    Best n?3

I echo fire/cold corruptor. I am currently leveling one, and enjoying the crap out of it.
  2. I have also created Not Guilty to join you.

Man, I can't believe either of those weren't taken.

Not Guilty (dual blades/SR Brute) borrows from your look, in the event you were looking to compile a supergroup.

Guilty (Fortunata) is limited with her attire :/

  4. On Champion, it was pretty rough. Someone suggested lowering my graphics to the minimum, and the lag was still terrible. As someone else pointed out: "Now instead of just lag, I have UGLY lag"

I went to Steel, where the lag was more bearable... but quit after about fifteen minutes.
  5. When I was in the tutorial, I didn't realize that you had to hit the "enter" key to type. When someone approached me to tell me I had a nice costume, I tried to say "thank you. I like your costume, too!" only, my target window, chat and nav disappeared, I was auto running, and jumping up and down like an idiot. Thankfully, I was near a wall, so I didn't run too far away. She figured out what happened, and told me to hit "enter" to type. I could see her chat bubble, but the chat window disappeared.

She started saying something else, but I turned away, and didn't see all of it in the bubble, so I asked her to repeat it. She did, and I didn't catch it all again. So I said "one more time, please?" She asked why I didn't just read it in the chat window. I told her I didn't have one. She explained to hit "C".

My first team consisted of two other members. I was level 2, and they were level 5 (!!). I told them I was too low for them, and one invited me to be her sidekick. I told her that I was interested in being a superhero, not a sidekick, and that I didn't want to have to only team with her, as fun as it was. She explained that it would make me level 4, and it was just a term, I wasn't her actual sidekick.

At the end of that play session, I was going to go to bed. I thanked them for the team and the pointers, and told them I had fun. One told me I could join them any time, and to look them up in the "team" window. The next day, I opened the team window, and saw "search comment". I figured that was where I entered their names. A day or two later, I got a tell from them saying "Uh, why is my name your search comment?" I said, "I was looking for you!" They explained I was doing it wrong.

A few days after I started, the person who gave me the tips in the tutorial, I guess, noticed me in her global friends list. She sent a tell asking how I was liking the game. I asked how she could tell I was on, if I couldn't see her (avatar) around. She explained how to open my global friends list. I did so, saw her name, and saw "Shard: Freedom". I thought there was a zone called that, so I asked how to get to Freedom (I was on Champion at the time). She said "You select it". I asked where I select it from, and she said "the main menu". I saw "Menu" in the upper right of my screen, but couldn't find it. So I ran to the train station, and didn't see a "Freedom" listed. I asked in broadcast how to get to Freedom, and someone responded "You don't want to go there". I asked if I was too low for it. People laughed, but didn't respond. So I sent my global friend a tell, asking for clarification. She replied, "Uh. It's a server. Select it from where you chose Champion". So I logged out, selected Freedom, saw that Banana McJammyPants didn't exist there. I logged back into Champ, and said, "I don't think I can go there. Banana McJammyPants isn't listed".

I am sure that person smashed her head on her desk, dealing with me.

Ah yes.... going through the tutorial, a kindly stranger offered to show me the ropes, after it all, I asked how to save. She told me I didn't have to. I had no idea.

im 99% sure you cant kill the head until the tentacles are down either way, which was kind of what i was implying
I was under the impression that you can kill Lusca before its tentacles, and in doing so, Lusca casts Tentacle Death, taking them down with it. I could be mistaken.

The head is absolutely attackable while all of the tentacles are up.
  9. - That Wentworths was a live auction. As in, I would stand there, with my wares, and tell everyone what I had. They would then say, to me, what they were willing to buy it for. I went past it and saw a pile of high level characters in there, so I figured that's what they were doing. Being new to MMOs, I didn't want to be taken advantage of, so I sold everything I could to vendors.

After a few months, I figured I would give it a shot. I went in, and said something like, "I have three Regenerating Flesh salvage", and someone said something to the effect of "I'm proud of you". I walked out, and avoided Wentworths for another few months, before I figured it out.

    - My wife and I both started a trial together. I finished my character before she did, so I loaded into Outbreak first. I noticed there was text in the chat box that said "You received Mutagen". So I told her to look around for it when she loaded. She loaded and said "It says I received Throwing Knives". So we spent a few minutes looking around near the beginning to see if I could find knives, and if she could find mutagen.

    - I joined a team a few days after joining, and they were in Perez Park. I remembered seeing a park in Galaxy City, where I was, so I walked around until I found it. And waited. And waited. Someone said, "Banana, are you coming?" And I said "I'm here. Where are you guys?" And someone said, "Banana, we're at P Park". I told them I am at the park, but I can't find them. Someone said something disparaging about my being new, and I apologized for slowing them down and I quit. The team leader re-invited me and gave me guidance to get to Perez.

    - I joined a team in Croatoa, and there were two warshades on the team. I had read that they were unlocked by leveling a character to 50, so I knew that. They looked almost identical, with just slightly different colours. I thought this meant that warshades were locked to a specific costume. It wasn't particularly a nice costume, so when they came up in conversation, I said "I don't want to be a warshade if I have to look like that". The leader took offense, and kicked me from the team. I later ran into a warshade that looked completely different, and it occurred to me why the guy was angry.

    - Yes, I, too did the Yellow Line thing, where I wait for my destination to appear, and tried to enter through the exit doors. I also thought that the "Exit" button after completing a mission was telling me to exit. So I would run to the entrance. IT was a few nights after, when I was on a team that someone said, "Banana, are you running to the entrance?" I thought he was sarcastically asking if I was running, instead of walking, and I said, "I'm trying to get out as fast as I can. I have sprint on".

    So Firefly...

I had been hearing for years about this show, and a few months ago, it happened to be on sale at a store here for, like, $15. I decided to give it a shot, and fell in love with it.
  11. I have created Guilty to join you, Dinah.

I did okay but this one/Lady plays very different than my other toon that get the 10-15. I know you guys say it's random but I don't believe it. I think the powers you choose puts you in a better position. For example, Diva Attitude/Dominator, when she runs the LGTF has energy assault powers. She has enough of them and the range on her powers is so great that I can play and steal more kills than I can with Lady Attitude who is a Controller. Her powers are so pathetic she's late to the kills so much that I just level shifted to the top on just one of the Alphas this week. But Diva had all of them since December.

Drops are not tied to the amount of killshots you, yourself manage to land. If that were the case, I would consistently be getting more shards on my elec/shield scrapper than I do on my Willpower/War Mace tank. I have not noticed that to be the case.

Running the LGTF, I will typically get about 6 shards on either of these characters. I have never recorded the most shards on the team, and in many cases, I recorded the lowest amount. I have seen anywhere from 1 shard, to 10 shards, with 6 being the closest to the norm. On the scrapper, I have yielded 2 on a regular run, and with the tank, I have yielded 6 on a speed run. Admittedly, the 10-shard run was with my scrapper, but the Empath on the team got 11.

On ITFs, I notice I tend to get more shards. Usually in the neighbourhood of 8. The most I can recall getting on a single run was 13, with my tank, and 12 with an ice/cold corruptor, running regular runs. The most I can remember getting with my scrapper was 10. This was when we literally defeated everything.

Hard evidence? Not at all. But my anecdotal evidence is just as valid as yours.
  13. Thanks, I wasn't sure. I think that's the first time I've actively looked at my combat log in 3 years.
  14. I have an Oblit proc in mine, and I have never received damage while using the power, to my knowledge.

Just used it, and checked the log:

You crush Council Empire Adjutant for 64.57 points of bonus smashing damage!

I assume the bonus damage is from the proc?
  15. selecting the darkest shade of grey will be the least obtrusive (with the "bright fire" for thermal). Not much can be done about the floating bits though.
  16. Guilty.

The name is taken (by me), let me know if you want it, Dinah
  17. Have you tried adding /compatiblecursors to the command line?

Open the NCSoft Launcher, right-click on City of Heroes, and go to Properties.

At the bottom, there is a field for "Extra Command Line Parameters". Type "/compatiblecursors" (less quotes) and see if that helps

    You forgot the passive-aggressive "Thanks!"

    Anyway.

Can you access Ouro on this character via the Midnighter Club? Is the restriction limited only to access via Ouroboros?

  20. You get the temporary power for selecting and maintaining an alignment for seven days.

Do you have any Reward Merits? For the first time you do your set of tips and morality, you will be rewarded with 50 merits, instead of the alignment merit.

    Edit: seven, not ten days

    Hero in Blue

Just a generic hero, I gather. Just like the Animal Pack Tiger, and the flying guy in the top right.

If you look at the i20: Incarnates picture, I believe that's him behind the girl with horns.
