Quote:With SOs you are a couple of seconds off perma on 4 characters. My emp typically keeps it up on 6 (hasten and IOs).Empathy cannot reduce a significant portion of incoming damage. The only defense/resistance buff in the set is Fortitude which prevents a lot of damage on a few teammates but by no means the entire team.
Not an entire (full) team for sure but 50% (or more) is normal, and it can easily be the entire team is the team is 5-6 folks. -
Invincibility as well IIRC
I think it just hasn't floated to the top of the list.
The 'fast recharge' Target AOE sets (for nukes, rain of arrows, full auto) and these together would be a good addition. -

For Carnies hunts, my usual recourse is to drop it.

That particular IO is a 'global type'
The 7.5% bonus counts as a set bonus, so goes away if you exemplar down more than 3 levels below the level of the IO -
My son/son defender grabbed level 25 commons at 22. Most of those were still slotted when she hit 50.
That helped her build a decent sized bankroll despite being teamed most of the time. (which is not so good for drops_ -
Theres a little check circle at the bottom of the crafting screen when you have them available.
-
and of course, level 15 IOs are better than DOs and last until you do decide to replace em.

Quote:Outside of fire controllers this is certainly not a given. It used to be that Controllers were expected to be even more reliant on teams than Defenders since Controllers had no damage focus at all, so it's almost odd that you accept Controllers as having superior damage as a matter of course.
Last time (or maybe the time before) we had this debate I did the numbers for a ice controller versus a /ice defender.
The Defender easily came out ahead, even without factoring in the larger buffs from the primary. -
Quote:Now thats the judgment call isn't it ?
The point is, yes, defenders are doing well as support archetypes already. But we could make them better at their jobs (both on teams and solo) without tipping the scales to some level of uberness that's unfair to the game.
Right now, the Devs still view Defenders as the most balanced AT (Herocon comments). Any shift in their effectiveness is going to be under close scrutiny. -
There was a change such that at the level of the team is locked to the leaders level at the start of the TF. It came in after the difficulty slider was locked out.
This is (seemingly as it hasn't been confirmed) to prevent possible exploits. -
Quote:And Rad (AM) and Empathy (recover aura)2. The Powersets that have tools to help them with Endurance are Kinetics, Radiation, and Cold, probably the three most popular and successful Defender secondaries. People will still make Kinetic, Cold, and Rad toons even if Defenders have access to more Endurance help.
Three out of the four APP's also have end management tools. (power sink, conserve power and dark consumption_ -
I'll give 2 examples.
On my mind dom solo, who is heavily single target a sleep is as good as a hold if I just want someone not attack me.
Sleep one, hold another and attack the 3rd.
The classic use of sleep redside is to have a mind dom AOE sleep (it is aggro less) the Freedom Phalanx. They have no super resistance to it. then single target pull them one at a time, and enjoy an easy ride to LRSF sucess. -
Frostworks from a corruptor cast on you.
Characters who can get the the +HP on their own are actually not that common, and usually have Dull Pain (or a similar power) -
Well as technically I'm leaving threads are against the forum rules, I don't think it will happen.
Nicely phrased ones, especially for folks deploying, tend to get erm 'overlooked' by the mods. *wink* -
Quote:Directly trying to kill off is maybe a little strong. Pulling people off the team and putting it into barely getting-by mode is a historical fact (the Freem-15). Business is business and I am sure they were fulfilling the letter of their agreement. (but I doubt the spirit of it)That is a pretty serious allegation. Do you have any direct proof showing that Cryptic was actively attempting to kill CoH? NCSoft would probably sue the pants off of Jack/Cryptic if there was any such evidence.
Ontop of that jointly developing with a different 3rd party, an MMO in the exact same genre is certainly what I would consider an unethical business practice.
Cryptic then getting involved in the unethical recruitment attempts for CO, and an apology for that set of actions which was an apology not worth it own weight in electrons. -
Minion
Salvage 8% base drop rate and 1 in 28 is rare , rounding out to 350 minions per rare salvage
Recipe 2.667% drop rate and 1 in 41 is rare, rounding to 1537 minions per rare recipe
Boss
salvage 25% base drop rate, and 1 in 28, rounding out to 112 bosses per rare salvage
recipe 8% drop rate, 1 in 41 is rares, rounding to 512 bosses per rare recipe.
HOWEVER: This ignores Pool B (mission completes) and Pool C (Merit rolls) and the fact that some recipes require more than 1 rare salvage.
You really should be seeing more rare salvage than rare recipes. -
Quote:I meant specifically the damage nuke (ie the nuke).Actually, the Bio nuke is fantastic for soloing a single hard target. It lasts 5 minutes and buffs your damage and regen quite a lot. I've used it to solo AVs a few times on characters that weren't otherwise up to it. Similarly, it's an immense buff to something like a Shivan.
Bio and Chemical are great -

I have started copying my stalker across. He has rather a lot (about 1000 on hand IIRC)
Since my hard drive went boom I don't have a current test server installation. I'll see how long it takes to patch.
I'll start on the 10-14 as soon as that happens
(copy seems slow today). Test is patched and he still hasn't made it accross once.
<edit>
He has 778 I just did 10 rolls the other night from his merits. -
Not only at night any more. There are daytime spawns due to the Numina TF issue.
(In Parking garage and in the NE corner are two good spots) -
The nuke is kinda of underwhelming against a single hard target.
Though 8 of them together after 8 bios and 8 chem burns are downright nasty against the Freedom Phalanx in the LRSF. -

Quote:Are your contact details upto date ?now can you actually get someone to fix the awarding of the Vets as I have now been waiting over a month for resolution on my 57 month one..... Been waiting for 3 weeks for a reply on this ;o((((
Have you gone to the support site and checked the status under 'my stuff' ?
Given the times typically seen reported (2-3 days), something sounds odd.
