Start > Run then type CMD. In the dos box type "ping 64.25.35.107" ( no quotes ) If this is pingable type "ping cityofheroes.com" ( again no quotes ) It should show the IP that you first pinged, if it says not reachable its a DNS issues. If it gives you a completely different IP you most likely had a virus recently that modified your HOST file.
P.S. What I mean by completely different is doesn't start with 64.25.X.X. Since COH site probably has sever IP's load balanced to a DB server it probably has multiple IP's, but they all should be in the same IP range -
All of that has been done, there is a point though where it gets a bit ridiculous. 4 out of 4 characters I log on now have issues? I mean really. I am as patient as the next guy but this is getting a bit out of hand.
I guess I move on to the 5th character and pray I can play it without issues. -
I have one character locked in continual Map Server errors in Sharkhead on Pinnacle, I had another stuck in a broken Ouro all day yesterday. I have another who has a broken 10th tip that doesnt have the destroyable object in it ( destroy the triggers ). This is getting really old really fast

Quote:Actually it was the Masterminds that tipped the scale. It would have failed miserably without Pet Pwnage"I can join blueside next time for more debuffage since I finally got my heroes out of the hopeless error-happy prison known as Ouroboros.
Kind of makes sense that villains would have it a little easier than heroes though if you try to go debuff-heavy on both... villain debuffers have Blaster primaries while hero debuffers have Blaster secondaries or puny-damaging Controls.
I guess beginning today we'll be seeing Corruptors on the blueside runs! -
Let it sit for 10 minutes and the blue bar goes maybe an inch., then nothing. Whats wrong?

Quote:Dont get me wrong , its pretty scary and crazy sometimes darting all over the place with Siphon Speed and no form of Immobilization on the mobs. Shoot, SP, shoot , SS , heal , shoot, Its a very active set , but thats the fun of it. With my tri dark I TT, Tar, Fear , NF, TT, NF,TT so on, Its very safe and very boringA good point, though that sets me up for a few problems when teams become more difficult to find, or if I want to run a few old story arcs that no one else is interested in. Though, from what Brakner says, DP/Kin doesn't seem to be /terrible/ solo.
EDIT: I think at this point, I'm mostly choosing between DP/Storm and DP/Kin. /Dark, while a powerful secondary, is something I've played a few too many times and I'd rather try one of these two. While there's plenty of information on how DP/Kin synergize, has anyone played a DP/Storm? -
Quote:Awesome thanks, I have way to many characters and alts to stay that focusedNo drop timer that I'm aware of. I know I've gotten 2 tips in the same mission, and may have even gotten them in quick succession.
There's no decay on loyalty points -- that's a cooldown timer. It's telling you that you have to wait at least 20 hours before any further tip missions will count for alignment points.
It's actually set up to reward casual play in short spurts, not punish it.
Squirrel >o.o> -
Tips thing is still very confusing to me.
1. You can only do 5 tips a day
2. Tips have a drop timer which I believe is separated by 30 minutes
3. This means it will take 2 ½ hours to get all 5 tips
4. After doing all 5 tips you will have 5 loyalty points
5. Loyalty points start to decay after 20 hours
This is my problem, If I get home at 5:00 pm and play until 8:00 getting all 5 tips then loyalty points. I log on again the next day at 5:00 pm it’s been 21 hours since I logged off, so I lose one of my loyalty points? I have to get 6 tips now to make up for the one I just lost? This seems to be a losing battle for people who cant play for long periods of time ( work, kids so on ) -
Quote:Facing 0 / 1 no AV missions? Why wouldnt he? He can do blaster level damage ( FULC + SP ) and has a healthy AOE heal centered on the mob. (which is pretty much where you are 90% of the time anyway )My DP/Kin is lvl 40. He's awesome on a team, but doesn't survive well solo. Makes me wish I took /DM, but I already have 2 50's with /DM.
I can solo "normal" missions perfectly fine and just as fast and easy as my dark/dark defender. -
We use to organize a weekly Hess run on the forums, this lasted almost 2 years. Make a post for a run for say Saturday or Sunday and I bet you will have 20+ people sign up. You might have a dificult time right now since most people are playing the new content with lowbies and dont want to switch to older characters until they finish up at level 20 ( I know I am and my SG and firiends arre the same )

Quote:Hrm did not know that. The PP pets are beyond useless, with the possible exception of the Dom Mu one, which occasionally heals you.
If you want Shadowmeld go for it, but I'd get Tough rather than the pet. The pets are TERRIBLE.
Also not 100% sure if I want to keep relying on a clicky. At least with toggles you can focus on attacking. -
So do you think its worth dropping Boxing, Tough and Weave at 41, 44 and 47 in favor of DB, Shadowmeld and a Widow? I would lose 17% resist and 6% Def in favor of a modified 32% Def with a 15 second duration on a 32 second recharge. hrm ( oh and I get a 6 slotted Expediant Widow )
I could take tough at 47 but the with Shadowmeld soft capping everything every 32 seconds not sure if I need it. Plus a Scrapper with a pet!

Only way you are going to see the "me" inside the armor is with a can opener and some tartar sauceFortification is a great power effectiveness wise, but can you guys really tolerate that aura? I feel the need to respec out of this power just so I can see my costume.
-
Just turned on pet tohit in my combat window 2.00x is a typo. I removed the level 50 Acc IO and all his hits say 75% on whites.
-
I just noticed in game its base tohit is 2.00x is that accurate? Did that change? I don't remember it being that high last year. if so, I guess I can remove the 50 acc IO.
-
It occasionally has brain farts. I2 days ago a did a Ouro Posi solo at -1 and the first 3 clocks I encountered were Orange and very +2 to me, was a slightly painful surprise. Eventually by the second mission I was seeing 0s and -1s

Quote:Thanks.I believe that is the case, Brakner. I did it on test with my main to see how stupid a fully purpled claws/sr scrapper would be with hibernate.
It was mighty stupid.
Hrm, well that changes everything . I have been holding off doing respecs on 3 or 4 heroes because of the new PPP's. Since I wount be switching these heroes to villains I guess I can do their respecs now. -
Ok slightly off topic but related. For heroes to use the opposite pools we need to completely switch and do the appropriate patron arc? So for my Scrapper to be able to use Shadow Meld I would need to go full villain and do the arc up until the badge right?
-
Yep thats the way I am going on my Fire/Fire. Removing 5 slots and the Obliterations out of Consume and taking Darkest Night's mittigation -tohit AoE. I would lose 3.75% melee defense in faovor of 17% ( enhanced ) -tohit.
Going to stick with a 6 slotted Mako Scorch over Gloom ( personal preference ), with hasten I have it down to 1.15 seconds and 115 damage. Add now -resist on out tier one power and it is very good single target DPS. -
Lord Cyclones , very nice build also.
I actually preferred S/L defense build for day to day tanking things like ITF and Khan, I just got really tired of getting A new one ripped to me when the occasional non S/L AV would make me their B$%#ch. I decided to go the generic melee / range defense instead that covered all damage types in one category. It was a bit less defense but safer overall , I can actually tank +2 Carnies ! ( Not that anyone would actually want to unless forced, heh )
-
Looks pretty good , you can actually get much higher numbers without purples and PvP IO's, this is what I use right now and he has finished the MSTF without an Emp. I find it's not just defense its a balance of defense, resist and HP's. With Titaniums and Mako's you get that over Aegis and Crushing Impacts. ( and they are cheap too )
39.6% melee defense, 71% resist, 2400 hps ( with IO's and accolades ) when GR comes out we will have Darkest Night for even more mittigation.

Anyway to create a /macro for Alkaloid that points to the arsonist only? I played around with it a bit and couldn't figure it out.

Just thought of something , I can create a /macro that targets the arsonist then mash the alkaloid key after I guess -
Quote:Why wouldnt Merc be able to solo AV's? As stated many times before Mercs Damage is the same as all other except against lethal/smashing resist. it has been proven through Combat Stats and through multiple "bank safe" damage tests. Soloing AVs is based on your secondary not your primary, as long as you have good mittigation and -regen any MM can solo an AV.And how many AVs have you soloed? Because other sets can and have soloed avs. My Thugs/poison has soloed two and my bots /traps, well he's taken down more than 50 at this point.
I'd say most mm primaries can do really crazy things with the exception of mercs. In my opinion, MMs are sold as "why get a team when you are a team?" so they SHOULD be able to solo most of the content in the game. Which means if mercs can't they need an upgrade. -
I run 4 Blood Mandates, Lady Grey Proc and Achilles in the Soldiers and Spec-Ops. 4 Blood Mandates, Sov 10% resist and Edict 5% Def in Commando.
Gives you 88% tohit 88% damage and procs ( plus the end recovery x 3 for sets )
This is my Mercs/Dark that has been around since day 1 of COV release, maybe its all the procs and Dark's -res -hit ( plus fluffy )that has tainted my opinion but I have zero issues killing +3 spawns or EB /AV's
