Man, that raid was fun - highlight of my COH career

    [/ QUOTE ]

I enjoyed it, it was a solid 3 hours of everyone paying attention and doing what was asked. I think otherwise it would not have come together.

However it was a lot of organistation and effort involved for the leaders. And also a shame that with the 50 limit not everyone who wanted to could get in.

TBH the way hami is now, I am glad I did it one time, but I certainly won't be running any raids like I did before i9. With the STF it is much easier to get 8 people together and in the same time get the same reward.

I think in terms of risk vs reward hami just isn't worth it anymore.
  2. Good luck Cap, and see you again soon.
  3. Yep, they were beaten with the bat, here is the thread you missed....

    Pick me, Pick me
  4. I have a semi-child that I RP. I find it very hard to do right, I mixed her up as a faerie child in order to give me a little leeway in how she acts, but I still find it tough to get right. I haven't had any feedback about her so I will take that as a positive sign. Keep an eye out for Lilit if you see her ... she will most likely be hiding, or peeping out from behind Red Commissars legs as she trusts him (he let her have his funny pages).

    Hami Done

Well done to everyone, that was 100% teamwork needed, and got.

Thanks everyone, especially organisers for that.
  6. Callista

    HAMIDON RAID!

I'll be along, got recall friend, and lot of Rad debuffness ready (mostly slotted with HO now, how's that for irony).
  7. Callista

    States TF Done!

Yep, done, no serious injuries sustained, in fact the only time I died was after we had finished and were chatting a flier came over and pummeled us :P
  8. I'll have a go too, I am pretty sure the SG are planning a States TF thing for the weekend, but I am hoping to get that done tomorrow night.
  9. I was quite worried at the start of that one, we didn't have nearly enough PA coverage. And as such the tank team wasn't able to get into the jelly. It was touch and go whether to carry on.

So, I figured we'd send the clearing group to take some of the agro and start clearing, using a lot of healing spam, allowing the tank to get in. Thanks to everyones hard work and the fact that no one complained for a second about being used as a decoy we managed to pull it off.

So congratulations to you all, a well earned HO, and thanks for making it a successful raid.

And definately the last one this time!!

I won't be able to attend tonight's raid unfortunately. Best of luck all.

Awwww, anyone able to lead the PA drop team?

    Grav/Rad?

    [ QUOTE ]

    Quick rundown of powers:

    Must haves:
    Grav:[*]Gravity Distortion [*]Gravity Distortion Field[*]Wormhole[*]Singularity
    Rad:[*]Radiant Aura[*]Radiation Infection[*]Accelerate Metabolism[*]Enervating Field[*]Lingering Radiation[*]EM Pulse

    Useful:
    Grav:[*]Crush*[*]Lift[*]Propel[*]Crushing Field
    Rad:[*]Mutation[*]Choking Cloud**

    Skippable:
    Grav:[*]Dimension Shift
    Rad:[*]Fallout

    [/ QUOTE ]

I agree mostly with this list, I tried lift for a bit but never stuck with it, crush is a better choice, and there is no good reason to take both, the slot could be better used elsewhere.

EMP is a good 'oops' power, I try not to use it too much, it has a long recharge and the loss of end can be a major blow. But in a team it can save the day if you bit off more than you can chew.

I never really got on with choking cloud either, mainly because of the end issue already mentioned. I thought it would be a good stalker revealer for PvP but it's rubbish for that.

Singularity is a great pet, I use mine to take the alpha strike when I solo, they are invaluable.

Propel is also a good attack, the animation is hugely long and uninteruptable, which can be a big pain if you fire it off just in time for someone else to pop in and kill the mob. The damage is good however and the knockback can be quite useful. Also great for comedy value, especially when teamed with someone who has never seen it used before.

Crushing field is probably my second most used power, since GDF takes so long to recharge it is the only group power you have left, I recommend taking it.

Mutation is handy, but if you want to skip it you can take a try of wakeys instead.

Fallout I tried, but the range on it sucks, the damage is mediocre and you need someone to have died on your team to use it. It's worth it to upset them by making use of their corpse, but to be honest it was a passing novelty.

Dimension shift is a dark horse. I used it, I think it is a good power, but I took it out of my build. Too many people don't like it and will actively complain if you use it, or fail to understand what is going on. I set up a bind to fire off the power that told people I had used it. If however you always team with the same group, then take it, as long as everyone knows what is happening it can take 50% of the enemies out of the fight whilst you deal with their friends, which is very useful.

    Grav/Rad?

    [ QUOTE ]
Duoing with two of these, I felt when planning the builds that the synergy was good between the two sets. However I'm not 100% sure especially for slotting and must/not have powers. Can anyone pick them out for me or link to a guide?

    Key thoughts:

Will 2x AM allow perma hasten/perma AM?

With 2x AM will I need stamina too?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Nope, won't be quite enough, and yes probably, certainly if you plan to use them separately sometimes.

Grav/Rad is a cool combo (Callista is grav/rad), it is worth taking all the rad debuffs you can get and make sure you put them up on any mobs, they make things so much easier.

I don't do hard numbers, but I have nearly 900 hours logged on a grav/rad, so if you want any advise send me a PM and I'll tell you how things worked for me.
  13. Yes, we are going to try another 'last' hami raid

Tuesday the 24th April, shall we say arive at 7:30 for an 8pm start?

We need lots of PA droppers, the guys worked really hard last time to keep enough coverage but another couple would really help out. So if you are a Illusion Controller sign up here!!
  14. In that case, can we see if we can get some more PA droppers to sign up, Generalissmo and his team worked their behinds off, but another few would have made a lot of difference.

If you are a PA dropper can you stick your name down here!!

Also Odins Son has signed up for tanking already, he feels he would like to have a go at that instead of targetting.

I'd be more than happy to co-lead with Cap Alpha again as it was such good fun last time

So, looks like Tuesday 24th is a go-er then!!
  15. Would there be call for another last raid on Tuesday 24th if I tried to organise one?

Assuming that i9 doesn't come first.
  16. Well done to everyone, there were a lot of new raiders there, a few who were doing jobs new to them.

However everyone followed instructions, worked together and got the job done. It was a really good show to put on and I was proud to be involved.

Thanks to everyone, you all now who you are!!
  17. I'm driving back from Cornwall this Sunday afternoon (about 3-5 hours depending on traffic) I should be there in plenty of time to start the Raid off, if however there has been an accident, road closed etc then Captain Alpha will be running everything for you.

That being said, I would quite like the PA droppers and Kin boosters to be in the hive for 7:30 (so arrive and organise at 7pm), and possibly even try and get the Hami Tank in place before everyone moves in on the hive at 8pm. Generalissmo is leading the PA team so if anyone with PA could contact him directly on the night, he will organise teams for you. There may be a need for someone with group fly also?

Do we have a hami tank and targetter in mind? Odins Son has been targetter in the past are you ok to do it again? Also was Hammerfall the tank?

You can contact me with my global @Callista or through forum PM although I won't be able to be on much now until Sunday evening (due to travelling).

We will be using the tried and tested method of holding Hami to death as described in this thread, make sure you get chance to read it before we start.

Thanks all and see you there!!
  18. [ QUOTE ]

If I'm free on the day, I can help lead; may aswell do it one more time before Hami gets wrecked. We can split leading duties 50:50 Callista if you wish, or I can take the full job one last time, I'm not fussed .

    [/ QUOTE ]

Cool, I'd be up to share lead with you if you are?

Would quite like to have a go before they change it into the 6 hour raid of doom cheers Cap.
  19. [ QUOTE ]
I'd be up for dropping PA one last time. The 18th was a Sunday last month btw - this month it's a Wednesday.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Oops, well spotted, shall we say the 15th then, meet 7:30 for an 8pm start?

Is anyone with experience of leading these interested in doing so again, or shall I do it?

    EDIT:

We'll also need volunteers to lead the PA drop team, the Tank team and a targetter (possibly 2).
  20. Anyone up for one or two last Hami Raids before i9?

    Sunday 18th anyone?
  21. Callista

    Life after i8

I was wondering how everyone else was getting on with their high level controllers since the i8 nerfs. This is only really directed at those people who had controllers with epics before i8 as they will be the ones to remember before and after.

For those who are wondering what I am referring to I am talking about the halfing of the damage output of most controller epic powers.

I have found that I am still able to solo ok, I now run away a bit more, and it does take me a bit longer, not twice as long surely but definately longer to complete a mission. I no longer feel powerful, but can be useful in a team. I find that my role in a team is becoming more of a side line, teams no longer feel that they need a controller like many feel they need a tank or a healer, more often I am invited to fill a space, or to help out a bit. I feel remarkably fragile, even more so than I do on my blaster, maybe as my range is not as good, and some of my powers are actualy player based, so I need to be quite near to the action.

All of these things whilst making me sad aren't game breaking, the thing I feel needs changing is the endurance cost of the epic powers. They are now very expensive to use for the mediocre damage output they do. I still have stamina 6 slotted (yes I know about ED) and at the end of every fight all the other ATs will have almost full end bars, and I will generally have run out half way.

I think it is a bit off to be using 2 times as much endurance as the blaster power, with 2 times the recharge time for a power that does at best (with containment) the same damage, and these are their low level powers. I can live with the recharge and lower damage as long as the cost of the power is reduced as well.

Anyone else think this needs more evaluating on the part of the devs?

Just as an aside, I love my controller to bits, it has always been my main, and despite being 50 now for 15 months was until i8 my main character, getting more than 75% of my play time every week, just because I enjoyed playing her the most. Since i8 I have barely used her, not in protest but just because it has become less fun (unquantifiable I know) to play her. When I play my scrapper, or my storm defender I feel strong, my controller now feels a little more frangile.
  22. Cool, I love the style, I am really looking forward to the finished version

    Thanks

I remember the first days of pocket D when his volume was turned up rather high and you could hear him from most of PD.

Was a good article, and I look forward to seeing the new paintings. You'll have to do Callista, she is a non standard looking hero
