At least ten, with the potential for more if it works out well enough.

...I didn't know Superman was around 'in real life'

Quote:Hah. I've got a WM/SD brute, too. I like making Jawbreaker the deathblow for the machines that explode on death--they literally leave a trail of smoke flying up off-screen.Loving my mace/shield brute hero side. No clue how optimally I'm performing (which of course means probably not), but I'm whacking Nazi wannabes, diet Nazi wannabes, gangbangers, mobsters, robots, terrorists, and aliens with a baseball bat. The crunch sounds are just so satisfying, and Jawbreaker is just priceless because the animation and knockup makes it look like you launched the bad guys by whacking them in the junk.

A thought struck me earlier, why don't MM's have Sonic Resonance? It looks like it'd work just fine on them, maybe with a modification or two but still, mostly just fine.
Agree or disagree?
Edit: Or, heck, maybe change it around a bit and make it a pseudo-Leadership secondary, -
As much as it'd be cool to have, I'm 110% sure they'll never add Kinetics.
However, I'd kinda like to see Sonic Resonance as an MM Secondary. -
Man, imagine an MM with all those extra pets...

You're only supposed to put one up for critiquing... at least that's what it said on the first post.
That said, here's mine. It's the first arc I've made in years.
Arc Name: Your Blue Collar Nemesis
Arc ID: 455005
Synopsis: A new enemy group has appeared in Paragon and began a kidnapping spree. Are you heroic to save the day from this threat?
I will admit, it involves Praetoria and a couple of characters I brought in. -
Er... they said nothing about that. It's not about starting the timer at the start the mission at all.
It's for those people who finish the mission and just quit instead of exitting. -
Er, they already exist. The Backup Radio temp power.
Plus, iirc a possible leaked Incarnate Content power was this. Called Lore, I think. -
It's a real, unbelievably long stretch. But 'Your Blue Collar Nemesis' (Arc ID: 455005) may possibly qualify as it does include a quote-unquote "hero" that may quote-unquote "fall"
Even if it's not the PC. -
I haven't personally made a new character just for the name--but I have seen some awesome names that I would have done if I had thought of them.
The most significant one being this guy that made a character using the clockwork parts... named 'A Clockwork Orange'
Best character name I ever saw. -
Quote:You know, I saw another suggestion about alignment and SG/VGs before. Something about a checklist for which alignments you'd allow into the SG.4: Allow them into teammates bases!
As it is, Rogues can't enter hero bases, and Vigs can't enter villain bases... why? We can team up, and we can go for the same goals and objectives... but you won't let me into your home? Sure, I may have done some bad things in the past, but I'm redeeming myself, and you're seeing it first hand Mr. Hero, why can't I come to your base and use your teleporters, or medical equipment? -
Or, heck, give a suggestion to a new Single Target ability using a (or a slightly modified version of a) pre-existing animation.
-
Quote:Yeah, not too many of them have 3, and yeah, I was just glancing through them last time and I didn't catch that one of Thorn's attacks was just a clone of Caltrops. You were right there. But there is a precedent for 3 AoE attacks. Are we playing the same game?
Only Earth, Fire, and Thorny have more than 2 abilities that can even cause damage to an area. Earth has a PBAoE damage aura, which is unique to the set. Fire has a PBAoE +end/+recovery that does minor damage and is on a 3 minute timer-- this is not used as an attack but as a recovery tool. Thorny has a 5 target melee cone and a pseudo pet that causes area denial-- none of which are targeted AoEs or ranged cone attacks. For comparison your proposed Munitions Assault has 2 cone attacks and 2 TAoE attacks while every other set has just one. Not one of each, but one.
I'd suggest reworking it so that the build is more realistic. But if you honestly think that Venom Grenade, M30, Heavy Burst, and Full Auto are completely kosher in Assault design, then by all means keep it fanciful.
I'd make one of those a PBAoE, but as far as I know, there are no pre-existing munitions style PBAoE abilities, and none that could be modified into such and still make sense.
And, again about Venom Grenade--the important thing about the attack is NOT the damage, I repeat, it's NOT the damage. I'll take the damage out if it's that important for ya. The important thing is the debuff--it's supposed to be a replacement for Build Up to help make the set unique
Edit: As for the others, what attack could replace them? AR has all of THREE usable Single Target attacks. Burst, Slug, and Sniper. (There's also Beanbag, but it's in the primary) Combined with the Wolf Spider gun melee attacks I'd still have to have 3 to 4 AoE abilities. -

Outside of the Axe=Lethal and WM=Smashing, there's this from an earlier thread on the same thing.
Quote:Oh, I just noticed in the numbers the following:
T9 of Battle Axe does more damage (10) but hits 5 instead of 10 and has a chance it won't knockdown.
T8 of Battle Axe does more damage (20) but a slightly narrower (20 degree instead of 45 degree) cone.
On the basis of the T9 (10 targets is beautiful) I'd probably favour WM. The damage is too close to call but the extra targets and mitigation is fantastic.
I stand corrected, sorry. Axe has better base damage, WM probably is better overall. I'd still say go with what you think looks better -
Quote:Okay, then maybe Dark Melee. It provides mitigation in the form of -to hit debuffs, and doesn't slow down the enemies rate of fire.A dead brute builds no fury, and you still build fury by you attacking them too.
Yes, because there's absolutely nothing smash-y or brutish about punching things so hard they burst into flame. >_> -
People were saying on the Suggestion Board that there may be too many Grenade animation powers (Even though I wanted the M30 Grenade animation--fired from the rifle, not thrown), so I changed one and provided some alternates to others
-
Quote:I don't see what you mean by lack of control, I mean...As it stands I'd never personally even think of playing this set. The difference with those sets not having damage is that they have equal control effects to back it up... I'm seeing a lack of both here.
Munitions has an ST Immob, an ST Hold, an AoE Slow, an ST Disorient, 2 AoE Disorients, an AoE Sleep, and an AoE Hold.
Meanwhile, on, say, Earth, it has an ST Immob, an ST Hold, an AoE Immob, an AoE Slow, a PBAoE Sleep, and an AoE Hold.
Electric has an ST Immob, an ST Hold, an AoE Immob, an AoE sleep, an AoE Hold, and an AoE Confuse
Fire has an ST Immob, an ST Hold, an AoE Immob, an AoE Disorient, and an AoE Hold
Gravity has an ST Immob, an ST Hold, an AoE Immob, an ST Intangible, an AoE Hold, and an AoE Disorient
Ice has an ST Immob, an ST Hold, Several ST/AoE Slows, an AoE Confuse, an AoE Sleep, and an AoE Hold
Mind has an ST Sleep, an ST Hold, an ST Confuse, an AoE Sleep, two AoE Holds, a Fear, and an AoE Confuse
Plant has an ST Immob, an ST Hold, an AoE Immob, a Sleep, a Confuse, and an AoE Hold
Outside of missing an AoE Immob, if they give Munitions Control a similar Mag to other Dominator Primaries, it'd be just as powerful, with a focus on Disorients. So, I just don't see what you mean by that Munitions would lack control.
And, I made an edit to the first post with a few alternate abilities, if they go with those, there would only be 3 grenades in the set. -
Er, such, not suck. Apologies, it's way too late, and I'm heading off to bed. I'll see if I can think of something tomorrow.
-
No, Stone Melee causes alot of Knockdown/Disorient, which means the foe isn't attacking you and building fury. Same with Super Strength. What makes a brute a Brute is fury, after all.
Fire Melee is damage and nothing but, meaning it is perfect for a Brute, it slaughters enemies, and lets you build fury the fastest. -
Well, I figure why pick a rifle based powerset if your not gonna use the rifle? You don't see any Warmace powers that don't use the warmace, for example.
That said, the big thing is is in that suggestion you're forgetting the 'low hanging fruit' thing I was talking about.
It would require whole new assets, et cetera.
As for your comment on there not being enough attacks that deal damage, there are just as many attacks that deal damage in the Munitions Control set than there are in the Earth Control set, and more than in the Electricity/Gravity/Ice/Mind/Plant set.
As for the damage itself... Plant/Mind/Ice/Fire/Electricity don't go above Moderate, only Gravity and Earth do. I'll likely replace Concussive Web Grenade with Leg Shot or something and make it deal Moderate Lethal damage or something to that effect.
I could replace Beanbag with Taser, I suppose. But mainly, look through what we already have and see if you can either suggest something from there, or a slightly modified version of suck. -
Quote:I'm not sure about the new status animation (I've got no clue how easy/difficult it would be for them to do that, I've never seen it done before)My only worry is that the animations will get incredibly repetitive. Especially with that many grenades being flung around. How about dropping Flashbang for...
Covering Fire: Similar animation to full auto, AoE (Cone) Foe hold. Animation for the hold is enemies ducking down in the batsmashreact pose, more or less, while you coat the area in lead.
-Rachel-
And I think you meant replace Tear Gas Grenade
But otherwise, nice idea.
Maybe I could replace Concussion Web Grenade with a new ability that uses Slugs animation, 'Leg Shot'
Also, when I was thinking grenades here, I didn't think the throw animation, but rather the M30 Grenate one--the one that's fired out of the rifle -
You really, really need to look over the other Control/Assault sets to see what kind of abilities they use in order to put ones of a similar style in similar places.
Also, you trying to steal my Munitions Control/Assault idea?
