Even though I wasn't there I still want to give a shout out of thanks to Pyro for running it. I've run events before... From the Commission Contests to in game events where I had Mod powers... And no matter how much planning you do something always comes up to make you scramble... Always. From the sounds of it you handled it great though!

More super quick Post-It Note sketches!



Hopefully you can make out what they're saying despite the scan and my lousy handwriting... I'll take a better crack at this again soon, I promise, but I had no reference materials at work and I'm just not good enough to sketch without having something to base it on.

Got exceptionally bored at work and tried my hand at a self portrait...

Still not the best work I could do, even at this point, but I put a bit more of an effort into it than the above. Problem was though that I was doing it from a pict of myself on my cell phone and the damn thing just wouldn't keep the picture up more than a minute or two at a time. That got rather frustrating...

I know the face is probably a bit too long... And there is way too much space between the nose and the eyes. I should have worked on the nose more as well... I tried to define it mainly through shading and I don't think it really worked out all that well. Can barely see the mouth (and may be worse on the scan than the original) but you barely could in the picture either - I was trying quite deliberately not to smile for the camera and thus I think my upper lip was kind of sicked in and the lower whited out. It's a common habit of mine for pictures though so I didn't try to change it.

Overall I can't say I'm happy with this but am satisfied considering the limited amount of time I put into it and the duress under which I was working And despite it's problems I'm sure anyone who knows me would recognize it as me so it's got that going for it...

And as for what's seen of my clothing, I know it can't be made out well. I was wearing a rather shapeless windbreaker over a white uniform shirt. I could have tried to define them better but I figured the focus should be on the face anyway so didn't bother...



Anyway, feel free to crticise, offer advice, tips, or just laugh

They just never learned to loathe properly... It takes skill and dedication to do right.

The Daybreakers are, from left to right, Officer Kirby, Tac-Officer Hoplite, Daybreaker Alpha (me), Officer J. Hustice and Daybreaker Sigma...

We are an early morning static team that meats up Tues + Thursday mornings at 9am eastern for a couple of hours each (anywhere between 2 and 4 depending on RL and how awake we are)

It's about the easiest going, coolest group I have ever been in. Everyone is amazingly laid back, helpful and nice... If you were really interested Pyro we have 3 openings on the static team (we stopped actively trying to fill to 8 but aren't opposed to new members) and most of us also have other toons we play whenever so we of course have openings in general membership... In fact I put all my toons in the group. We're on Virtue, by the way...

As for my avatar by CR, I believe I have a straightened version used in a couple buttons Pyro made up in my gallery (click the right hand face in Sig Bar for my DA page) under Gift Arts... Personally I like the angle. It gives it that oddness which really suits Caemgen

And I could never, ever work in pen on something that great. I would get to some point, realize I was doing great work, and be terified of screwing it up. That just makes your work all the more impressive.

Confirmation... Communion... Whatever I knew it was for some religious rite I don't recall what approximate ages which occurs at never having made it through any of them... Obviously I'm damned due to that so I figure I may as well live it up, eh?

Hot chicks with tats always make me wonder where else they have them... And how to go about getting them to let me search.

I'm pretty sure the commissioner of the Daybreaker piece loves and... Totally awesome and I'm sure the rest of the group will dig it too, once they see it.

Just grabbing up a little corner of real estate for me to show off all the great artz I have gotten as gifts or through commissions.

First up is nothing new but is one I absolutely love... A gift from ChristopherRobin which I immediately decided was the definitive face of Caemgen...



Next we have an amazing piece of art by Eddy Swan (http://eddy-swan.deviantart.com/) of the same character, just this time a full color/full body piece. I love the mood set in this piece by the colors and I absolutely love the celtic knotwork Eddy used on the gloves and the shoulder pieces. I've already asked artists who I also have working on this character to work it in to those pieces as well....




And last (for now, so latest?) but certainly not least, a group shot of my morning static team The Daybreak Patrol by Juggertha (http://juggertha.deviantart.com/). Having nothing but screen shots of each character, Juggy somehow managed to totally capture the character and personality of each while still maintaining that distinctive Juggertha style...

If someone says they have drawn for years and can only draw stick figures then I have to believe they've not tried to draw anything but stick figures.

Not to say everyone can become good but everyone can certainly get past stick figures if they try.
