  1. Oh - weighing in on the genre split. I mostly wanted to do something different. Some of the category choices could have been a little bit better (and all 4 of Mirai's picks were in the first category) but the plan is to have only one more round of genre voting, then things will be re-randomized for the final 16.

Just remember one thing - this is a forum game done for fun and there are no rewards besides bragging rights.
  2. Some nice ones this month(s), glad I was able to stick around a bit longer. No voting this month because I don't have net access at home right now and don't think I'll be able to confer with my wife this time around as usual. Good luck to everyone!
  3. BTW - UltraTroll: you have to make a choice in every match up or none of your choices will count.

    Space: Above and Beyond

Vaguely remember this show, but remember enjoying it.

    Crusade

Not as good as B5, but still a pretty good show.

    The Prisoner

    Eerie, Indiana

Need to watch this again sometime.

    Misfits of Science

Haven't seen it, but seems like an interesting premise.

    Dead at 21

Gotta go with my pick, even though no one else has probably heard of it.

The Adventures of Brisco County, Jr

My wife enjoyed Moonlight, but gotta go with Bruce.

    Dollhouse

    Love this show.
  4. Firefly got pushed into wildcard territory because there were 22 picks that I deemed "sci-fi" so those that random.org gave a number higher than 16 went into the wildcard category.

    7. The Big Guy and Rusty the Boy Robot

    8. Cowboy Bebop
I didn't realize that most of the choices came down to anime vs. non-anime (or another anime) until now.

also: 30-ish more minutes for voting!
  6. Thanks Teldon for helping me out here, it's tough getting enough time to pull the links and everything for these first rounds especially, and getting the net at my new apt still eludes me... for now. On in time for my own votes!

Oh, and I did put the animated shows that felt more like sitcoms and/or geared towards adult comedy into the comedy category.

    Pirates of Dark Water

Gotta go with my own pick, also never seen Trigun, though I wish I had.

    Invader Zim

Never seen much of either of these, but what little I've seen of this one goes to my sensibilities.

    Neon Genesis Evangelion

Only seen the final movie of this... I think I need to catch more anime, at least more serious anime, have been geared more towards the wacky comedies like Excel Saga and Abenobashi.

    Freakazoid

Tough choice, but man does he look good in that underwear.

    Dungeons & Dragons

Love this show, 'swhy I picked it.

    Martian Successor Nadesico

Never seen either, going with the anime space comedy.

Spider-Man: The New Animated Series aka MTV's Spider-Man

Love the spiderman cartoons, and quite enjoyed what little I've seen of this one. Lots of stuff I haven't seen in this category, need to seek some of it out.

    Cowboy Bebop

Been meaning to catch more of this, only seen the best sessions compilation and fell in love with it.
  7. I'm doing things a little bit different here, I'm splitting things up into genres first: Animation, Comedy, Sci-Fi, and Wildcard (where Shawn Sage's last pick will also be) Hopefully I'm not stepping on any toes doing it this way, the match-ups are random within each section, except for a couple places where two of one person's pick was against each other. Normal rules apply, vote for every match up, and only vote for one in each match-up.

    Pirates of Dark Water vs.Trigun

    Afro Samurai vs. Invader Zim

    Neon Genesis Evangelion vs. Claymore

    Freakazoid vs. Outlaw Star

    Baccano! vs. Dungeons & Dragons

    Martian Successor Nadesico vs. Inhumanoids.

Spider-Man: The New Animated Series aka MTV's Spider-Man vs. The Big Guy and Rusty the Boy Robot

Cowboy Bebop vs. The Spectacular Spiderman

  8. If HEARCWK==TRUE && TIME==CURRENT THEN PRA==SFE?

  9. Bah, I'll be moving this Friday... but maybe I can sneak this in and start moving on Saturday...
  10. Nice stuff, though one videographer has disabled embedding. Forget his name already, but did Daydream, tiki god, dance gun, etc.
  11. It seems like a nice day... FOR SCIENCE!

Have you tried new Hamidon flavored gelatin? I think it tastes like coconut.

The other day I tried signing up for Hero Corps just for fun, little did I know they have a sidekick division. Say hello to "Expendable Boy".

One is a street talking, donut loving, man on a mission from God, the other is a gentle, sensitive performance artist who loves to drink Chai tea, together they fight crime!
  13. I remember a while back, someone on the screenshots and art forum was making a model of Grandville in some FPS game with lots of mods available. Not exactly on topic, but it reminded me of it. Not sure if they ever finished it though.
  14. I always skip training the odd numbered levels until it moves off of the even/odd system. In fact, many times when I log into a lesser played character, they have the green arrow in their level window. Of course, I'm rather absentminded, so occasionally I find out that I was sitting on a power choice for however long.

  16. Here's my thoughts on the situation. I didn't read every post, but I think I got the gist of it.

How can you tell apart DOs/SOs?

    1) The color: Especially for the grey colors, this isn't a very good solution. I know I personally have trouble finding recharge reductions in stores.

    2) The name: This only works if you've been playing long enough to memorize what they are, the names are flavor and confusing.

    3) The tooltip text: This is currently bugged.

    4) The information: this is two extra steps that shouldn't have to be needed. You may say it's a simple two steps (right click, then left click "info") but it is still two more steps.

    5) The icon: This works for DOs and generic IOs, but not DOs/SOs, they only have a handful of different icons which are shared between many enhancements.

So, which is the best solution to correct this problem? I would say Icons or names.
  17. Going classifieds, click for dA page.

Oh well, really doesn't matter, just curious.
Yeah, I kind of got off track there, still got a while to tweak it. The original intent was yellow pages type ads, but the one-liners turned into more of a newspaper classifieds. I'll either take them out or change to a classifieds style. We'll see.
  19. Here's a couple more, and with at least one spot left to fill... still not entirely sure about this, but whatcha gonna do?

  21. The cake my wife had made for me. She didn't have them put my name because she knew I'd post it online and I'm super secretive about that kind of stuff... *shifty eyes*
  22. Update 6-19-10

Not too much to report, but I did get a very nice sketch from Christopher Robin of my scrapper in my birthday thread. Very nice!

From a player's side it is difficult to find arcs using the search. There a lot of unfinished story's, farms, dead farms, bugged missions, deathtraps (Arcs designed to kill teams that play on +4x8), etc. Wading through all this stuff is tedious enough that usually I would rather do The Hallows missions..again.

I don't farm and due to time constraints I solo a lot. Other than browsing through the forums and looking at sigs, is there any place where there is a vetted list of reccomended arcs for players like me?
Dev's Choice Suggestion Thread: other players recommending great arcs that should be Dev's Choiced.

Excellent Arcs: Great arcs that are stuck at 4 star ratings, submitted by players and authors.

AE Contact Tree: Maintained by PoliceWoman and thoroughly organized by morality and level range.
