Quote:This is correct. For the curious the wiki has a list both of the base amounts and the multipliers used:The bonuses are multiples of some base amount. The base amount for defense and resistance is 0.625 (5/8 of a percent), so your resistance example is a bonus of "five times the base amount", or 3.125, which rounds to 3.13.

I don't think there's any way to say for sure without testing it. According to City of Data entry for Omega Bomb (link here) the Taunt power does not actually inherit Taunt enhancements which would mean that the proc would not work (and that slotting Taunt IOs at all is a total waste) but CoD is not always 100% accurate and procs in pets sometimes perform very weirdly so it still might be worth a shot.

Quote:In my experience no matter how extreme or unintended the bug if it provides any bonus at all to players somebody will claim that it was intentional and that it's removal constiutes a bug.I'd say there's little reasonable doubt that it's unintentional. To the point where I don't get how anyone could even wonder if it WAS intentional...
If the devs accidentally granted all characters an "I Win" button that killed all enemies on the map (with full rewards) with a 2 hour recharge time you'd see builds based around using it the next day. -
Merit recipes refers to recipes awarded through the random rare recipe roll for merits/alignment merits or the Gold class ticket roll from AE.

Quote:It not really a bug as much as weird behavior. The workstation itself is immobile but if you move far enough from it the leash causes it to teleport to you. Unfortunately this causes the workstation to stop functioning as an actual workstation. I would guess there's some weird code going on that makes the original location clickable and that doesn't get relocated with the work bench.i spent a litle over 250 mil on the only character of mine to ever get it. Then the danged thing was a little buggy. I could open it once, but if i walked away and tried to reopen the crafting menu the annoying little thing wouldnt respond. Put me off the whole deal.

Quote:Well the main goal of the system is to remove any arcs that don't have someone saying "I believe that this arc is still a valid arc". The primary advantage of having the arc owner be the one to do it is that it allows them to make fixes to the arc if required. I don't necessarily object to your suggestion but at the same time it's not a something I'd be hugely keen on.That would still lose from the search interface good arcs whose creators don't play any longer. Maybe it would be possible to have an arc reactivated by someone other than the creator playing through it? There could be an option in the 'Played Arcs' page to show inactive arcs.

Quote:That would be nice. I've got three versions of Adeon Hawkwood and it would be nice if they could all actually be called Adeon Hawkwood. Now, having the ability to have multiple characters of the same name as one you're already using would be nice.
Sooo...I have BrandX on Virtue, would be nice if I so desired to beable to use that name on multiple characters if I wanted as long as I have at least one BrandX on the server at the time when I chose it. -
Quote:No, coalition members can access the base (to use teleporters and such) but cannot access base storage. If you want all of your characters to access the same base storage then you will need to have them all be a part of the same super group. Since you cannot invite offline characters to a SG that means either finding a friend to help you with invites or getting a second account and using that to invite your other characters (the second account will need to be at Tier 2 in Paragon Rewards so it'll cost you a little bit to set up).OK, from what you just said, on the coalition part. I am taking a wild guess,
For my other characters on the same server, do i have to have each one make a SG and then make a coalition form each group so all my same guys can have access to the same room for storage etc, on my so called main char.... -
Actually the answer is that he's a jerk. During the task force he demonstrates the ability to communicate telepathically with Azuria so he's clearly capable of talking to you telepathically, he just prefers to make you walk.

The only zones I know for sure are PI and The Hollows but I suspect that all zones have one. However, the PI and Hollows ones have been disabled in the current Beta server so I suspect that they are not an intended feature. The most likely explanation is that they are a feature used by the devs for internal testing that was accidentally left in the live build, I would not bet on it remaining.

The fee is based on having certain items in your base (primarily storage items and empowerment stations) and for most such items is 100 prestige per month (a few items are 200 or 300)
Quote:2. Do i guess you have to be in a super team to access the base, or can you give invites or access list.
1. Member of the SG
2. Member of an SG that is in a Coalition with the SG
3. Member of a team which has an SG member as the team leader
Quote:3. can other members share the fee ?
Additionally check out this thread, Fulmens is offering a very nice inf matching scheme for players willing to burn some inf for prestige to help new SGs (defined as less than 500K prestige). His current offer is that if you convert 50 million inf to prestige, he'll convert another 250 million inf, giving your SG 600K prestige to get off the ground.

Quote:This is a fair point. One suggestion I have seen before for handling this is to make all existing arcs "inactive". An inactive arc remains in the system and retains it's rating/plays but will not appear in player searches until the arc creator goes in and re-publishes it.That would wipe out number of plays and the age of an arc, which is useful information for people who're looking for something solid to play.
The advantage of this is that in addition to avoiding issues with arcs losing their ratings it also avoids the issues associated with an arc creator who has lost the locally stored files for their arc.
All in all though I like the suggestion, clearing out the old, broken arcs from the system seems like a very good idea to me. -
Quote:It's also VERY frustrating for Masterminds since the pet AI gets wonky around fear patches. It can be dangerous for some characters. If you are able to solo them primarily due to +defense, but have no DDR, one proper response to having a cascade defense breakdown begin is to back away, so the debuffs get a chance to expire. Standing in 15 Caltrops patches makes that impractical.

It sounds like what happened is that you setup your initial costume slot as male rather than female, new costumes always copy the old one. The easiest way to fix this is to buy Super Tailor Access from the Paragon market, doing this and talking to the right tailor (the one with a name like "plastic surgeon" or something) will allow you to change gender. The other option is to delete the character and re-roll.

Quote:Hmm... I hadn't heard that before although it's certainly reasonable. Personally I always felt that a ranged immobilize is a LOT more useful to a low level blaster than a melee knockback. Low level enemies tend to have more melee attacks than ranged attacks so being able to immobilize them helps a lot.One thing for certain - the Tier One power MUST be replaced. As I understand it, having a melee-ranged Tier One is one of the issues the Devs had (have?) with Energy Manipulation, and how it works with Defiance in its current form. They certainly aren't going to invite more issues by creating a new Manipulation set with a melee Tier One.
For a MA/Ninja style set I'd imagine something along the lines of a Tanglefoot Bag form Dungeons and Dragons. I'm not sure what to call it but essentially a thematic cross between Web Grenade, Entangling Arrow and possibly Entangle (from plant control)
Quote:And what is 'Battle Focus' supposed to be?
1: Tanglefoot Bag: Ranged (Foe Immobilize, -Rech, -SPD)
2: Storm Kick: Melee (Moderate DMG[Smashing])
4: Cobra Strike: Melee (Minor DMG [Smashing], Foe Stun)
10: Crocodile Sweep: Melee[Cone] (Moderate DMG[Smashing], Knockdown) (I envision this as a sort of low, sweeping kick)
16: Focus Chi: Click (Self +DMG, +ToHit)
20: Spirit of the Jaguar: +DEF, +Stealth, +Movement Speed (essentially a Cloaking Device clone with a bit of movement speed added both for flavor and because I think CD is underpowered)
28: Smoke Bomb: PBAoE (Foe Stun, -To Hit)
35: Eagle's Claw: Melee (Extreme DMG[Smashing], Foe Stun)
38: Blinding Powder: Ranged Cone (Foe -To Hit, Confuse, -Perception) -
The selection of Kinetic Melee powers looks good, the addition of Recharge to the Build Up clone is a nice twist but probably necessitates moving the power to later in the set (it depends a bit on the exact numbers though).
Regarding Transfusion I would be VERY surprised if the devs gave Blasters a self heal in their secondary. I could see a +regen version of it working however. I think the set as a whole could use some extra damage mitigation however, I'd probably switch Repulse for something else, I'm not sure what.

There are a few possible inspirations for filling in those other powers (these aren't the only possibilities, just the ones I like). The first is Trick Arrow, it's somewhat concept limited but the first 5 powers in it that could work well for a Blaster secondary (although several would need significant nerfing). Traps is another possibility although the key powers in it (Web Grenade and Caltrops) are already available to Blasters. The final option is to give it a Ninja theme, Smoke Flash and Blinding Powder (form Ninjitsu) could both be modified to be Blaster suitable (I'd probably make Smoke flash a mag 2 stun rather than a placate) and I can see a few other possibilities that would fit with the theme (such as a Stealth power and Caltrops). -
Fortunately I haven't had the issue recently so I don't have any info for the tech team but if it happens again I'll definitely submit it.

Honestly, I would say that Global Channels form the same basic niche you are referring to with squads. you can join them freely and find people to talk/team with. You don't need to worry about prestige and bases and they don't prevent you from joining a SG. If people want to have a "Squad" like you describe then a Global channel would seem the obvious option with the added bonus that you can see it no matter what character you are on.
Yes, most current global channels are teaming-focused but there's nothing to stop people from making more social oriented global channels. -
Do Free/Premium players get salvage drops even without an invention license? The available information is unclear on that point but if they do that could explain a general price drop since Market access comes a lot earlier than invention access.

As MTS noted Demons do get different auras and glowing eyes when you upgrade. The wiki actually lists the visual changes for each upgrade power and according to it there are only two cases where an upgrade does not give a visual change. The Commando does not get a change Equip Mercenary and the Genin do not change from Train Ninjas (I don't play either set so it's entirely possible the wiki is wrong, I'm just going by what it says).
-
The two upgrade powers work by giving your pets additional powers. For example consider the Demonlings in Demon Summoning. When you first summon them they have two powers a single target ranged attack (equivalent to the Tier 1 attack in a blast set) and a single target melee attack. Using Enchant Demon will give them a second, more powerful, single target ranged attack in addition to their starting powers. Finally using Abyssal Empowerment on them will give them a short ranged cone attack.
No in terms of actual mechanics each time you use the upgrade power all nearby pets will get given their extra powers which will last until you resummon the pet in question. You can check if a particular pet has their upgrades by checking the buff bar in the pet window, the upgrade power itself remains there as an auto-power to serve as a reminder (the pets also have visual changes to indicate upgrades but those can be harder to spot).
At the end of the day you should definitely take both of the upgrade powers as soon as they become available (at levels 6 and 32), not taking them will seriously weaken your build. Please note that the powerset specific powers at 18 sometimes function as pet buffs but do NOT use the same rules as the pet upgrade powers, each set functions slightly differently so check your particular set.
I hope that covers everything. -
Quote:As you say, Trick Arrow isn't really appropriate for a Blaster secondary. However I still hold out hope that one day we might see a Trick Arrow based Blaster Manipulation set. Trick Arrow does contain a number of powers that would work in a Blaster manipulation set; Entangling Arrow, Flash Arrow and Ice Arrow could be ported as is, Poison Gas Arrow and Glue Arrow could also be ported but would need some nerfs in the process (for PGA I'd remove the -damage and make it an AoE sleep, for Glue Arrow I'd decrease the radius and maybe increase the recharge).Trick Arrow is a debuff set. Blaster secondaries are not buff/debuff sets, but "Manipulation" sets. This is a very confusing question, what makes you think TA is appropriate as a Blaster secondary?
Those five powers would provide a solid basis for the set and it should be possible to fill it out with either new powers or powers from other sets. Personally I always liked the idea of filling it out with Martial Arts powers (reanimated to work with the bow drawn). -
Quote:And I'm not going to, because I'm feeling evil today. You will all be left to wonder for all eternity. Muhahahahahaha!!!!It's very possible that Adeon Hawkwood was using "on the forums" as shorthand for "on this forum section".
It's possible that they were just referencing what we've been told would be the case (non-VIP's would not be able to post) and the information that is still on the main website.
We won't know unless they say.
Ok, I was going by what the official web page says, I wasn't aware they had added the feature (although given where this thread is located my original point is still valid). -
Quote:1. Lamb Attack: Single Target, Minor Damage, minor chance to stun: You send a small Lamb forward to attack your foes, it isn't very effective but it is cute enough to be distracting. The good news: Second Measure told Black Scorpion to implement Shape-shifting.
The bad news: Second Measure doesn't enunciate well, and we're getting Sheep-shifting in I22.
2. Ewe Attack: Single Target, Moderate Damage, knockdown: A more powerful Ewe charges forward knocking down your foe and damaging him.
3. Explosive Sheep: Moderate damage, targeted aoe: You strap a bomb to one of your sheep and send it forward exploding it in the middle of your foes.
4. Ram Charge: Single Target, High Damage, knockback: A large Ram charges forward sending one of your foes flying.
5. Shepard's Crook: +Damage, +To Hit: You pull out your crook, allowing you to more effectively wrangle your sheep for a short period
6. Punt Lamb: High Damage, Pencil Cone, knockdown: You punt a lamb high into the air so that it lands behind your foes, the enraged mother Ewe charges forward to rescue it knocking down and trampling your foes in the process.
7. Ninja Sheep: High Damage Single Target Snipe: Your highly trained Ninja Sheep sneaks into position to attack your foes before they realize he is there. It takes him some time to get into position during which time any damage will cause him to break off the attack.
8. Cute Lamb: No Damage, Aoe Mag2 Stun: A particularly adorable Lamb wonders into the middle of your foes. High ranked enemies will ignore him but minions may end up becoming completly distracted.
9. Stampede: High damage, long range cone, knockdown: All of your sheep charge forward knocking down and trampling your foes in a single rush.
