-slotted L10 Triumphant Insults in powers you don't have access to (L30-35+) for 1.875% S/L Defense that will exemplar down to Level 7. Combined with a L10 Steadfast +3Def, it can add up.
  15. How will I alpha?

    To start: 33% Recharge / 33% Heal

    Goal: 45% Recharge / 33% Heal / +1 LS [i20]

The stun portion is useless to me, but I don't care.

    Yup.
  17. APP/PPP - 10
    Pool - 4
    HEAT/VEAT - 6

I don't change my main's Fire primary colors because I can't match my FBlast/FBall APP to them. I would love to be able to.

I shelved my VEAT/Fortunata because of the mismatch of animations/colors, among other reasons. I do agree that HEATs should be on a psuedo-limited color pallette. That's been done already (stone, etc.), so it should work.

Now, having voted a high number for APPs, I will note that I don't think we'll get APP modding without Pool modding. APPs are, after all, effectively just an extra, high level pool.
  18. Longstanding issue that I have bugged in the past, and bugged in game again today...

Male haircut Ice. When you are under any kind of Stealth effect, there is a large gap between your head and your hair. It is quite disturbing. You can either look all the way through your head under your hair, or at other angles look down INTO your head.

You can have 5 LotG and 5 other 7.5s. If you are using the current Mids, it will reflect this for planning purposes.
  20. Congrats Savos! You just multiplied your net worth by 10!

Also, a big DOH!, I was so close before his last minute bid!
  21. 806 million

edit: Btw, the thread title made me think of the movie War Games.

    <computer voice> Would .. you .. like .. to .. play .. a .. game?
  22. You might want to give a barebones description of the concept. As is, it would be guesswork knowing what can change and what has to stay.

The concept for my Main has always been flying + teleport. I had to ditch teleport and just use fly in order to fit everything. I had to monkey-wrench Ouro portal + Tiki teleport and the like as my "teleportation" ability.

Now, I shall have Teleport (and Recall Friend to hold the WG Slow protection).

WOOHOO!!! I can have my uber-build and my teleport, too!

So, no, you weren't the only one.
