Hmm.
"Adding customizeable weapons to power customization is another story."
That's what I was looking for, and unfortunately, what I was expecting. -
Back Emblems: I agree.
Letters/Numbers for Belts: I agree.
MermaidMan and Barnacle Boy! -
Sure.
I intend on taking Group Fly on my Bots/FF. To get away from the "dropping minions" problem, I will experiment, but right now setting the MM to follow the henchman and using goto to move the group might work. -
Downsides?
Well, it isn't terribly neccesary(sp?) with you (usually) being able to shoehorn two powers in by L30, and judicious use of temp powers.
But heck, an extra power? I wouldn't turn it down, either. I seldom turn away free stuff.
Note: While travel powers usually take up two power choices, I seldom slot them very heavily, so like the fitness pool, it frees up slots to six-slot my attacks.
And D&D, the pen and paper? Played it for years, loved it, had good stories to tell. Ain't got time or opportunity anymore. -
I'm thinking of the "what if" of having say........a Sci-Fi Ray Gun blast set with different weapon choices AND choices of customizable blast colors.
-
I'm wondering if there is any benefit whatsoever to cancelling the forum-side of your account while still subscribing to the game. Like being 0.00000002% safer from identity theft or something?

I cast.....LEOMUND'S TINY HUT!!!
-
Um....Necktie! Neckerchief! Nickel!
No....that's not it. -

Quote:"I've got laser-shooting mechanical spider arms welded to my spine and I'm NOT the wierdest person in this room."----Operative 33, Pocket D.Its a super hero game, half-demons are the least silly and unoriginal concepts to be found...
For a variation of Void Maiden:
"Maiden the Void"
"Void Mistress"
"Aether-bound"
just off the top of my head. -
-
True, but can you decide that instead of a Stone Mallet you want a stone baseball bat?
-
But....BBQ_Pork, I want something Darkitty-Dark Nasty Evil-looking!
Ah. Well, if customizing both the weapons AND the power colors isn't possible, then we make a second set, called Wand of Darkness.
Swap:
Energy Damage<->Negative Energy Damage
Psi Damage<->Cold Damage
KB<->Fear
Thoughts? -
The Powerset:
Tier 1: Low (Energy) Damage, Quite Fast Recharge, Low End cost.
(Your typical tier 1)
Text: This quick shot let's them know that they have your attention.
Tier 2: Low (Energy) Damage, Low (Psi) Damage, Fast Recharge, Fairly Low End Cost. Also: "-Rech" to target.
Tier 3: Low (Energy) Damage, Moderate (Psi) Damage, Medium Recharge.
X% chance for Mag <?> Stun.
Tier 4: Fae Dart: Minor (Energy) Damage, {Foe -Def, -Resist, -Stealth}
I based this power off of a concept for a "tracking dart" for another set I was considering. Lowering the enemy's Def and Resistance would be instead of the standard "Aim" power. Kind of like how not every melee set relies on Build Up. The actual values would be difficult for me to set fairly, since the whole team could benefit from the foe's DeBuff. The negative would be that it is single-target, and thus not as beneficicial to the caster's AoE powers.
Tier 5: Targetted AoE.
Tier 6: Snipe. Energy/Psi.
Tier 7A: Utility Power: Minor Energy Damage, Low Psi Damage, Very High Chance of Stun.
OR
Tier 7B: Scything Bolt: Cone, Moderate Energy, Minor Psi.
Tier 8: Reversing the Charge: High Negative Energy Damage, Minor Cold DoT. Foe -Rech. Short-ish range
Tier 9: Ground Effect: PBAoE Very High Energy Damage, KB/Stun. (Rip-off of Nova from Energy Blast?)
Animation: The tip of the weapon is aimed at the ground as the caster takes quickly to one knee, firing it into the earth. Explosion eminates outward. -
What I'm suggesting is a Blast set (Blaster/Corruptor Primary, Defender Secondary) that while most will associate with magic-themed characters, can be adapted to other origins as well.
Animations:
The Blasts will originate from a point about a foot above and six inches forward of the character's (presumably right) hand. All powers will eminate from this point, none from any other point (unlike, say fire blast which includes Breath of Fire). Why that point? Because the user will be holding a wand (or similar item) to deliver his blasts. This is a weapon set.
Some animations might be two-handed, but most will not.
Customization:
As I am unsure if one set can have both Color Customization AND Weapon Customization (haven't seen that one yet), this set will use weapon customization.
Default weapon options:
Stage Magician Wand (Black w/white tip)
Plain Wand (brown)
Crystal Wand (brown, with crystal at the tip)
Alien Wand (silver, with crystal at tip, and wires or circuitry along the length)
Mage's Wand (gnarled piece of wood)
Mage's Staff (Longer version of the wand, with all of the excess length coming DOWN from the hand. This staff is held one-third of the way from the top, unlike the wands, which are held at the base.)
*Room reserved for more staff options*
Unlockable Skins:
Nemesis Staff. (Unvieler Badge or 33 mo. Vet Badge)
Blackwand.
But BBQ_Pork, What about Non-Magic Characters!?
Well, there's the Alien and crystal wands (and presumably staves that match them) for that. Remember in old Sci-Fi movies how alien crystals could do wierd things? How many gadjets had unknown glowing rocks in them? Yeah, that's how I work this in.
Really, both Wands AND Staves as weapons?
Yes. By having the animations one-handed, and the distance from the top of the weapon and the grip being the same, I think it could be done.
But, what would this set DO?
I'll get to that. -
Is it possible (or perhaps I should say feasible) for a powerset to have customization of the colors of it's blasts AND for the same set to have weapon customization for the device that said blasts originate from?
A quick skim of Paragonwiki did not show any of the weapon-bearing blast sets (AR, Dual Pistols, Pulse Rifle) to be on the color customization table.

I ask this in preparation for thinking up a new powerset suggestion. -

Quote:It costs nothing. You just gotta earn a respec.Yes I'm a new player. No I don't plan on respeccing unless i have a level 50 that could be respecced to make him better, or get rid of mistakes made.
This question is for future reference so i Know in advance how respecs work.
I have a few questions on how respecs work.
During the time you level up you get to put slots into skills, and you pick out skills at certain levels.
Now how does respeccing work? would i get to start all over on putting slots on skills? what happens to enhancments that are allready stuck on skill slots?
how much influence does it cost to respec at 50?
Okay, so you get to:
1) re-pick all of your powers (stuck with same AT and powersets, but repick powers and pool powers).
2) then put slots in those powers, in the order that they were chosen. Note: this means you can put a maximum of 4 slots in the very last power.
Also: If you exemplar down, you lose powers in reverse order from thier pick, so be careful.
3) All of your enhancements go into a 'bag' to draw from and put into those slots. Up to ten of them can go into your pocket for later sale.
4) Leftover enhancements are sold for FULL price.
5) You exit the respec and if needed, go buy enhancements for slots you chose to leave empty.

While I have memorized some of the spawn points, I haven't done so conciously.
Instead, I focus more on:
"Say, where do they usually put the glowies on this map..."
and
"Okay, the elevator is usually *that way*, so the final room is *over there*...."
I don't mind the much-maligned layer cake room. I just go counter clockwise to the top and work my way down. -
Given the strong evidence and well-written thesis that the OP has given, and having wieghed the Pros and Cons, I'll say that this course has a VERY HIGH chance of implementation.
Quick! Someone PM a Dev at once! -
I'd revamp the Respec system.
Option 1) Full Respec of powers slots and enhancements, just like current.
Option 2) Rechoose slots and enhancements, but keep same powers.

More weapon customization for VEATs. Crab wants a Tommy Gun!! -
Let me look.
Here: http://wiki.cohtitan.com/wiki/Invention_Salvage
And here: http://wiki.cohtitan.com/wiki/Invention_Salvage_Tiers
Critters don't drop specific salvage (No having to camp specific critters forever), but from pools. Need a piece of Tech? Kill a lot of Council, Freakshow or Sky Raiders. Your choice.
AE tickets will buy you specific Uncommon or Rare salvage, or random Common. -

The Expendables says "explosions" to me. Thus: Big Screen.
Scott Pilgrim says "no explosions" to me. Thus: Rental. -
1) Remove the rooting for Inertial Reduction, and give it a "Resist (or Protection?) vs Immob" buff factor.
2) Merge the Yellow and Green Trams.
The dual tram stations in Steel and Skyway would be labelled "Steel Canyon South", "Steel Canyon North", "Skyway City South", etc. Missions in those zones would be labeled in regards to which tram they are closer to. Example: "Defeat Dirty Dan and his Crew: Steel Canyon South".
Independance Port would get a second tram station.
