what gets in the way or helps your art ???
What gets in my way: Pretty much the internet all together, I'll spend hours browsing DA and the CoH art forums and waiting for a response to messages.
What helps me get in the mood: Reading something with vivid imagery always makes me want to draw; It also seems for some odd reason that I do most of my drawings close to midnight.
I think it's about 50/50.

1.What interrupts me? The internet in general, looking at other art, building custom computers (it pays the bills
though so whatcha gonna do?) maintaining my two art threads and posting to the boards in general, a hot date
(or flurry of dating activity... it seems that when it rains it does in fact pour... then it's a drought lol)
City of Heroes, and more recently playing an old favorite Heroes of Might and Magic 3 (the Wrath of
the Gods expansion made entirely by fans of the game).
2. What gets me in the mood? Candlelight, some Barry White...
oh wait in the mood for art??? ummm right, ahem.
Ironically that would be maintaining my two art threads, reading and posting to the art forums,
looking at other art (everything from classical impressionist paintings to a quick tour of DA).
The same things that can distract me.
Good tunes, like when Ennvee DJ's every Tuesday on Radio FTW (shameless plug ), or the right
song can sometimes inspire me to create too, and of course, playing City of Heroes.
3. Well the numbers you give seem to suggest as one goes up the other goes down which I don't
necessarily agree with... I'm going to go with 80% dedication and 60% or better skill.
Kinda arbitrary though.
1. what gets in the way of your art making?
Mostly, my daughter. I love her to bits, but it is nearly impossible to get a lot of computer time when she's around.
2. what helps you get in the mood?
Watching animations.
3. what percentage of dedicaiton/skill, do you think would make a good artist ?
80% dedication, 20% skill. If you have the dedication, and keep at it, the skill will improve. And yes, I know there's going to be a flurry of people who say - "I've drawn for years and can only draw a stickman", but that only touches the surface. I've ben reading about the theroy that it takes 10,000 hours to be an expert at something... and that's what I think is needed to realy be up there. So, if you're still drawing stickmen after 10,000 hours of practice, then my theory is out to lunch.

((*WARNING:: even for me, this post has HORRID punctuation *))
..personally, psp's star ocean one and two and now pokemon platinum (( good news:I JUST GOT MY PINK SHINY LOPUNNY!! )) have pretty much turned my art progress to a slow crawl..
sooo.. I wanna know...
what gets in the way of you doing YOUR artwork..? (*meaning non-emergency things *)
AND what helps you get in the mood for doing artwork..?
personally, ive often thought that someone with 10 percent dedication and 90 percent skill in art, would be considered a good artist.. but sense no-one sees there stuff, probably no one would know..
and someone with a 90 percent dedication and 10 percent skill, would actually make a better artist, as more people would see there FINISHED work.. and after a while there skills would improve...
..so there...
1. what gets in the way of your art making?
2. what helps you get in the mood?
3. what percentage of dedicaiton/skill, do you think would make a good artist ?
