Excellent. 500W it is.
Thanks! -
Power Supply: Very well. I'm convinced. With the word "recommended" being used, rather than "required" or even "heavily recommended", I was considering staying with the original power supply for a short time.
So.....if 300 was the base and 400 was recommended, what should do YOU folks recommend that I get? -
Hippos are vegetarians and they're fat too.

So I bought a off-the-shelf computer from the local BuyMore
and had a few questions.
1) Power Supply. It came with a 300W power supply. I added a second fan and a video card that recommends having a 400W power supply. I currently have no problems with performance.
Question 1: Should I upgrade the power supply immediately or only if I add additional 'stuff' like say if I modify the case to put in funky lights?
2) Temperature. Running hot is a bad thing. I put in a second fan (donated by the previous comp) and will shut off the comp when not in use. However, the gaming room / gym/ workshop is a converted garage that gets hot in the summer and cold in the winter. (it doesn't freeze, but the mountains on my beer bottles turn blue).
It's the summer though that has me curious and slightly concerned.
So I'm thinking of adding a temperature probe.
Question 2: What is the maximum safe operating temperature of the internal area of a computer before shutdown is needed? -
I used to think that thought the purpose of Rularu was to make /SR Scrappers sad, giving Statesman something to chuckle about between /regen Nerfs.

Quote:In this game, they don't just tack new content at the end, they add new stuff at all level ranges so that everyone can enjoy something new, and so that there are multiple ways to advance to the end, seeing something different each time.Does anyone know if COH will ever expand the playing lvl to atleast 70..i aked this 5years ago and still nothing whats the problem?
It fits with thier "roll an alt" policy. There's a reason you can have so many character slots on each server. How many other games can you have 100+ characters? -
Quote:For L50,you used to get a squid and a badge. Now, you only have to wait to get the badge, the squid is available much earlier. It would be a terrible idea for reasons already listed, but let's add another one anyway : There is still no definitive level 50 end-game experience. I expect that to change within the next year or so, but it is a credit to the game that the peak level is not an end unto itself.
The point of the game isn't "get to the end and raid", even though that's an option. It's more "get to the end, roll alts, team with new people, re-do stuff you missed on the way" -
Quote:Might be quite useful if I had a character I wanted to park at the appropriate level at turn off XP. With a low demand, the price should be quite competitive against IOs.I can't even give away my Titan-Os.
But that's a very specific situation.
And a good example of why outleveling Hami-Os would suck. Egads, think of the thousands of total player-hours that have been spent on Hami raids over the past six years....to have those enhancements become USELESS. The nerdrage would be deafening.
My IOs would laugh SO HARD!

I have a character temporarily parked at L33. Will un-park him when certain personal criteria are met.
-
THAT'S what I was forgetting! Thanks.
Quote:Also, any time you speak in a Global Chat Channel, you will use your global name regardless of who you are playing at the time. So if you're in any channels just say something and that will also tell you. -
Quote:Yes.Global Name ? for example trying to send to my toon Moon Styker..
Read this link. http://wiki.cohtitan.com/wiki/Global...al_Chat_Handle
Then, ingame, type the following:
/getglobalname Moon Styker
Assuming that "Moon Styker" is the correct spelling of your character's name, you should get YOUR global name. If that doesn't work, come back here. Someone more knowledgable than I will have corrected me.
Good Luck! -
Quote:No. They will not. It is a poor design choice in this game's context. It might work well for other games with other setups, but this is different.Does anyone know if COH will ever expand the playing lvl to atleast 70..i aked this 5years ago and still nothing whats the problem
1) They would have to write up a bunch of new content for L51-55, 56-60, 61-65 and 66-70.
2) Who wants thier Hami-O's to expire?
3) At L50 you're saving the world and exploring other dimensions. What do you want to do at L60+?
4) After the first week when the first batch hits the new level cap, then what?
5) A whole bunch of new critters to fight will be needed. We don't just color rats different colors and raise thier HP here.
6) Multiple new zones (both CoH and CoV)
7) What powers do you add to the characters and/or powersets and still maintain game balance?
Here, after L50, your tree doesn't get taller, but it gets stouter at the base. There are plans to make L50's more powerful, but not through the mechanic of higher levels, exactly.
Over time, we do add new content for the high level game. Think of: Cimerrora (spelling error likely), the RCS->RWZ revamp, the AE, Ouroboros. Also, I expect Going Rogue/ Preatoria to add things for my L50s to do.
In short: The answer was no back then, and will likely remain so. -
Quote:how do i Mail INF etc. to my other toons...says something about global...
You email just like you would to another character, except:
You start a new Email. Write something like "cash" in the title and in the text of the Email. Drag an enhancement or whatever in the attachments section. Then put in an amount of Inf.
Then put "@BBQ_Pork" in the "Send To" address. (Or if you're not that generous, use your own global name.)
Hit send.
Log onto another character. Check his Email.
About your Toons though. I think this will answer questions about them.

Was thinking that if possible, could tag missions that were "Defeat Boss+Guards" would be a low chance, "Defeat all on indoor map" would be medium, "Defeat all on huge outdoor map" would be high. (Where High Chance likely does not exceed 20%)

At least the Live Servers are up.

So the other day VU was off on a slight tangent again, I chimed in once and then got a blind invite into "Virtue Forever United".
*confused*
Other than it's MOTD of being for "vetern" players and for TF's, Teams, etc., why do we have this channel in addition to VU? This morning it was at 25 members to VU's 40, so there actually are people there.
Which one is for offtopic banter? (I like to BS over the globals while I solo)
What was the purpose of the additional one? Was it because someone had a tiff with the VU mods? (I did see someone there who had posted an angry rant about a VU mod, but he wasn't of any rank on VFU, so it wasn't his creation.)
VU full and a new channel created? That's what VU2009, VU2010 were about.
Yeah, I'm sure I missed out on some drama. Want to get the lowdown. -
