I'm not going to ragequit or regret my annual renewal... But I *am* angry about the way they handled this.
As I said in the other thread, if they didn't have this in place and knew it might be a problem they SHOULD NOT have been telling us for the last few months that we'd get the tokens up front.
I'd still be disappointed about not getting to use those costume bits (I'm at least a year out from Tier 9 as things stand now-), but I wouldn't be nearly as ticked about it. -
Quote:Al can be as rational as he likes.A little less Emo from the customers and they'd be more willing to provide more information.
I did not say sit down and shut up. But I do think that your response was more than a tad too over the top in angry rant. Less Rant and more Reasonable Review would make a much more Pleasurable Process for all.
I see that Techbot is frustrated and irritated that he wouldn't be able to get all of his tokens up front, but he's not mad as hell about it. At least, he's not coming across that way.
You might want to think about that.
I'm angry at being played for a sucker and I see no reason to deny that.
ETA: And for what it's worth, I'm far from "emo". <_< -
Quote:So we're supposed to just sit down and shut up when they pull something like this? Be "good little consumers" and not point out the problem?I feel that, with more responses like this, the Devs will start giving less information out about upcoming issues.
I see a day when what we are told would go something like...
Dev Announcement: In Some Future Issue Issue some stuff will be added that at least one person will like. Thank you for your time.
I think not.
A little honesty about where they were with the system would have saved a lot of trouble. >_< -
Quote:Z... I'm going to just be blunt about this. I'm not "disappointed" by this last-minute change of plans. I damned near LIVID about it.Firstly,
I am sorry to have been the one to disappoint you Techbot. I know that you've been looking forward to this particular aspect, as have many players. When I got the news on Friday, my heart sank a little bit.
Silver lining: The costume parts will be available for a decent amount of time before they rotate out. We will be certain to give heads up before we rotate Tier 9 VIP Rewards out for new ones so that players have the opportunity to make any appropriate purchases to reach tier 9, if they so choose to.

You guys have been telling us for MONTHS that the tokens would be awarded ahead of time and I know I'm not the only one who went ahead and picked up an annual renewal based on those claims. I wanted access to those costume parts and was willing to spend a fair chunk of subscription money all at once on the annual subscription to get them.
If you didn't have the system in place and knew that it was going to difficult to impliment WHY THE HECK DID YOU KEEP TELLING PEOPLE WE'D GET THE TOKENS UP FRONT?
'Sorry to be so hostile about this... But it's the first thing you guys have done that's really made me angry. I feel like I've played for a sucker. -
Quote:Could be...That's because there's never anyone in Atlas!
Union was full of farming spam (as was Defiant) a few years back (and pre AE it was all 'fill-for-me' PI farms), I'm guessing most dedicated EU farmers have jumped to Freedom.
I always run tip missions in Atlas because the zone's relatively small, and, like Al, I haven't seen any farm spam while doing that on Union. I haven't seen much of it on Liberty, either. There's a bit more on Virtue, but nothing like the bulk Freedom gets. -
Yays!

I've been itching to get started on the live versions of Pamina and Tamino for weeks now... It's hard to be patient. -
My cat Sara... who's typically camped out on the corner of my desk watching me play when I'm in the City, and who loves nothing better than sitting on my comic books when I'm trying to read them... is probably as well-versed in heroism and villainy as any feline. But she doesn't like getting her paws dirty. She has FCM and I, her human servants, to do everything for her.
Sara would be a Mastermind.
Of that, I have absolutely no doubt. -
Ooooooo.... *grins*
Big, spiffy Seeds to fight popping up all over the place? Oh, yeah! Gimme!
(I really do like the Big Guy drifting around First Ward. Very cool model, a lot fun to go after and his sound effects are great... I wouldn't mind seeing those elsewhere at all.) -
Kestrel, Pally and Ash were all three in the neighborhood of 500 the last time I checked. And they're just my older mains. I'm sure Shade and Surruna are getting up there, too.
-
I do move around and stretch between things pretty often... and then there's Sara to deal with. o_0 Sara is my cat. She typically camps out on my desk when I'm playing. Or right on top of my keyboard, depending on how keen she is to be the center of attention.
The people I team and trial with regularly on Liberty are pretty used to me AFKing during down-time due to "cat aggro". That typically turns into me pulling a ribbon around for Sara to chase for a few minutes. Exercise for both of us, I guess. -
Indeed.
'Funny that Fitz hasn't said anything... -
FCM and I keep running in this problem when we're duoing... EBs seem to be particularly prone to taking off on us, though bosses occasionally run for the hills to.
It's not fun having to chase an EB from one end of the map to the other. Really, it isn't. <_< -

-a beach towel cape secured with a safety pin. -
I wondered if that might be the case... I also had some buff bar issues with the Bride's zombies yesterday. (If their Thermal shield icons ever started flashing inside a mission, they would continue to flash even after I renewed the shields. 'Also annoying, that. o_0)

I've noticed two strange things while playing with my Ninja and Zombie Masterminds (on the Liberty and Union live servers, respectively-) over the last couple of days...
First, there's been a lot of odd "teleporting" behavior with both my henchmen and the goons they're fighting... It's difficult to describe, but the avatar in question will start to move at Position A, vanish, instantly re-appear at Position B (which is occasionally under the floor or otherwise inside the map geometry based on the position of the targeting box), then vanish again before finally popping back in at Position C, which seems to be where they were heading when they started to move.
This is a very recent development. Prior to earlier in the week, I'd never seen either set of henchmen or their targets bounce around like that. I also haven't noticed that particular oddness in the enemy spawns when playing any other characters.
The second issue is one that's been affecting Lore pets for several weeks, but only came to my attention with the Masterminds recently... When you switch their stance or issue positional commands (either via drop-down, click or macro-) the graphics on the pet window don't change to reflect that status. They seem to be perpetually stuck displaying as "Passive/Follow", no matter what their actual orders are.
That's a relatively minor bug, I know.... But it's a bit annoying not to be able to see who you've set to what at a glance. -
Quote:One of the folks on our Lambda run Monday night had that happen. One minute she was on the list with the rest of us, and the next she was off on her own as far as she could tell. She still showed up on the League list as usual for the rest of the crew, but from her own POV, she was soloing. It was on a BAF, and just before that he was "solo" on a Lambda (the rest of the league seen him, but he couldn't see anyone on the league list but himself).
A few minutes later, everything went back to normal. AFAIK, she didn't do anything in particular to trigger either situation herself. -
I *wish* we had a decent unicorn horn (and yes, I did add that to the costume suggestion thread once upon a time-)... Star Dasher, my Robot Unicorn Attack brute, will never feel quite "complete" without one.
He does rock that Rainbow Path aura, though. -
Out of sheer curiosity, I just checked on both my own accounts, too... and it's there just like it ought to be. 'Very last item on the "Auras" list for a new character on either one.
-
Most of my non-Praetorian blues-siders started in Galaxy, but I've never really thought of any of them as living there, or having any personal attachment to the place... So, no. None of my crew will be removed or changed due to its destruction.
Now, if the devs ever do the "Galaxy treatment" on Steel, Talos, Peregrine Island or Saint Martial, that's a whole different story... -
My favorite scrap is sort-of like that...
I've had Ash a long time, have played him an awful lot and know pretty much exactly what he can handle and what he can't. Running him through something like Harvey's demons mission or one of the Freakworld maps is nearly autopilot... There's something a little zen in it, I guess. Very "load it up and go". -
Some characters really do seem to get luckier with drops than others... It's just the nature of random being random.
With my crew, it was my Archery Blaster who got a ridiculous number of VR bits. He got eight of the things all together. My Rad defender got five. Most got one or two... Several got none at all. -
My top three would be:
Stalkers..
Scraps...
... and Tanks
I'm a bit of a melee specialist.
Coming in slightly behind them are the Defenders, Peacebringers and Blasters. Good fun, but not quite as much as my tougher melee characters give me.
Doms, Masterminds, Corruptors and VEATs are all in the mid-range of the list, though in no particular order. (Some sets work better for me than others, so I tend to judge those characters on an individual basis.)
Closer to the bottom are Brutes. I like melee, so that placement may seem odd, but I don't care so much for the point-to-point rush their mechanics force me to adopt.
The last two places belong to the Controllers and the Warshades. As I said in another post earlier today, I just don't "get" those guys. I'm no good at playing them and really don't enjoy doing it. -
I don't really dislike any of the ATs, but I feel like I just don't "get" Controllers or Warshades. I'm no good at playing them, and don't really enjoy the process.
-
I've had an awful lot of fun playing with my favorite Tank, Scrap and Peacebringer, and while I do adore each of those characters on their own merits, as a group I have to say that I love my Stalkers most of all.
"Underpowered" though they may be, they're the ones I find myself going back to most often.
