Parry and Divine Avalanche are excellent for protection, but they do reduce your DPS output if you rely on them. DM has very good mitigation built into its top attack chain.
  3. I have this build planned. The very rare spiritual boost should get Hasten close to perma, and purple sets or the base empowerment buff will get you to perma. KOB-Haymaker-Mu Lightning-Punch-Haymaker-Mu Lightning is the planned attack chain. The gladiator IO is problematic(I got lucky and it dropped in a duel), but you might be able to work around it.

Once you get your cloak powers(fear, darkness), you should start feeling the survivability. Tough and Weave help also.

DA is not the most survivable secondary even after IO's. Inv, WP, and even SR are still more likely to keep you alive, IMO. DA gets the damage aura however.

    Epicness??

Can't think of any powerset that isn't flashy in some way, especially with power customization.

My suggestion is to make alts until you find something that suits your taste, that's what a lot of people do.

It's a great combination even without IO's, but DB/Elec has incredible build potential. You can get some crazy stuff on it through heavy inf investment.

Mutation, Choking Cloud and Fallout are all skippable. Mutation is worth picking up since its fine with just the default slot, chuck an end rdx or a recharge in it and call it done. It's a handy power to have around. Fallout and CC are much more difficult to justify tbh. You don't have any other holds to stack CC with, its a massive end hog and you don't really have any other melee/PBAoE powers that'll have you in melee anyway.
I'll expand a bit on Fallout. I think the new TF's made it far more viable, due to the fact that you'll often have someone die during the final AV fights, and Fallout's debuffs are great against AV's.

Ever since the new TF's came out, all of my dead ally related powers on all characters have seen considerably more use.

    Thanks for the info.

Haven't played with my Rad/Sonic in a long while and I missed a few issues.
  10. Good one! Sounds like a fun and effective strategy, although a little risky if the TP'er isn't on the top of his game the whole fight.

Elec Armor really shines on the low level TF's. Lots of Clockwork and Freakshow with energy damage and drains, both of which you are practically immune to.
  12. I didn't find Electron Haze's KB hurting Disruption Field. The chance of KB is pretty low and the KB magnitude isn't enough to knock em out of DF most of the time. I wouldn't skip Electron Haze also because its damage is pretty impressive and you'll have plenty of time to fire it off between Irradiate and Neutron Bomb.

I agree with everything else though. Also, Cardiac Alpha is a must and Dark Mastery works great with Rad/Sonic.

Some personal experiences: My first corr to 50 was a Rad/Sonic, and I really enjoyed it. Brutes love the buffs+debuffs and your damage is really solid. I found my problems were mostly endurance related but aggro can be problematic as well. Disruption Field gives you aggro and alongside Rad's multiple AoE's mobs will be attacking you pretty often if you attack, unless your team has great aggro management tools.

What it comes down to is Sweeping Strike is just that good of an attack, and having BF to give it more damage makes it better.
Awesome thing about that attack chain is that AS and SS are used very often, and both can be slotted with different purple and -res procs while BF can be slotted with the build up proc.

If you're loaded with inf, a DB scrapper is a good investment.

    Good Builds

Here's a 300 DPS scrapper that has perma Hasten, near-perma Energize, softcapped S/L def, doesn't rely on multiple targets for damage buffs, is end stable, has solid AoE, and contributes considerable -res to a team.

    Play with your 50's?

If you have all 8 Tanker primaries at 50 and you can't enjoy playing any of them well, uh, Tankers might not be your thing(and why did you get them to 50 in the first place ).
  17. Some top end builds just skip the combos altogether and go for some crazy high recharge attack chains.
  18. My Emp/Rad defender, first character made and first to 50 is still my main. I also have the most influence invested in him.

You will just have less resistance and recharge then, and still suffer endurance issues due to your AoE's.

DA is best when built for S/L/N/E defense, as that's where their resists are lacking and it's easier to fit defense in your build there as DA is tight.

With IO's considered, DA is slighty more survivable, Elec has slighty more offense(and in my case it's cheaper too). That's just how it is in general.

This is why I chose Elec Armor for this, as the endurance consumption is too much for DA to handle. I would also strongly advise against sacrificing slots on Dark Regeneration and relying on Hover for defense. Overall too many sacrifices.

Same. Maybe we'll have a wacky zany hat booster pack in the future, who knows.
  22. This is a non-issue.

A lot of the defense based powersets give bonuses that still make them favorable to resist based sets after IO's.

SD is exremely popular due to numerous reasons including high DDR, AAO and Shield Charge.

SR has a recharge bonus and the highest levels of DDR in the game.

Ice Armor has great endurance management, the best aggro management tools, solid debuffs, a damage aura, and easily reaches far beyond the softcap against multiple foes.

Also, defense based powersets get easy access to more LoTG slots for extra recharge.

Ok, off-topic: is there anywhere I can see how expensive recipes are on average, since I can't rely on rarity of recipe?
What's wrong with looking at the market to see how expensive IO's are?
