    The very source of the powersets names, identifies what the theme of those powers are.

    That's exactly what Zwill was talking about. From looking at the name of the powerset itself and nothing else, no one would guess it's dual wielding ice and fire swords, in fact from what I've seen from some other threads, people were guessing other things when they saw the name on the website. Mainly just that it was a recolored plants.

    That's why I think it could be it.

    Regardless, whether it is the new set or not we'll find out in a week at the Player Summit, but I'm willing to bet that it is.
  2. I'm with Sypher, mainly because of something Zwill said in a coffee talk a few weeks ago.

    The next powerset (and I think it's a Free-to-VIP powerset, too) would be one with a name that players thought would be one thing, but would turn out to be something different.

    That seems to coincide with Autumnal pretty well, considering alot of people were thinking it meant plants and stuff and not dual wielding fire and ice swords.

    I was thinking, I checked Paragon Wiki, and I don't think Controllers get /Traps.

    I'm thinking that it might be cooler if, instead of doing a flat power proliferation, they change some powers, replace some, and bring up a whole Device Control set

    You could pair it up with a good Munitions Assault, there are enough PC attacks to fully build that one without having to create any new powers (though they'd still have to be tweaked) It'd be kind of like the Arachnos Soldier attack set

    For example,

    Burst
    Pummel
    Slug
    M30 Grenade
    Aim
    Heavy Burst
    Bayonet
    Sniper Rifle
    Full Auto

    Eh, I think this was more of a damned if you do, damned if you don't situation. If they let them fight her, people would complain that you're beating up an old woman.

    So it wouldn't have worked either way.
  8. As the title says, why isn't the game on Steam yet? They took it off when the game went F2P, but it hasn't been brought back yet.

    Any word on the matter?

  10. Ah, villains doing villainy. I wasn't expecting to actually be able to take out a hero this early in the SSA storyline, so I was surprised.

    Edit: Though, now that I think about it, there is a missed opportunity in the arc, not talking about the ending, though. In the villain version at least you fight the Shining Stars, would have been a great place to add some custom dialogue if you were a hero and ran those arcs before turning villain (which that character did). But all we got was generic 'You won't win!' 'I've beaten lots of punks like you,' etc.
  11. I'd love to try a Dual Pistol Corruptor, the Swap Ammo mechanic seems really interesting, but I just can't get past the outright goofy looking animations...
  12. Thanks for showing me that. I wound up having to replace a couple of powers, but I think I've got it. I managed to both softcap S/L defense and save a couple of slots. Don't have as high defense in other areas, but Darkest Night compensates for that. And helps as a counter against that dreaded Defense Debuff.

  14. Hi. I used to play the game alot, and I've recently come back since Freedom launched, so I picked up the new powersets.

    So I've made a Beam Rifle/Kinetics Corruptor and I think I've made a good build, I managed to softcap S/L defense with a Patron Shield, but I dunno if I squeezed too much out of everything else.

    Also don't know if I should drop a power for Hasten or if I should pick up the one beam rifle attack I skipped...

  17. Could just make the buff powers PBAoE, though that'd require some tweaking to keep it from being OP.
  18. Brainstorming a little more. For a little more tactical utility, how about using the same tech that Dual Pistols uses and having three different buffs the pet can give out (either changing the buff on the pet or killing/replacing them with an identical one with a different buff) so you can either have a pet that buffs defense for 5%, damage for another 10%, or tohit for 10%.
  19. ...that doesn't mean it's not a missed opportunity. These aren't vet rewards anymore, the Premium Reward Levels are to get premium players to spend money. If the top prize is meh, not too many people are gonna care to pay to get it.
  20. Like Tsoo Inkman, yeah. It's kind of like how Stalkers have one power replaced by Hide, this would be one power replaced by a Pet.
  21. Something I noticed when I was a Premium member, the Premium Reward Levels unlock awesome things. Level 4 unlocks the Auction House and the ability to get Merits permanently for free, Level 5 unlocks MMs and Controllers for free, Level 6 unlocks the Mission Creator for free, Level 7 gives you an IO license for free permanently, and Level 8... lets large inspirations drop. That's it.

    It just seems a little anticlimatic, and a missed opportunity. I keep hearing that people want to get to Tier 7 because that's the best tier. I haven't heard a single premium player say they want to get to Tier 8.

    I don't know what they should add, just that they should add something, otherwise it's like a missed opportunity.
  22. Since I think at least some of the devs kind of want to make this kind of AT, I figured I'd throw an idea out there.

    The Overlord (Villain Name) or The Paragon (Hero Name)

    Basically a Jack-of-all-Trades 'Battle Commander' type of AT

    Two things are special about the AT to set it apart even more, the first is the AT special ability, 'Motivation'. It gives a base +5% increase to Damage, ToHit and Defense to the character and all allies around him within 30'. For every successful attack, each of these increase by 1% for 5 seconds (up to a max of around 10%)

    The second is that the first ability in every support set is a ranged attack/support pet themed around the set to round out the characters abilities, and the pet would be controllable like an MMs pet, maybe with a small PBAoE +5% Def Aura for being around it (all of this to make up for the lack of personal armor skills). The pet would probably be somewhere around the strength of the Protector Bots from Masterminds, maybe a little stronger because there's only one of it.

    Let me know what you think, or if you have any suggestions for it.

  25. ** Spoilers on Lt. Harris' arc **

    So, because I went with the other path my first time through, I went to Ouroboros to go through Fire Wire's arc, it went through fine, but then afterwards went straight into Lt. Harris' arc for some reason, which I had already done through the other quest chain.

    And because of certain choices I made during the last go-around with Lt. Harris... he isn't there. So this Ouroboros arc is completely uncompleteable for rewards.
